You totally cracked me up in those first 20 seconds...Cause you're RIGHT!! I upgraded for my business to Gsuite, and bloody hell...I AM SO LOST!! but I think you answered my issue. I thought I had to create a gmail adres to create this Gsuite...But you're so right...they try to make life simple but then just confuse you. Keep up the good work.

Good video. Thanks, Steve. It is confusing and you clarified it. I got a Chromebook 4 years ago and did not have either a Google or Gmail account. I used an aol email to set up my Chromebook and then got a Gmail account. Everything worked fine until a couple of weeks ago. My login page changed. The default login wanted me to add the password I used to sign in with my AOL address. I use the same password for my Gmail account and my Chromebook account. I had trouble getting access to Google services like Gmail and Google Keep. They wouldn't work and I was told I was offline when I wasn't. I tried numerous things such as clearing my history and setting my Chromebook to default. Nothing worked until I did a Powerwash. That worked like a charm.

I love my GSuite account. No ads in my email and unlimited Google Drive storage for $10 per month... totally worth it.

GSuite has multiple levels. Basic comes with 30 GB Storage. Business/Enterprise with 1 TB or >5 users Unlimited Storage.

Yes, absolutely right about the G Suite! My school has created unique email addresses that connect to the G Suite and do much more. Collectively, all the teachers, administrators and coaches in the entire school can use, access, create, share all documents uploaded onto G Suite and work on a document simultaneously all at the same time and more. But what I’m trying to understand is the difference between the G Suite and Google classroom? I was trying to connect my class to G Suite, but it seems like that’s a whole different application within Google. Either way, this video has enlightened on some little tips that I wasn’t aware of. I didn’t even know there was a difference between Gmail and Google accounts. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Always looking forward to your videos!

You hit the nail on the head. I had been asking myself the same question. I have an English school here in Brazil and, due to the pandemic, I have been giving classes online. Sometimes, a student misses a class. And I was wondering if I could have the class recorded so I would send it to the absentee so I would not have to set up a different day for a makeup class. A G-suite account is kind of pricey for my standarts. $1 = R$5.60 here, give it or take. Thank you anyway.

Nice video and good topic, thank you..A good follow up would be how to best manage when you have both Gsuite for your business and a personal Gmail/Google account for home use. Moving back and forth between the two can be quite confusing. Love Google overall but the UI, not so much.

Thanks Steve, this really helps. You’re awesome! I was wondering if we can use our personal gmail and make it a gsuite account or do we have to create a separate email for a gsuite account? Reason I ask is cause one major feature gsuite has is the ability to share or delegate contacts with someone to help you manage them. I don’t know of any programs that allow you share contacts or groups besides some third party apps such as Shared Groups and gsuite seems to be the work around for it. I just don’t want to create another email for gsuite account especially if we don’t have a business but would like the features of gsuite.

We love out G-suite account, and use it to have personal email adresses to our family. We were some of the last ones, who got it under the old rules. So we just pay a certain amount every year for all.. Not per user. but we can have 10 email adresses for 1 amount..

As a G-suite user I have had to figure this out myself but was definitely as confused as you are. Now can you explain the Microsoft account variations? Between Microsoft office and Skype and windows, I get irritated when I’ve created a password for one and then realize that it has messed up the password for the other. Those are even more confusing LOL.

Thanks for the explanation....it definitely helps....but I think there maybe another account that you didn't mention. Does Google still have "BRAND ACCOUNTS" because I think I might have one. But not sure my Brand account knows about my GSuite account and they may be working against each other rather than working together. I wish there were Google experts that could trust and hire to look at my situation and advise or fix my multiple account issues.

Help Steve!!! I use GSuite for business and Gmail for personal use. We've added in Google Nest to the mix - Google well and truly has us now! However, how on earth do I get Nest to link to my Google calendar when the Nest is set up via my personal Gmail, but my Google calendar/Keep etc via my business GSuite email address? TIA

Hi Steve! Thanks so much for this video! I do have one question that I think is still confusing to others as well. I have several gmail addresses. Based on what you've said in this video, that means I have several Google accounts, correct? If that's the case, if I want to delete just ONE of my gmail address (accounts), if I delete that one gmail account (address) then I am only deleting ONE of my several Google accounts, is that correct? I realize that I have to be signed into the gmail address I want to delete in order to this. Is there anything else I need to know? Thanks so much for your expertise!

Thanks a lot I was so confused 🤷🏼‍♀️ when this morning I was asked to change the payment details to pay for the emails account for one of our companies in South America that uses google. So hard 😫now I realise that I was login in google account but I didn’t in the g suit that why I couldn’t see the console to associate the bill to a new credit card 💳 thanks for the explanation 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇦🇺

Good explanation, as usual from Steve. I still don't understand how come I can sign-in to other accounts such as my G&M account via my Google account. Google seems to act as a "master key" to a lot of sites. How come ?

I agree the "Gmail account" is a term that was used when Google only had Gmail.as an app login and it stuck. Gmail = just one app of all Google apps under the Google account (free). Google account =all google apps and services (free). G Suite account - its a paid plan business account like Office 365 business account with all types fo Google services and apps but under a paid G suite account and specifically G Suite only apps and special G suite marketplace.

thanks for this and any other gmail and google stuff you will offer. I need help. others without businesses too. I have the google drive account though i hardly use it or know how to. I went through 17 versions of a talk i was to give , then discovered the host had cancelled the event. recently my wife and I decided to attend a meeting of the Yiddish book center where the plays of Sholem Asch will be discussed and i received a number of items to review before the event which require a knowldege of GSuite. I do not have the knowledge. You can help, Steve. More Googlish stuff. I know they are taking over the world and I hate that but....I need them...er...it.

