What is the QUEEN BEETLE FERRY really like? Fukuoka to Busan

The next part of our journey took us across the Korea Strait on the Queen Beetle Ferry from Fukuoka, Japan to Busan, South Korea. In this quick video we discuss our time on the boat, our experiences and our advice for travellers.
We boarded on a very windy morning which led to large waves and a rough ride at 37 Knots(~68km/h or 42mph) for around a total of 3.5 hours. While it was a beautiful boat with great amenities we were not able to enjoy most of them due to the water conditions and persistent nausea. Even with the rough ride and illness, we still had fun and are happy to have had the experience.

Looks like you had a pretty choppy trip, I read on their website that they cancel the voyage for waves exceeding 3m. I am taking it in late April, I hope the water is a bit calmer 😅

We wish you good weather when you go in April! Even with the big waves, it’s a memory we all can look back on and laugh…now.

I took the ferry on 4th april 2024... Big waves ;) 50% of the passengers were vomiting, the ferry kept jump-flying over the waves. For me, personally, it was an amazing ride (no seasickness here), loved every second of it :D some people will feel sick just by listening to (or worse: watching) other passengers reactions. If you are unsure if you get seasick, just get the pill they hand out, and keep the papre bag ready - for you or person sitting next to you.
