Boom! This was the perfect video for me, right now I'm playing a level 6 Paladin who too the oath of vengeance. I still get confused lol

I personally like this oath. I'm currently playing with an Oath of Vengeance Paladin, that I'll soon be tying up with Hexblade Warlock, that her whole story (And why she has chosen the Oath of Vengeance in the first place) is because she has suffered a lot of mental traumas and general prejudice (because she's a tiefling), which made her become wrathful, violent and self-destructive. But because she doesn't see a way to actually take vengeance against the world the wronged her so much, and because she's quite empathetic towards suffering and violence that others felt, as she felt before... She had decided to partake in their vengeance and become an avenger. In a way, she does so because she seeks catharsis and to change the people and the world around her, even if through the only way she knows: Through violence and rage. Not that she thinks that it's the way to change it, but she firmly believes that this is a necessary part of the process. Destruction, so that new life can spring anew from the ashes of the burnt one. And, the part of the Hexblade is because... Well, she has the Haunted one background. So, there's also a ghost in the story, that knows more about her than she even does, and will act as her patron... Except she will not be a willing part, and he will literally drag out her devilish nature (which is the part of her nature she fears the most)and give her more power since she's his tool. Though, why? What is his plan? Well... I'm letting the DM decide. it also fits very well because she's a character from Curse of Strahd. It will be fun, xD.

Do you have to start as a Regular Paladin and then Turn into a Paladin Oath of Vengeance? Or can you start as a level 1 oath of Vengeance?

I created an Oath of Vengeance Paladin whose whole deal is smiting tyrants. Arthax, the Tyrant Slayer When he was young, his parents were executed for speaking out against a local Duke. He swore the Oath, crushed the duke's skull with a hammer and let everyone ransack the palace You may hide in your palaces of gold, I shall turn them to dust You may hide behind your soldiers and thugs, I shall bathe in their blood You may hide behind your lies and propaganda, for I know the truth Let no tyrant survive, vengeance shall be mine

I think the flavor of this paladin is great, I just think the crunch of the class leaves something to be desired. Boondock Saints were "Oath of Vengeance" paladins. Change my mind.... they even had their oath in the movie.
