The Undertaker vs Randy Orton feud from 2005 in my opinion is one of the greatest feuds of all time. This feud lasted almost the entire year and had some wild things happening. You name it and it probably happened in this feud. Insane amount of OMG moments. So lets go down memory lane and take a look at this iconic feud from the ruthless aggression era. 2005, what a year. Brian Mcminn Cuz it was funny. Like Randy was an top main eventer in his prime. Also the youngest world champ in history. He was also one of WWE's biggest stars and a huge draw at that time. Like he was given all that huge success away just to avoid the Undertaker 😆😆

He did but there are two theories 1.Undertaker and Creative Team wanted Randy to win but out of respect he didn’t want to break the Undertakers Streak. 2.Orton was supposed to win but backstage incidents changed that idea and had Undertaker win. I will go with 1 but nobody really knows besides Orton,Undertaker,Vince,and the Creative Team back then.

Back then, Randy Orton was must see tv, now, he's a piss break, THIS was his prime, he was money right here, after legacy, randy Orton started getting stale, he's had just as many heel/face turns as the big show, he's TOTALLY devoid of any semblance of charisma, his matches are "Mr. Hughes" levels of boring, Randy Orton in 2020 is basically the antithesis of Randy Orton in 2005

This feud was awesome. It felt like a horror psychological movie as undertaker was a demon and randy was a hero trying to conquer fear. Not to mention back when hell in a cell was special, scary, and the place to end feuds. Love the good old days.

That was the moment when his Legend Killer persona reached its' climax. Taker was the only one left on his list. And the fact that it was an inter-brand feud at first made it more awesome. A guy from Raw is challenging a legend from Smackdown. Damn! The timing is perfection lol. I can still clearly remember how he RKO'd poor Stacy that night on Raw, turning heel on the process...

raze Agree there was inter-brand feuds at Wrestlemania 21 you had Orton and HBK,the top stars on Raw challenging Angle and Taker,the top stars on Smackdown. It was great as both matches were a classic. Also RKoing Stacy made him a top heel again in WWE.

yeah in terms of his character but in terms of wrestling ability 2007-2009 was taker's prime years and it peaked in 2010 at wm 26 with the match with shawn taker was still a very good wrestler after that too but in late 2000s he was the top 5 in ring performers for wwe

Everything about the Undertaker vs Randy Orton feud was fantastic, it had great matches, great buildup, fiery promos and memorable segments. After constantly getting buried by Triple H and Evolution not to mention having a very lukewarm run as a face which resulted in fans slowly turning on him in favour of Batista, Randy Orton turning heel and challenging Taker in a legend vs legend killer at WM21 was his saving grace. They went out and had one of the best matches on the show plus Orton came very close to ending the streak. The program put Randy Orton back on the map and re established him as one of the top heels in the company, it was the best rivalry of 2005 and to this day it's one of my all time favourites.

I'm lucky that I was able to witness this feud when I was a teen, during a time where info-sharing isn't as great as now, reason why I was able to fully enjoy it without spoilers. Can you imagine how nervous I was when Randy tried to counter Taker with his own Tombstone Piledriver @ WM21?? My chest was beating so hard that time. I thought that was it haha. The biggest moment of this feud is probably that time when Team SmackDown won @ SS then as they were having a celebration, Taker surprisingly appeared at the end. Simply amazing!

This feud is the perfect example of the WWE saying that a lose to Undertaker is 5x better than a win over any other superstar.. Taker doesn't bury other superstar or squash them .. he legitimize them. This is my reason why I always wanted Taker to win on his final match.. because he doesn't need to lose to put over someone that's his star power.

Love the vid you're awesome. This is one of the greatest rivalries of the Ruthless Aggression Era cuz both men were in their prime also they were main eventers and was some of WWE's elite stars at the time. This rivalry was full of classic moments from Orton wanted to end the streak to him actually wanted to get rid of the Undertaker. There's a reason why WWE voted this the Rivalry of the Year cuz of the mind games, scary segments, great matches fiery promos and buildups. This rivalry also put Randy Orton back up there as one of the top heels in the company. Undertaker was relevant again thanks to his war with Orton. Both men played a huge part in each other's career. This rivalry is without a doubt a classic.

i was always a randy fan and my best friend was team taker, during this feud we got soooooo shitty with each other over who was better, nothing beats a feud like taker and orton. nothin but great memories :')

Damn I was 9 years old in 2005. I remember this feud but never could see the pay per views at the time cause my mother didnt want me watching Wrestling. Randy became my favorite every time he would be on smackdown with his father fighting Undertaker. Top 10 feud all time

Great Video PAV. I really liked your point at the end about how this feud didn’t even need a World Championship to make it any better, that’s a real testament to how all time great this was. Their individual characters at this time in both their careers really were a match made in heaven. How Undertaker looked coming out of that casket ⚰️ at the end of Survivor Series was truly peak Deadman for me!! Epic stuff

Yooooo this storyline was awesome from start to finish and it had 3 underrated matches that I don't see anyone talk about nowadays. We all know how awesome Taker and Orton's WrestleMania 21 match was, but their Summerslam match in August was great as well. The Handicap Casket Match at No Mercy in October was great and the feud ended with a really underrated Hell In A Cell Match at Armageddon in December. The feud also has some awesome segments like Orton "killing" Taker by driving him in the back of Eddie Guerrero's lowrider through the stage and that one backstage segment where Bob Orton's face was all bloody.

Bob Orton was actually fired due to not revealing he had Hepatitis C before that Hell in a Cell match, Undertaker was furious that they didn't tell him beforehand about Orton's disease.

This was a very very very underrated fued, one of them fued that’s quietly was one of the best fueds of all - time and both parties got great investments into there characters/careers after this as The Undertaker got a rejuvenated boost for his character and really solidify Randy Orton as a major major player in the years ahead. The winning of the world heavyweight championship his 1st time didn’t solidify him, the fued with Mick Foley for the I.C title was just a showcase of preparation of him being a top star, The fued with Triple H definitely didn’t do it but this Undertaker fued was the stamp of approval.
