This is one of my favorite books of 2024 so far! I pre-ordered from Honford and got the paperback early, which is something I greatly appreciate! No spoilers but the chapter at the end with the cat made me cry, it was so beautiful and touching. Loved all the commentary in this book and the body horror when it popped up, so glad to see you make a video review of it because it's an amazing book.

I bought it a couple of minutes into your critique. It sounds fascinating even if flawed. Going to go start it right now.

I really like bizarre books, so I absolutely need to read this. 🥰🖤 The premise sort of reminds me of Voracious by Wrath James White, because of how people seek out a quick fix to their problems.

This one was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the weirdness and would have liked to have seen more of it, it definitely felt like it could have been longer

willow!! have you read "a darker shade: new stories of body horror from women writers"? it's a short story collection with stories from authors including margaret atwood and cassandra khaw. I picked it up off the shelf and thought you'd like it 😃 the cover is beautiful (with the snakes)! I also picked up paradise rot and sister, maiden, monster!
