Imagine this. You are travelling on a boat to get to a coral reef where sitings of a huge creature are being reported. The ship hits a bump in a wave and you fall out. You are wearing your scuba gear and check to see where the ocean floor is. You look down and see a bit of a flash. You can't see the floor. You see very far, around 500 feet deep beneath you. You look closer and start to swim down a bit. You see down there what looks to be a long streak of reflection of the sun. When you get closer and it gets darker, you feel very uncomfortable. You then see the face of the creature staring up at you. It is approaching slowly, and you need to make it to the surface before it gets to you, but you realize that your air is running out fast. You are in the middle of a dark blue void with a giant angry eel moving towards you, almost smiling about eating its next meal.

I'm sorry but this SCP-3000 is a tadpole compared to SCP-169 (2000-8000 km estimated length) the only way the foundation managed to find it, was by satellite where an entire Archipelago/Island Chain moved several kilometers. It takes a single breath every 3 months and they needed a Seismometer detect it. Allegedly this is the source of the famous underwater sound known as the "Bloop" as far as containment procedures go, well this is what it said on its wiki page. " SCP-169 cannot and almost certainly will never be contained no structure on Earth is large enough or strong enough to contain SCP-169"
