I dont know about technique(I know he has a very good technique) but his versatility in emotional delivery is insane it doesnt matter whether its heartbreak,pure love,crush,passionate love ,onesided love ,friendship ,motivation , happiness, just life lesson,mental health issues he is insanely good . Exactly so balanced. His voice is so beautiful . His voice always change for each song its so different . Im a sucker for good lyrics ,melody ,singers emotional voice too.I only listened to English & my local language songs as I only understood these two languages but thanks to Chen I started listening to korean songs which I didnt know a single word.

A very important singer and a perfect portrayal of all of these pillars of singing is Lara Fabian. She has a beautifully matured tone, sings in a healthy way, has preserved her voice, and is able to convey emotion unlike no other. She once said in an interview that what she loves about music the most is that a language can be 100% different from what you know and the emotion can still be conveyed and you understand it despite the language barrier. Because emotion knows no barriers.

TONYYYYY.... God that man was a true legend in a genre of music that's hard to make a mark in in this era. Delivery was this mans gift that very few others even in that genre have Also your bullet point about the public tending to gravitate towards what are PERCEIVED to be negative emotions, while indeed true, I must point out that calling them negative is probably why people gravitate to them in the first place. They're not negative at all. They're an emotion just like the rest. But because humanity has decided they're negative, we hide them, we push them away at the expense of being emotionally healthy. We need all those emotions to be a well rounded human. So I have a theory that the public gravitates to those "negative" (again, they're not) emotions because we're not socially allowed to feel them, so we feel them through out favorite artists instead and it's a HUGE catharsis. Not entirely heathy, but certainly cathartic. I'm trying to break that stigma of those emotions being negative. Think the movie Inside Out. That's what the movies' lesson is, is that we need all those emotions function as a mentally health person.
