Our video on pacemakers covers all the information you are looking for about what is a pacemaker and all the amazing functions modern pacemakers have. It reviews in detail how pacemakers are implanted in the body and what are the most common complications from the procedure. It then reviews the most important things to know after a pacemaker is implanted. The video then reviews two of the most exciting advances in the world of pacemakers today: Lead-less pacemakers, miniature devices designed for those for who a regular pacemaker is too risky, and CRT or Cardiac Resynchronization Pacemakers. It explains in detail how CRT devices work and how they have the potential to treat heart failure symptoms and reduce mortality.
Co-written by cardiologist Dr. Jose Taveras M.D. F.A.C.C and electrophysiologist Dr. Jorge Romero M.D. F.A.C.C F.H.R.S and produced by Doctablet®

I have ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) since 11/2017. And after 3 years & 8 months shocked me 2 days in a row. My Sustained Ventricular Tachycardia went off last month 08/26 & 27/2021. I waited until the 2nd shock before I went to ER. I should have went to the ER @ first shock. I thought I was fine after the first shock. Now, I'm taking Sotalol 120MG 2x a day to control my irregular heartbeat♥️

Thoracotomy: In this approach, your chest is opened and thin oval patches made of rubber and wire mesh are sewn onto the outside of the heart (epicardium). These patches are connected to the leads. Sternotomy: This approach is similar to a thoracotomy in that the chest is opened. The difference is that the incision is made over the breastbone (the sternum) and the leads are advanced into the heart. A sternotomy may be combined with coronary artery bypass surgery or heart valve surgery

Pacemaker placement involves neither of these. Pacemakers are placed under the skin.

@@Doctablet except in babies. The chest is opened, 4 wires are stitched onto the heart and the pacemaker is hidden under the Ribs in the abdomen area in order to prevent it getting damaged.

When a pacemaker has been implanted (cardiac arrhythmia) for around 15 years ago (changed in 2 times: 9 years 1st one, 6 years 2nd one), (Here is the question) The pacemaker is for the rest of my life? Or, the hearth 💓 could be fixed by itself and doesn't need the pacemaker anymore, according to the regular three or six months computer tests results? Because, the results indicate that heart has been in a regular itself working pumps. Or the heart is giving a "break" to the pacemaker? 🤔 Or the heart fixed itself, when understood not to fall in love again?

How many price?
@Doctablet

this depends upon the device you need. For a standard implantable pacemaker the cost is approx 5-6k USD. For fancier ICD devices this cost can spike up to over 50,000 dollars. Thanks for watching

@Doctablet
@Doctablet 2 жыл бұрын
We do not discuss pediatric pacemaker use in this video. They are safe, but they have to be replaced after a number of years as a child will live many decades. Maybe try a resource like this: www.cincinnatichildrens.org/health/p/pacemaker

Pacemakers moving in BODY ? like up and down
@Doctablet
@Doctablet 3 жыл бұрын
No pacemakers do not move much once implanted. they sit in a "pouch" under the skin. The skin can move freely over them.

@Doctablet

Minimaly invasive. You do not open the chest cavity to put a pacemaker. The pacemaker is placed underneath the skin
