What it's like walking a 175 pound tortoise

Tiptoe loves his walks and during spring/summer, we try to take him out daily. We have been taking him on walks since he was 10 or so and it has become such a great part of our routine :)

What a fun walk! So glad he can meet so many nice friends! So funny to see him stop and think what he wants to do! Was fun to see the tiptoe view of the walk too! I bet that soak felt good after his walk bet he was thirsty too!

How intelligent are tortoises? Does Tiptoes know where home is? Like horses speeding up going back to the barn, does he speed up when he sees his driveway? He's feisty, and I saw some great break-away moves there. Is that motivated by maybe smelling tortoises (female)on the other side of the street? Whatever the case, I love his eyes and watching your videos. Our animal family makes our lives better by far. Thank-you for your enthusiasm and education.

I Love How Giddy Tip Toe Was To Start Out His Walking, And Then Tip Toe Just Sat Down And Relaxed Pulling His Feet In In His Nice Warm Pool. So Sweet🐢❤️🐢

@@caitlinandtiptoe it’s very kind of you. I very much enjoy the videos. He is gorgeous and your love/commitment to him is commendable. People need to realize these wonderful animals are precious. They have feelings and need care & love. Everything needs love. I have beautiful tree people. I play my tribal music for them, talk to them, tell them that I love them, etc. So many animals aren’t well cared for or abandoned. Humanity must do better. I love the way he look’s at you. Certainly see his love for you. He lights up. You are perfect together. Thanks so much for the videos.

Man . . . . huge kudos for taking such good care of Tiptoe . . . I have a small Iraqi desert tortoise with 3 legs (dog bit off one) and he's a handful. It's amazing how much a small tortoise can eat . . . can't imagine Tiptoe's grocery bill !!!

I’d adopt Tiptoe in a minute to come and live at my house, if I had a big yard and space for his pool. And I’d take him around to meet the kids at all the local schools. Kids would be just thrilled to meet a 175-pound tortoise! And especially a tortoise with so much personality & charisma! And so handsome! ❤️😍🥰

I applaud you for standing by your commitment to Tiptoe. Sulcatas are one of the more surrendered animals largely because pet stores and traders don't emphasize the level of commitment nearly enough. I cringe every time I see babies for sale and hope to be in a situation where I can adopt an adult eventually.

Great. Liked the adventure. Nice touch with the background music. 😊does he ever get any protein besides the calcium powder? My turtles loved snails 😧. But you are not in Houston where they were plentiful.
