What is Nap - Fabric Nap

Nap is related to the fabric pile which gives the fabric texture but it also means you have to be careful when cutting it out. This tutorial will give some tips so that you can treat this beautiful fabric right.

I have explained fabric nap to new sewing students like petting a cat, the fur lies flat when you pet with the nap and it stands up when you pet against the nap (and the cat might bite you 😊).

Nap can also apply to directional prints. This is how I teach it, that it works with both fabric types as well as print.
