I'd like to know how each type overcome or deal with hardships. I'm an ENFP so I'm usually very emotional. However, when I had a really difficult time, I became more objective and did tons of research about neuroscience and psychology to figure out why my brain makes me feel certain ways. I kept searching for practical solutions cuz it felt safe to think I can control my crazy emotions. I wonder if other types have had similar situations. 🤔 (Going through that time was so worth it. I grew a lot. I also had my INFJ friend by my side and I'm so thankful for her. 😌💓)

ENFJ and I relate. Except I'm like "I don't really want to hurt anyone... How do I do this?" There are some situations where I'm going to be screaming though. Those kids who try to get away with stuff when substitute teachers are there? Yeah. They feel my wrath. I tattled on the entire class once because I was so mad at a few kids. Our teacher assumed I was telling on myself. I was SO MAD that I took the some of the blame for others' actions because I knew that the whole class would be punished.

I already know this is going to be long. I am an INFJ girl who is friend with an INFP ,ENFP ,INTJ andINFJ. All of them are AMAZING people and i like them so much. but the funny thing is that non of them really tolerate each other! And strangely i feel safe and comfortable with all of them .my relationship with each type is like: INTJ: she is my logical , smart, quiet friend whom think she is always right.(and she actually is lol) i feel relax around her. We talk about the life, society, philosophy etc.. i always find myself questioning my beliefs and ideas and she kinda helped me become more open minded person. Although i think she really doesn't care about my point of view about things, unless she believes in that view too. If that happens u can see a very interesting conversation between us That can continue for hours. INFJ: i can say she is a blessing in my life. When i feel the most misunderstood i remember there is some one out there who knows EXACTLY what i feel and what i went through. Most things we talk about is our imaginations and our inner world where the world is better place to live and we have our own set of rules. She is like my twin. When i feel down i find her feel that way too. When i can't study she text me she can't study too.its wierd... lol. ENFP: when i think of her a giant smile appears on my face. The only friend of mine that can take me out of my shell. I can say she is like my younger sister that i don't have and when i'm with her i enjoy every moment of my life. I know she has interesting ideas in deep conversations but i often find myself laugh with her, talking about silly jokes and wierd ideas (which she is great in that stuff), watch movies or talk about fantasy novels that we read. And finally my INFP friend. If i want to talk about her i should write a book about how amazing, how fascinating she is. And i'm not exaggrating. I can say my life divide in two sections.my life before meeting her ,and life after meeting her. I can't even describe our relationship. it's so strange and unique that can't put into words. I always thought i know what feeling means. I thought i know the meaning of love, but after meeting her, i understood i knew NOTHING. The inner feeling of INFP is so deep and complex that i wish just for a moment i could get in touch with that.i won't say much about them. u just have to meet them to know what im talking about. And ofcourse they won't open up to u easily. She is the only person i can cry and get lost in emotions without fear to get hurt. And i know no one is going to read this 😂 but i just feel i need to write this to say that all of u guys are WONDERFUL . dont underestimate yourself. I wish i could meet other personalities it's my goal in life to understand othertypes better. Thank u for being who u are :) And if u survived till here thank u alooooot and sorry for my mistakes in writing. 💜

Its like a place with people and stories which i'm the main charecter and i completely get lost in it.But for some people daydreaming is like get lost in emotions. Thinking about sth that makes u happy or thinking about future. Most of infjs do that , like they predict the future and how is gonna be. thats why we can't focus in the present. At my high school graduation, my mentor’s little speech about me involved how I was always authentic. I don’t have too many friends. I prefer quality over quantity in that regard. I have three truly close friends and none of them were in my class. I’m honesty proud to hear he pointed out my authenticity. Even though we didn’t really know each other that well at all. Even the people I’m really close to know but the slightest hint of what really goes on in my head.

Pretty correct, as an INFP. My parents have often praised me for a having a unique way of looking at things. Which ranges from certain angles when making photos, to worldviews and values of mine being reflected in my writing. It’s part of why I like storytelling especially. It’s often such a great, playful, roundabout way to tell something, or teach a lesson. Unless a story/franchise gets too commercialised… which happens far too often…

As an INTP I can say that your explanation is very accurate at least in my experience. I am a professional over-thinker, I love logic puzzles and in my mind I analyze every concept and idea that comes my way. The downside to this is that I overthink things that are meant to just be enjoyed like If the plot of a movie or book doesn’t make sense or there is an inconsistency I see it and it ruins it for me. Or if I make a mistake or say the wrong thing I cant get it out of my mind and it eats me up as I come up with different things I should have said or done.

