This right here! I have always struggled to give my spirituality a name. Awen!!! I feel it and I know it in my very being as I say "Awen". I find myself saying things before you say it in the video 😁 This is exactly the centre of my belief 🥰 Thank you for these videos! Very informative

I am Breton Canadian, originating in Saint Malo Brittany, most of our traditions have been lost. But due to the connection between brythonic peoples (cornish, welsh, breton) i have found great comfort in this path. Thank you so much for all that you do Mhara!

Thank you for making this channel! I’m trying to connect more to my welsh heritage and this channel has helped me so much. I was brought up in Scotland so I know lots about Scottish celtic culture but very little about the welsh stories and culture my ancestors were brought up with so this channel has been amazing for me. I automatically feel really connected to welsh celtic culture and I really just wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for sharing your knowledge :)

Thank you for the intro! This “Awen”is a beautiful energy. Imbas feels quite different though. And chi etc all quite different energies. Judeo-Christian traditions have their own beautiful energies too, FYI. Sufi “Baraka” (grace/blessings); Kabbalistic “Ohr Ein Sof” (light of the infinite). If the backbone of your spiritual practice is connecting deeply with a spiritual energy, I think that’s good practice. Thanks again for the intro to Awen. Seems like an exceptionally beautiful and powerful energy. No wonder Welsh poetry seems so magical!

I'm just so tickled to have found your channel. The door was opened many years ago to my witch path. I met my biological parents a few years ago and discovered I'm Welsh. Thank you for passing on your knowledge. It really means a lot. Silly Sidenote - I've been on this kick lately of saying Awomen when my friend says Amen. When I watched your video I was keen to see Awen as Amen and Awomen melted together - the m upside down 🙃💜

I randomly discovered you on Tik Tok so I feel that must be for a reason. I have a strange dual interest in Christianity and Paganism equally, but I've never found much specifically Welsh until finding you. I'm watching this with much love because my most treasured maternal Nanna was named Awen /|\ and she was a force to be reckoned with 😊✨

Thanks for this, I’ve always had this feeling the way you described the feeling from certain music that inspires me to write, and the moment I see some beauty in nature that has me itching to paint the moment, or to just bask in its stunning views. Now I have a name to put to that feeling 🥰 Would you maybe do a feature video of book recommendations? I have a few of course, but I’m always greedy to add to my collection and research 😅 I call it my inner welsh dragon wanting to hoard its treasures 😂

Thank you for the video! You know, the first time I was introduced to the concept of Awen it came in the form of a ball of light through my third eye and at the same time the music in my headphones changed to a song I had never heard before: the Song of Awen. From that moment on, the power, the energy, the Awen has been strongly present all the time

Regarding abrahamic religions not having an equivalent to awen, in Judaism we have something which I think of and feel as very close to that, called ‘Shekinah’, which amongst other things is the divine feminine, the female aspect of ‘god’, the feeling of the glory or the ‘divine’ presence, the resting place of the soul

To me Awen is found when I settle myself into my surroundings. When my mind quiets and I know myself without struggle, the world sparkles and sings. I love the examples of those moments you gave. I'm super excited for Friday. I went to your tictoc, hoping for a pronunciation video, or ten that went with your book. And found your KZfaq! You are such a gift, and I'll be mentioning your channel and book on my March Life with Tarot video. Thank you so much for this first, of what I hope is, many literary contributions!

@3:10 "Specifically Ireland has a very very similar force known as Imbas" -- when I first learned about Imbas, I immediately thought, "Oh, it's like Awen". Not identical of course, but it was the first connection I made in my mind, as learners always tend to do, to connect new ideas and experiences to concepts and experiences they already know.

I LOVED this video. I am so excited to see that you have a KZfaq channel now! I've enjoyed following your Instagram account. This video really helped me understand the concept of Awen! I've been experiencing the Awen as I have started a Welsh (Brythonic?) focused Pagan path. ♥️ A little note: Jewish Pagans have been requesting that we try to avoid saying "Abrahamic Religions" I can send you a KZfaq video by a Jewish Pagan that explains why if you'd like. I just learned about it so I'm not great at explaining it. Anyway, diolch yn fawr iawn am wnaed fideos KZfaq!

Awen sounds comparable to Odr in the Norse tradition. Is there a deity particularly associated with Awen in the Welsh pantheon?
@mharastarling2730
@mharastarling2730 3 жыл бұрын
I’m unfortunately not familiar at all with the Norse tradition so can’t say much on that! Regarding deities associated with Awen - the witch goddess, Cerridwen is often seen as the goddess of Awen (or more notably the goddess of transformation, magic and inspiration). Within the tale of Taliesin the witch Goddess Cerridwen brewed a potion that was literally Awen liquified in order to aid her disfigured son to be accepted by society. The bard Taliesin is also associated with Awen as he was born of Awen entirely. But the Awen is a force that anyone with an artistic leniency is associated to - bards, poets, painters, artists, singers etc are all touched “by the Awen”.
@mishapurser7542
@mishapurser7542 3 жыл бұрын
@@mharastarling2730 Diolch! I know these are different traditions and so there are plenty of differences, but I can't help noticing similarities between Cerridwen and Odin/Frigg, and Taliesin and Bragi. I feel really drawn to the Cymraeg tradition. I too am a witch, as you might have inferred an eclectic one. I'm hoping to connect to many traditions I feel close to, but particularly Welsh, Germanic, and indigenous Brazilian.

... And further researched by Christian antiquarians of the 18th & 19th centuries such as Morgannwg, Edward Davies, Sir John Rhŷs and Lady Charlotte Guest, so we also have modern(ish) Christian interpretations. Yes the Awen symbol /|\ was made up by Morgannwg (also rather inspired by Christian notions of the Trinity).