Very nice, thank you. However, I'm trying to find out where One fits in all this. And . . . I'd like to know if I can close a Google account, get rid of the random email address linked to it, but not lose the recovery email address or the alternate email address of the account. Soooo, I was wondering if getting a One account would be worth it because that is the only place I have found the possibility of there being a Google expert to answer those questions. Google is so strange not to have the ability to communicate its system(s).

Yes. You will still be tracked. Also, be aware that if you have Google home devices, they are not able to access GSuite email or calendars. Crazy, I know, but Google can’t access their own GSuite accounts on Google home devices.

Thank you for this. Really helps differentiate things. I've been trying to figure out how to clean up my account. I have several email/ Gmail accounts connected to my Google account. I'm trying to delete ones I don't need. ( I started a business and stupidly couldn't figure out what the name would be. The problem is that I need to delete the Gmail account that is my google account email. It's where all my photos and data are located. I've tried changing my email back to what I created my Google account with, but I'm unable to change it. Do you have any advice on how to go about doing this? I've tried exporting but must be doing it wrong.

Do you recommend another business email company? I feel Google is very intrusive and don't know if all the GSuite Services is worth it at the end of the day. Whats your opinion on Microsoft 365 or Proton mail for business emails? I am the only person in my company for fashion ecommerce.

could you please help me, I have a Huawei P30 Pro and I have 8 Gmail accounts and 3 yahoo accounts, in the Sync Account, I have turned of everything which is Sync Calendar, Contacts, Docs, Drive, Gmail, Google fit Data, Google Play Movie &Tv, Google Play Music, People Details, Sheets and Slides, will I still receive emails etc and is 8 gmails ok on my battery, also should I remove my 3 yahoo accounts from the Google Accounts bit.

I am always impressed on how google can make this SO confusing ! Why they don't create like a simply Wizard guided by AI or something that ask you some questions and just give you the right service you want. I am always confuse to manage my stuff on google, it's Gmail, Workspace, GSuite the names of stuff changes and UI changes, it's a really crap user interface all over. :(

I have a Gmail account with Gmail, Chat, Calendar, Tasks, etc set up. Now thinking of migrating to Workspace (the old Gsuite). Will I be able to keep using the existing Gmail setup while enjoying the extra features of Workspace? Or are these two seperate platforms? If so, can I somehow migrate my Gmail setup to Workspace, continue as usual, just with the Workspace added benefits?

You can have a non google email address and simply forward to your gmail account and automagically put incoming emails into a folder in gmail. That way you can handle multiple email accounts from a single login. If that’s all you need, there’s no need to go to a g suite account.

I've found another Google beast! It's "your brand account". I have no idea what it is. I started to login to my google account (login is my business email) and Google asked me if I want to login with my google account or my brand account. Who knows what is it?

With Google photos becoming a paid subscription after 15 gb I really don't want to have all these duplicates. Have you discovered a way to 1. avoid duplicates going to google photos? they are NOT duplicating on my iPhone/iPad or Mac - just when they get backed up to google photos. and 2. Any idea how to quickly bulk delete duplicates on Google photos?

In a regular Gmail account, in your settings, you can add other email accounts that you own so people never know that you are using your old, old account but you have the Google saftey features and, of course, you have everything in one place. I don't understand the need for a Google account.

I think really the way to think about it is that when you create a Gmail account, you are automatically creating a Google account using that e-mail address. The Google account is the holder within which all those other google services reside.

Good afternoon, if i explain my problem to you, from my personal computer i can watch videos on youtube but on my android phone it says Gsuite restricted for this video, (this video is restricted. Try signing in with a G suite account. there was a problem with the server [400] ) i already modified the restricted mode on my computer and still cannot watch my videos on my android phone, nor can i commenting on the youtube videos says restricted mode for this video, could you help me with that. thanks and blessings.

Hello Steve , Im trying to figure out a solution to my problem. It started with my iPhone passcode constantly requesting a change. It's my personal iPhone however the company I work for gave access to G suite. Which the company has control ( so it forces me to change my passcode like every 60 days ) So I want to remove my company gmail account off my personal phone. Can you advise me on that ? Or do I need some type of administrative permission. Confused... lol... do i just delete company email or g suite?

If you use the Gmail app, here's how to remove your Google account: 1. Open the Gmail app. 2. Select the menu (three stacked lines), then select "Manage Accounts" followed by "Edit." 3. Tap "Remove" next to the account you want gone, and confirm your choice. 4. Select "Done" on the top left.

What do you mean by "received" ?? As in you are an employee of a company? Then of course! They own whatever you do. If you yourself signed up and are paying for your acct, then YOU are the admin.

Thank you for this video, I actually DESPISE Google but have had an email account with them since 2006 and I use the Calendar and KZfaq obsessively. I'm stuck with Satan - I mean Google! My issue is getting into the admin console specifically to try to remove the huge "Add Google Meet Video Conferencing" banner when I open up a new event. I think it's very recently gotten more prominent and it's definitely more noticeable. I NEVER video conference. What exactly do I have to do to get rid of it? I'm not going to pay Google $$ for a G Suite account. Thank you! P.S. I use Calendar mostly on Windows 10 but also on Android and I still have a working iPhone, so iOS as well.
