Yes being young it might take these advantages away, but I am 73 and as long as I can get around without pain I am happy. It took awhile but it happened.

@@merkerface I've had 3 surgeries now. I had to have my left femur cut in half, my leg rotation, my bone re-shaped, and cartilage anchored. I ran ten miles less than a year into that recovery. A few months ago, I tore my tensor fascia muscle in half and got a major infection from internal bleeding. Had to have the 8 screws removed from my leg and a surgery to wash out the infection and reattach the muscle. My last surgery was less than a month ago. I'm already back in the gym lifting and riding on a bike. The incision is about 14 inches long, so it's painful, but my pain tolerance is high enough to where its not really interfering with my activities *that* much. I had my leg reconstructed at 27 and im now 29. The reconstruction was by far the toughest recovery and i always had some lingering pain and mobility restrictions because of all the metal in my leg. I think now that the metal has been removed, it'll be alot better, but it's hard to tell after just having two surgeries back to back.

Rust_In_Peace512 wow, my god. Sounds you like you’ve had a terrible time of it! That is some extreme surgery you’ve undergone. I have rheumatoid arthritis in my left hip and will have to get surgery at some point. So it is good to hear you were able to ride a bike and hit the gym after such extreme surgery. What condition brought on all these surgeries if you don’t mind me asking? Was it a mix of a chronic condition and then accidents? Why did you initially need hip replacements as well? @@merkerface i have a condition called femoral retroversion and hip impingement. I got into fitness when i was 20 and participated in powerlifting and long distance running. The head of my femur didnt fit inside my hip. The bones would grind together and it prematurely destroyed my hips. I was not a candidate for hip replacement because I'm too young, so I had to have reconstructive preservation surgery. It's a much longer recovery than a hip replacement because they have to break, reshape and realign the biggest bone in your body and screw it back together. So you have to learn how to walk again because it completely changes your mechanics. Also, i could not put weight on it for 3 months. Hip replacements I hear are no joke but you can put weight on it immediately, which is a HUGE deal when it comes to cutting down on recovery time. After i had my left leg reconstructed, most of the pain in my right hip went away. My left hip's cartilage was absolutely mangled. I chose to do the surgery because I was in debilitating pain and I was only getting worse. I am in law enforcement and I want to be active. I was back to full duty in a year. The surgery was a massive success, and the only reason I needed more work done is because I tore my tensor fascia muscle in half during a foot pursuit. If that hadn't happened, I'd probably have never had the metal removed. If you're in a ton of pain I recommend surgery!

I gave birth to 2 kids, hip pain was worse. I thought a 45 year old should wait due to needing a new one in 25 years but apparently they have a low failure rate even after years. I would have it done asap and start enjoying life again. The operation was not bad, just do everything they tell you to do.

@@saran3214 I'm 12 weeks post op now and feeling so grateful I made the choice to have the surgery. I would almost go so far as using the word "miracle" when describing how much better I feel now. The rehab exercises have helped me drop some lb's along the way also which is a side benefit!

I had right hip replacement a month ago, I’m 63 , I’m already walking without a cane and road cycling every other day 11 to 16 miles still doing physical therapy twice a week and feel awesome I’ve been in so much pain for a year due to osteoarthritis , I had prolotherapy and didn’t help (I guess I was no longer a candidate) . If I would ha e known how marvelous I would have felt I’d taken the decisions long time ago!!! I had the anterior approach and the recovery time is a lot shorter without any movement precautions or restrictions!!!! If you’re thinking in doing GO FOR IT, I’m amazed!!!

Doesn't matter how old u are it still hurts, when your the young one like I was with no pain anywhere, until I got 70 5hen the hip needed replacement.

Hi Archie, I agree, a replaced hip will never be as good as a normal healthy human hip joint, however I must say it is very close to it (as I compare my replaced left hip with my healthy right hip). I guess thats why we have hip replacements, to fix and replace a hip that unfortunately has become unwell in life or due to an accident and requires to be replaced. I have the goal to keep my replaced hip healthy and functioning for the remainder of my life (which there are a few decades left) so I dont try and get the most out of it, instead I have adjusted my life to be comfortable and to protect my new hip so it lasts for as long as possible. Ive already had the first hip replacement entirely replaced once so to have a third hip will mean a more complicated surgery so I need to keep this second one as well looked after as I can.

I am going to start back up with my vlogs again soon. Yes I tend to go with shark bite which raises eye brows :)

Simple fall in dislocated especially with those kind of activities I don't believe he can honestly say never but you will know your limits when you get it

I am sorry to hear that you feel this way. I have had my left hip operated on 7 times which included 2 full hip replacements. If my positive waffle doesnt agree with your situation after your own hip replacement operation then I am truly sorry to hear that. Every operation result is different and all I am trying to do is share my story of having a bone eating tumour removed and finding relief with a total hip replacement.
