What is the correct sequence of these four electric protection devices: MCB, RCCB, digital under and over voltage protection, and surge protection device? Does the sequence of these devices matter?

The earth cable on the rewritable plug at 0:50 seems rather short, especially compared to the neutral. Is this an observation test?

It would have been good to show the fusing time curves shown in BS7671 ( 60898 ) - and indeed mention the difference between B, C and D curve with respect to the magnetic tripping part of the MCB.

@@deang5622 you think the sort of people that do it care? they saved a few quid is what they care about. you can insure and sell your house without having an inspection so there is no incentive for it to be done correct.

@@ShadowzGSD I didn't say they cared. Anybody can do any electrical work in their own home, whether it be notifiable or not and then quite deliberately not notify building control and no official has any knowledge the work has been carried out. That has always been the case for the last 70 years. There has always been and always will be such unscrupulous people. And the question is how do you stop them? And the answer is you can't. Because no one knows what they are doing except themselves. Unless you start restricting the sale of electrical cables and accessories to qualified personnel. And that's not going to happen.

I'm a retired electrician, for rental properties and home properties I always go RCD/MCB's. Only one circuit trips, not everything! In a rental property? The results can be catastrophic! Loss of life or even veggies status for someone! Massive damages, i know of one many years ago was M$6.4 Australian in damages to a now woman in a vegetative state! Not possible with a RCD/MCB, whole switchboard, stove and hot water!
