I want to appreciate your crew for make it a reality that the exact programme shown on TV is what I can get on this KZfaq channel. In my area, i have the issue with power itch, so if I miss the programme due to power failure I may not have the opportunity to watch it again. Besides, in must cases I do write or record the programme in order to understand what is fast approaching in the world of tech. Thanks once again Spencer Kelly, Lara Wellington every one Thanks BBC CLICK crew.

QBits are not simultaneously in the state of 1 and 0, they are simultaneously in all their intermediate states. Therefore, they are only to a small extent also in the states of 1 and 0. It's a superposition of probability vevtor.

If Qbits are "simultaneously in all their intermediate states", how on earth can you read a coherent result from any given task???

As long as they haven't been read. After completion of a"calculation" all Qbits are defined.
@barryroberts9086

Far from my specialty but It's my understanding a qubit doesn't refer to an exact proton polarization but only where it is within a threshold which determines the 2 values. The intermediate states would fall in to one or the other depending on if it's above or below the threshold line. A qubit by definition has only 2 state ([QU]antum[BI]narydigi[T])

I suppose there is some value to showing the beginnings of the journey to those very new to quantum computers. Jus that this blocks up space in my You Tube algorithm looking for things I'm into. See it's dated for Dec. 2017 but at that time the video is outdated by content. I get a lot of my new information and news on subjects like this from the web since pop media tends to lag and I don't have good access to per reviewed stuff or even Public television. This looks like BBC content and I would more be covering the controversy of explainable Ai and how that relates to machine learning. How laws are being written to make it so if you can't show the way Ai and quantum computing can find results form complex optimization calculations in certain countries like yours you might not even be able to implement things already rely on like weather prediction.

The Quantum computer already exist and was made by a Canadian firm (who named it) 5 years ago and it is actually the size of a standard laptop. It is not yet commercialized because the US government still has concerns on internet security and encryptions to protect data, especially for banking services. It has a boron based CPU with 1000 times processing power in comparison to the present Core i7 intel versions. They have to keep paying this firm annually until the Quantum computer's decryption abilities are met with equal strength encryptions.

In 50 years, when everyone has a QC, I'm sure the U.S. government will come out and say yeah we already miniaturized it back in the early 2000's and they were already being applied to various defense and cyber systems. If not the government then Defense Contractors for sure since they're the ones probably building them for actual use. I think history has shown us over and over that the real technological innovation when it comes to physics and anything aerospace comes from the needs of the military/defense in general. The budget is there to support it.

No, more than that. A ternary classical computer cannot solve problems any more efficiently than a binary classical computer; in general an n-ary computer cannot solve problems more efficiently than an m-ary computer for any values of n, m. A n-ary quantum computer can solve problems more efficiently than an m-ary classical computer.

Now Intel has a 40 something qbit processor chip that theoretically could fit in a laptop, tablet, or regular desktop. I think AI will be the key to the software design for quantum computers, a learning AI running on a quantum system should be able to figure out how to make self configuring software similar to how the human brain can imagine and come up with solutions. It seems the human brain runs similar to a quantum computer, there is thought to be 8 different neuron nerve sizes and can send varied signals from cell to other cells. Future AI might have as much imagination as a person does if they use a quantum system. Scientists might also create a trinary software language which has 3 bit states and a variance describer for the last bit state which accounts for the overlay they described. Technically from a human point of view the trinary software language would be the easiest for a human to understand and write programs for quantum computer systems. The variance describer would be less like a bit or state of data and more like a wavelength similar to a radio frequency which would read similarly to a human's EEG of the brain.
