Saika I got Skyrim a year or so after it’s release for Christmas and I remember playing it on my older brother’s Xbox 360 in his room and he bought this really nice smelling Glade air freshener called Cashmere Woods that he would spray in his room after cracking open the window and it smelled like cinnamon and pine so it would usually smell like that as I felt the cold wind come in from outside while I would play Skyrim which would really immerse me into the world. Now anytime I play Skyrim during winter I buy some of that air freshener spray it, open the window to let the cold air in, and I play Skyrim and it takes me back to being 11 years old and exploring Skyrim with that sense of wonder, awe, and peace that I had when I played it as a kid.

It's pretty obvious that even after almost 9 years, it is still significant and have outplayed games that are more recent than it. Edit: i know most of you would say witcher 3 is far better, and i agree with you. I played and love both games, witcher has better graphics, better story and prolly better overall, but skyrim has that magic in it that i can't explain. Even though i replayed witcher 3 several times, it still lead me back to skyrim and create a new playthrough that will somehow turned-out to be a sneaky archer. But tbh skyrim is one of those games that you'll always remember and never get bored replaying.

Witcher 3 is good for if you want to play an amazing story with incredible characters, but Skyrim is good for if you want to experience an awesome world through your own eyes. Tsyuna Desu Skyrim came out in 2011 and has sold about 30 million copies. Witcher 3 came out in 2015 and has sold about 25 million copies so I'd say your claim is quite exaggerated. I'm also gonna go out on a limb and assume your kid. Skyrim is a simpler game that children can understand so I can see why it would appeal more.
@petergriffin17974 жыл бұрын
@@codyvandal2860 I mean I understand your opinion the witcher 3 is a great game. But I must say skyrim is not a simple game. Sure some of its quest can be boring, but its lore is what makes it complex. the daedric princes, the dragon war, Alduins War and if we we're as to go as far as Elder Scrolls Universe Lore then The heart of Nirn, Sovngaurde and even Akavir. There is a lot more complexity to Skyrim then you think. Witcher 3 and Skyrim are both fantastic games and don't get me wrong the witcher has some good lore too. But you must consider that Skyrim is a 8 year old game the witcher 3 is a 4 year old game. So think about it this way skyrim is old and it stills has a massive following and you have to give it props for that. All in all These games are both great but it's quite dumb to compare the both despite the age difference so be more considerate even if this person is a kid or not

I'm constantly sucked into the elder scrolls universe, it's just so well written and rich with lore and potential. I recently wrote a whole small kingdom in the jeral mountains south of Skyrim, based in geothermic canyons, which my character, an imperial, Skyrim-born Dragonborn takes hold of and leads as king while preparing to take over the ruby throne via a siege. Even on the switch, the game is stunning and immersive, and because of this deep attachment and expectations, other games fail to impress me and hold my attention for more than a few months. Breath of the wild was amazing, but after a while the emptiness and lack of serious worldbuilding and deep character creation get old, the puzzles were fun but it's definitely not that replayable. If full dive and ai generated quests and the freedom to do whatever comes to the elder scrolls, I'd love to replay as a dragon soul-devouring badass who is able to make my written kingdom come to life.

That could be the easiest and hardest answer at the same time. When I first played Skyrim, it truly felt as if I was learning to live in that world. Each character had their own history, schedule, affinity towards the player... It was so rich in details that I just couldn't stop playing and going deeper in that lore. The immersion presented in that game is still unique in so many levels that even today it is a game that endured the test of time and still enjoyable. The easy answer? Because it was a game made to absorb the player and made them learn about the world. The more complicated answer: it just feels like you are living in the game and you don't even understand how that is possible.