I said this in the live chat, but imma say it again. The strength of the INFP no one ever talks about is they're the best at reading/understanding people's characters; the sort of person someone is; the intentions behind someone's actions and how a person might act in the future given their character. I know INFJs are gonna say they're better at it, but INFJs are better at reading a room - human emotions and how to influence those emotions. It's a bit different.

This is such an ENTP thing to say but it’s interesting to me how the introverted and extraverted intuitive types contrast completely. You’re so right. The NI types reduce everything into one meaning by making the definitions more broad (so that everything fits into that all-encompassing bucket). While the NE types expand everything into endless meanings by making definitions more distinct (so that one thing can be defined in many equally true but varying ways). I love finding distinctions in things. Understanding why similar things are different from each other.

I, as an INFP, have really strong feelings on certain types of art. I primarily prefer prose. Not as much poetry, because I cannot get attached to it as much. I like certain genres of music, but a lot of it… not much… at all. I like good films and series and such. And I like photography. But like… painting and sculpting… I’m no good as such art forms. At the more, physical art forms, I’d say. Though I am good at physically playing the piano (but music is auditory, so not a visual art form). I guess I’m a pretty classic INFP in that regard.

I’m an INFP and I would just kindly tell them I got the wrong drink, simple as that 😄 Maybe you’re young, and you have time to learn, that’s fine. But building self confidence will help you, I assure you! The person behind the counter made a mistake, everybody does that sometimes. And you payed money for your drink, you want the right one of course. Tell them what happened! 😅 If I worked at a Starbucks I’d want the customers to tell me if I made a mistake, because they paid money for something specific and I’d like to help them get that. And I hope every service minded person would think that way, so next time don’t hesitate. It’s their job. Also it’s not a big thing. They just fucked up a little 😂

i was like "i'm an infp but i'm an artist" then i realized i only ever do abstract art and whenever it gets too close to the real world i don't like it anymore - well

As an INFJ, I’ve never had someone describe that part of me before, and it’s pretty cool to hear what it’s attributed to... I find that I am literally always, on some level, pondering in this reductive way, and then challenging that and being in awe over how complex everything also is. Like I’m constantly zooming in and out between these two perspectives of the same thing... everything, which is in itself, possibly reductive 😅 there’s... just a lot going on out there and in here 😂 Tbh, while I do like it, I find it annoying, kind of boring at times, and I sometimes feel anxious that I am incapable of perceiving anything without these frames, and how this might be limiting me without me knowing.

as an ISFP, I think one of Fi's greatest strengths is their strong ability to truly sympathize with other people. Because of our ability to think internally and gain such a strong grasp of our own emotions, we can easily envision ourselves in somebody else's shoes, which keeps us very open-minded. When somebody describes to us a situation that we've never been in before, we're really good at imagining how we would have felt if that situation happened to us. Though nobody would ever fully grasp how a situation feels when they've never been in it, I think Fi (probably especially dominant Fi) makes people get the closest to feeling what the other person is feeling and can be great listeners for it. And our grasp on how the other person is feeling in their situation is just going to be even stronger if we've actually already gone through a similar experience before. I think a common assumption made about Fi by people who don't have a strong Fi is that we're assumed to only work for ourselves. In reality, who we choose to work for is entirely dependent on the person, and Fi is entirely capable of being used to help out other people, especially if the Fi user truly cares about others. I think we always get seen as selfish under the assumption that only Fe users want to help others. But from what I've heard and experienced personally, Fi is just as capable to be a selflessly used trait. I just wanted to say that because of my initial apprehension when I heard my type was dominant Fi, because websites I read made it sound like it was the most selfish function to dominate in, and I had never thought of myself as a super selfish person and I thought maybe I had been fooling myself this entire time. But since then, I have learned better, and I want to help other ISFPs and INFPs who might still be under my initial apprehension that just because we're dominant Fi, doesn't mean we're the most selfish and self-serving people. And don't let anybody tell you otherwise. You are you.

Thank you! I think IxFPs are some of the kindest people out there. I think it's like you said, Fi users feel other people's feelings by channeling them out of themselves, really feeling them which makes their empathy really authentic. I love you guys. My best friend is an INFP and my bf is one too (though he's 50:50 between INFP and ENFP) -- ENFP

Life as an INFP: wishing some type of invention existed that could make other people feel exactly what you're feeling. that way other people can "get it" and you don't have to explain your reasoning lol

With a strong Ni, ISTPs focus on patterns too; we just tend to reality test our theories and tend also to contemplate theories dealing with real-world practicalities.

That’s one of the best things about ISTPs. When they’re well-developed they’re often as concretely-practical as they are abstractly-theoretical.
