Chris, it’s been mentioned over and over again and I’ll chime in as well. If you’re trying to bring forward numbers on flex difference vs. player, please use a proper radar. It’s evident that Tommy isn’t pushing 25 mph slap shots and the Canadian player was shooting much better than what was registered. Not hating on the content, but your results would be much more interesting, and valid, if the measurements were accurate. A player gave me his radar (similar to the one you’re using), and it’s more often than not measuring the stick as opposed to the puck.

That taller player is 100% shooting the puck harder. I couldn't even watch the rest of this video after I seen what the radar was doing after they both shot.

Another great video guys! This is turning into some hockey science!! Great addition of a taller player expecially a fellow canadian! Maybe you can have him on your next pod cast and go through the differences he has noticed in NA hockey compared to UK hockey and why he chose to plau over there. Would also be great to see a day in the life style video if you can get the team on board. Don't worry about your height Tommy, I can say as a defenceman the smaller players are the most difficult to play against, they were typically faster, more agile and hard to stay infront of! Keep doin you Tommy!!! You guys are making great content and are entertaining to listen to. Keep it up guys!

Nice video. I think the radar gun isn’t that accurate sometimes. Matt is making the net move and it’s only 50mph while tommy is giving it 67 and the net is not moving a inch

So I’ll echo the same comments that I posted in previous videos. I love the concept of the videos and appreciate the work that goes into it. Truly I do. This particular radar is known to produce sketchy results. Wish you had a chance to do this with a bushnell velocity speed device.

I have the same radar gun and it picks up other stuff like how fast the stick moves and your body moving instead of the puck

Love the vid but I'd moreso like to know where you got a senior Trigger 7 pro with 65 flex as that would be the exact stick I'm looking for but can't seem to find it anywhere.

my kids have the same radar and it always off, so hard to get a accurate number. them shots were way faster then what it was showing

Couple of things to consider here. Tommy cut his sticks down, so he always had a higher flex stick. Also the position of the radar matters. I once was in a competition where the radar gun was in the right corner of the net while I as a rightly shot more towards the left side of the net. In the finals of the competition there was a right shot ex nhl defenseman and a left shot youth player and yes, the latter won. So I'd assume the same happened here, with the radar on the left and the right shot at an advantage.

A few have chimed in about the accuracy of your radar device. With almost 200K subs, and the number of videos you have produced I'm thinking there should be some budget for a proper radar device. Another useful tip would have been to put in a chart at the end showing average and top speeds for each of the players with each type of shot and each stick flex. If the numbers are anywhere remotely accurate, Tommy should probably consider switching to the 75 flex stick. His snappers were pretty much the same with that as the 65 flex, his slappers were faster with the 75 flex and from everything I've read, the control and feel stickhandling is a little better with a stiffer flex stick.

I think the shot clock is sometimes reading the follow-through of the stick and not the puck, cause some of the readings were a bit weird cause ngl shooting 25 mph is slower than some of the u13 kids I ve seen and no way Tommy is shooting that slow

Ok, I enjoy the videos lads... but being Canadian and a hockey player myself I feel compelled to point this out... there is a very big difference between a wrist shot and a snap shot... Tommy is using the exact same shot in both categories which is a snap shot... so let's just say "slap shot" and "snap shot" :) yes I've liked and subscribed because you do put out entertaining content... even if it's not entirely accurate ;)

I've found stick flex preference seems to correlate with height. I'm 5'8, around 200lbs, but I use a 75 flex cut down a bit. I know taller guys who arent as physically strong use 85 flex but physics is a thing.

When you cut down a stick, I think the flex goes up.

I am 6.2 on skates and my weight is 205 pounds I like a 87 flex in the Bauer vapor sticks but for me I can score using a p28 a p88 and p92 you just have to know how to shoot but for some people they have tried different curves and just like the one that feels good for them I am not picky when it comes to my curve but when I am doing off ice training in the summer I use a 77 flex Bauer vapor stick

Buy a bushnell radar gun PLEASE. Why waste everyones time and your money just to get inaccurate results, when you could just buy a proper radar gun for 150 bucks??? Also the type of radar gun used in the video has to be behind the net to get even some sort of accuracy, yes I know it's harder to see in the video, but still.

If you’re a grown man using 65 flex consider it a wake up call to get in the gym. Most guys play 110 and the shorter fellows go 85 and they even cut some off of the stick. 75’s are for ladies and for bantam. Buddy can’t even flex the 65. Yikes.
