So I was driving a car in the morning and suddenly felt pressure in the eyes area, like i was loosing focus and felt imbalance, followed by pain in the neck just below the skull. Came back home went for the evening walk and started feeling slight imbalance, did push ups and felt a bit fine. However next morning driving a car and same thing happend, pain in the neck and lack of focus. Went to doc and he said i am Bppv. My neck still hurt. Recently i did intensive physical training and used cell phone in the bed. I think i need to rest and correct my posture. This video gave valuable information. Thanks.

Hello I’m dealing with off balance dizziness symptoms. It happened after a chiropractor neck adjustment. And it’s been like this for 3 weeks now. Was wondering if this dizziness off balance was caused by the chiropractor I saw from the neck adjustment, would doing some of the cervicogenic dizziness exercises help? Or would it be regular vestibular exercises?

If your symptoms started post neck manipulation you could have cervicogenic dizziness. I would give those exercises a go and see if they help. Best of luck! Your story is very common. Many of my patients have told me similar stories with respect to the chiro.

Thanks for all you do Marrow. Great videos. I think I might have this condition. One question I have, is tinnitus also related to this? I've been dealing with this whole dizziness/tinnitus for 4 months already. I do feel some tension in the neck, specially in the occipital region and also the sides of my head (temporal muscles). Have done several sessions of manual therapy but still haven't recovered.

Tinnitus is a symptom that could occur. Manual therapy is very helpful but needs to complimented with the right stability exercises. Find someone that is familiar w/ Gwen Jull cervical exercises and your prognosis will go immediately. Best of luck!

I'm going through the exact same thing right now. My dizziness came on slowly first then became more or less chronic, then I got tinnitus too. Been to my physio and she saw that my posture was bad and that I was tender in the upper neck area as well as my neck is crunching and grinding when I move my head. So working on my posture now but the process is slow

can a neck injury effect vestibular nerve? do the proprioceptors get crushed? permanently? I was looking down at work running a 5 ton press and holding small drive shafts pt helped, vor helped now they say PPD and the limbic system, not 6 years later...?

Neck dizziness does not include damage to the vestibular nerve. Dizziness w/out hearing loss and with neck pain would be more consistent w/ cervicogenic dizziness. Proprioceptors don't get crushed but inhibited by pain. Hope that helps!

This is the first true explanation I’ve heard. Drs keep tell I g me that my imbalance is from ear crystals. I know it isn’t. I was hit head on by a drunk driver and have cervical arthritis, spondolyosis and disc degeneration. This is when I get imbalance.

Do you recommend neck traction for cervicogenic dizziness? How about rebounding/trampoline jumping (once sufficient strength has been achieved)?

No research for neck traction as an agent to improve cervicogenic dizziness. Fast activities such as bouncing, jumping could exacerbate pre-existing neck problems. I would be careful in that direction. Thanks for watching.

Pain at your first neck bone (C1) is notorious for causing pain behind the eye or around the eye. It is worth having checked out.

Please, I have bppv, tmj, also having strange dizziness, especially when walking am pulled from side to side, off balance 😞, and now when laying down when looking at a side...did brain MRI, all is fine, but am really desperate. Where to go, to which doctor to turn to? Until now, none of them were useful unfortunately, please help!

My advice would be to find a good physiotherapist with orthopedic manual therapy experience. More importantly, find a good physio that is familiar with "Gwen Jull" style cervical exercises. That would be my best advice. Best of luck!

Have the same issue. Have gone to a physiotherapist for a month. Spend around 3000$ Literally nothing has changed. Have done Brain MRI as well. Going to do neck MRI tomorrow. Hope to find a solution.
