“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
Welcome to the Young Nails family!

I personally prefer acrylic. I actually like the smell of monomer lol. That's what I taught myself to use. And I HATE being sticky lol

If I hadn't had issues with my gel polish peeling, I never would have found this wonderful world of nails. So glad that happened, and also know why that happened now lol.

I had gel polish in a bare nail. I can’t see paying a salon $45-80 for gel polish just for it to chip or peel. So I do dip now. Buy a Subay drill and teach yourself. I use Gotti gel polish on top with no issues.

I uses to do acrylic only. I am a blunt honest person. I actually never did gel polish or acrygel until this past year. I have really enjoyed this product it simply works better for me. The application is better the adhesion is better the filing is easier no heavy chemical smell. For myself I love the gel and acrygel.

I've gone from dip powder (I've used this for extensions on my nails as well), and acrylic is just easier for me to work with compared to gel/esp polygel. For design work, gel polish/gel systems is probably going to be the best to work with, but acrylic for building the nail is hands down my favorite with the consistency

Builder gel IF you can teach yourself how to use it properly and use a mask and air filter to suck up the powder when you file. However Dip powder is the simplest process for anyone who can paint their nails well. Which everyone can learn how to paint nails very well over the course of 4mnth to a year if they do it weekly, even if you use nail oil to practice on nude nails.

both acrylic and gel there’s pro’s and con’s, gel you have to be careful when you pick it up because the more you dig in the jar the more bubbles you get and that’s a problem with lifting. The same for acrylic when you deal with the powder to liquid ratio. But my biggest problem or something you need to plan ahead is the monomer smell so is a give and take. Also gel doesn’t last with my lifestyle but acrylic does. Dip powder Is awesome too. I love everything for different people so I don’t think one system is better than the other, it’s more of what works for you. *Habib, cool 🧦 *🙃

Awesome video, I've been looking for this information lately so epic timing. I personally like each of the different systems because I feel they all serve different purposes. I like that there's different choices of mediums to work with, so you're able to customize to the needs of every person's preference. At first it can be overwhelming, but then once you get to know each product I find you can learn to have an appreciation for all of them. Thank you again for the video, knowledge is power and I'm so very grateful for channels like this one that are generous to share 😇💕

Just purchased the Hard Gel Kit a couple days ago and I’m so excited to try it! I get a slight allergic reaction from acrylic and the family isn’t a fan of the monomer smell in the house so hoping this will help solve my problems 🙏🏼

I just can't seem to get acrylic down. I used polygel once and it was so hard to get off I'll never touch it again. Dip works the best for me. Never tried hard gel. I'm used to getting across, now that I do my own im used to that hardness.

I love gel polish and builder gel in a bottle. I can't breath around acrylic, plus I own spa and I don't want that smell around. You can do so much with gel now then you could years ago. Gel did come along way.

Hypothetically can you use hard gel as an extension for nail biters though? Just curious. Thank you for the video. I use hard gel and Polygel. They are the easiest for me to work with. I've tried acrylic but my family can't stand the smell and I couldn't get it down.
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc Жыл бұрын
You can, but acrylic has a little more flexibility that is ideal for nail biters. If you want to use hard gel, you can sculpt the free edge with acrylic and then build the rest of the body of the nail with hard gel. Then when your client comes in for fills you can do so with hard gel.

I started with gel because i thought acrylic would be too hard.. turns out I’m wayy better at acrylic than gel lol gel drives me bonkers for so many reasons, but i do see areas/reasons where it would be better to use. Each system serves it’s own purpose in some ways!

I offer hard gel, soft gel, acrylic, conversion dip services as well as the classic mani and pedi services in my salon. It’s all YN products! There’s a huge line of products, literally at my fingertips that meet my client needs! My advice to anyone is to stay current with all techniques, even if you don’t currently offer them. You never know when the opportunity may arise! And, money is money! I’m not going to send someone who may be my lifelong gel client away because of that one time they asked me for acrylic.

I developed an allergy from a “reputable Salon” after about 7 visits. They did a great job, but……??? Something went wrong and I watched them like a hawk, because I didn’t want an allergy. I asked all the question you guys said we should ask…still got an allergy😳…not allergic to anything else but acrylic and now gel. My nails are thin…I would like them to at least look nice. Do you have any recommendations on what I can do or should I give up…love your videos…you guys awesome. Thanks guys. ☺️

We would recommend consulting with your healthcare provider concerning your allergy so the reaction doesn't get worse or lead to other allergies. If you are not able to use nail products, you could use full coverage tips and do press on sets.

Can you use the color acrilic with gel? I mean to mix acrilic with clear gel. Greetings Santie Malan from South Africa
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc Жыл бұрын
Yes you can, just make sure you aren't using so much of the acrylic that the color is too dense. If it is too dark/dense, the light may not be able to cure all the way through.

Have you been to a doctor/allergist to figure out exactly what you are allergic to? There may be a specific chemical that you're reacting to and without knowing that, it's hard to recommend what products you might still be able to use.
