Do your feet and/or ankles seem to roll outward when you walk or run?
If so, you could have a condition known as supination. Supination is one of the primary causes of ankle injuries and sprains.
An ankle sprain, usually the result of a fall or injury that "twists" the ankle the wrong way, is a common injury that can affect the soft tissues, typically the ligaments, of the ankle. Ankle sprains are the number one injury concerning the ankle joint.
An ankle sprain, or lateral ankle sprain, can often force sufferers to refrain from physical activity for four to eight weeks, depending on the severity of the damage done. The reason: An ankle sprain results in a stretching to a partial or complete tear of the ankle ligaments on the outside of the foot.

Hmmm... Note sure about some of the recommendations - I have very strong supination, and stabilising / corrective shoes have always caused injuries for me. The only thing that has worked has been minimal / low padding / flexible shoes!

Stability!? Is this for real? That would only make you supinate even more! The purpose of stability shoes are to counteract the inward rotation of the ankle (overpronation) with a denser sole on the inner part of the shoe...Footsmart is contradicting itself by telling you to do the same thing for both over/supination

As a Physical Therapist, please do yourself a favor and listen to absolutely zero of what this sociopath is telling you. Run, Run far away with your supinated feet to an appropriate PT or medical professional that can help you.

This is not correct...stabilizing/cushioning shoes are for over-pronators..not for over-supination

my ankle was injured when i was 9 and when it heal it started happening like 15 times a year on average..I finally have a word for what is happening

The lateral heel wedge is my go to, the first few days you feel like Bambi learning to walk all over again but I feel its helping, I might even be over pronating but I'm not entirely sure. All in all I recommend the lateral heel wedge.

I think I supinate on my left foot. When I walk most contact is from my left side of my foot. This makes my foot feel like the right side (inner side) is sloped down and now I feel bad pain when I stand for too long and my knee pops.

Don't listen to this advice, it's wrong! If you get stabilizing or cushioning it forces your foot outwards even more! You want flexible shoes with no posting (the stuff on the inside sole at the arch that's more dense than the blown-in sole).

***** let me explain you something. supination its the symptom of imbalance in muscles, tendons or ligaments...in this video they are selling you shit for the symptom that may even worsen the condition, just like any other doctor. real solution comes from stretching or strengthening of ligaments and or muscles.not fucking shoes or heel cups.

Do not!!!! I repeat... DO NOT!!!!! wear high tops or hight leveled shoes while doing sporty activities. You could and probably will injure your ankle very badly especially if you have supination.
