He would have had to travel over an hour back into the city to get the new card. Manger made him put it all back. I went on break, gave the homeless man the $20 and returned to check him out. Manager questioned me, said I had no idea where he got the money from and when he was safely gone with him items, I quit.

I worked as a model at car shows, boat shows, and hot tub expos. When I performed at a car dealership event, typical model duties such as greeting guests, posing for photos, pour champagne, stand there and look pretty, etc., one of the guests got a little handsy with me. He also kept trying to ask me out. I politely but firmly resisted and refused him. The owner of the dealership came up to me and tried to get me to “go out on just one date” with that guy, who was a friend of the dealership owner. That guy was old enough to be my dad, wore a gold chain, and stank of Draco Noir. I firmly refused, and the owner threatened to blacklist me. I told him off, then I went to the break room, changed from my heels to my flats, put my heels in my tote bag, threw my coat on over my swimsuit, grabbed my tote bag, took my purse, and headed out. I was still able to find modeling work. The owner of that dealership was sued for sexual harassment a year later.

I worked for walmart about 5ish years ago. My brother was 10 and was diagnosed with Nodular Lymphatic Predominantly Hodkins Lymphoma. Its a very rare cancer for kids to get. My boss told me I could see him on his death bed. I handed them all of my keys and walked out in the middle of a Sunday where I was in charge of 6 dept.

Used to work for Wal-Mart years ago. We did not have a proper employee entrance at my location and this was before most Wal-Marts become 24 hours. My location closed at 10:00pm. Closing shift ended at 11:00pm, so we'd have an hour to clean up with no customers in the building. Since we didn't have an employee entrance, the front doors would be locked and when you were ready to leave, a manager would have to unlock the doors and let you out. One particularly busy day, I was working alone and was not able to finish cleaning up my department in time. My shift ended and I was not approved for overtime. I asked the manager to let me out and she asked if my department was done. I told her no, she told me to get back to it. I asked if I could clock back in. She said no. ...so I went out the fire escape. Five years later, I got a letter in the mail about a class action lawsuit against Wal-Mart for this very thing. It had apparently happened to lots more people. In the end, the case settled out of court and I got a check for $175 in the mail. Whoop dee doo.

I have a facial skin condition that flares up from time to time. During one of these flare-ups, we were having a staff meeting with 60+ people and I made a suggestion. A woman known to be a little shy/socially anxious raised her hand and contradicted me, arguing against what I'd suggested (the points she made were valid). The mid-level manager conducting the meeting said, word-for-word, "Thank you for giving your opinion, especially when Finch is so scary-looking this morning." I stood up and walked out. Profuse apologies from the mid-level manager, my boss, and the anxious lady who spoke up (not necessary, but her personality) ensued. I should have quit right then and there, but jobs in my area are sparse, and I've got a family to feed . . .

I worked 3 jobs in college and high school and got the "work is more important than your school speech" from all of them... 4 months after graduated I got a job making 4x what they paid me per hour.... turns out putting more time into getting good grades was a better idea.

I had a guy complaining I left a piece of plastic on a pallet after an 8 hour shift of loading 1500 bags of mulch for customers during a sale. i ALMOST walked out of a job because my manager accused me of being hungover (as a minor). i guess my coworkers had told my manager that my sister was visiting during a school break and it became suspicious when the next day i called out sick (i was legitimately sick). i was so angry that i couldn't speak for several hours but my mom read the messages and tore him a new one. he didn't look me in the eye for the next week and would also REGULARLY ask me if my mom was okay with me working under him. i love my momma

A fire alarm was going off, and the leads/managers told us to keep working because it was just a test. For 45. Fucking. Minutes. I walked out 15 minutes into it with an excruciating headache, and was met by the fire chief, who was there to test our response time. Another 30 minutes later, 45 minutes total, and the fire chief marched inside and had a fit. I never went back. Long story short, don't work for Chewy. Even just for some extra cash over the holidays.

I was working a minimum wage job at a popular coffee chain that was 45 minutes from my house. I literally did everything there; dishes, sweep and mop, food prep, drinks, trash, you name it, and I was still being treated like shit. I got done with sweep and mop about an hour after the boss left and it was just 3 other people and me. Well I go and do drinks and register and my coworker comes out from the back (after doing nothing as per usual) and asks me if I swept and mopped the back. Keep in mind that was the first thing I did because we were swamped up front. I kindly tell her that I did that first so of course its going to be a bit messy again since there was food prep happening back there after I got done. She visibly didn't believe me and went into the back and called the boss (keep in mind shes the bosses favorite). A few minutes later she comes back up front with the work phone in hand and an obvious fake 'innocent smile' and tells me, "*bosses name* wants to talk to you." I took the phone and went into the back and talked to the boss. The conversation basically went like this B: *owners name* already talked to you about this. You need to do your job properly. Me: okay. B: you need to sweep and mop the entire shop again. Me: *obviously upset* ok B: if you can't do it properly you should just find a new job. Soooo my boss basically told me to quit when I literally made sure the business was able to run properly. I swept the entire back and texted my parents to pick me up since they had the car that day then went up front and told my friend (who also worked there) what just happened. I was close to tears because this wasn't the first time something like this happened. My parents showed up almost an hour before me shift ended and I just clocked out and left.

What made me walk out of work? Second job I ever had, one night the owners were berating me and others calling us names, and I just walked out and told them I quit. Best, decision, ever. Months later they closed up shop. Serves them right.

Quit an fast food job after just over a month of being there because higher ups kept on blaming me for mistakes that were made by other employees. Even after me witnessing it and telling them it wasn't my fault, that I was honest and always owned up to my actual mistakes, they kept blaming me and tried to guilt trip me for the numerous complaints they were getting that didn't even concern me. The franchisee was also a creepy old lady. And one of the supervisors screamed at me for closing the window on a couple at drive thru after I gently told them I needed to find that said supervisor for help. That and creepo grabbing my ass were my last straws. I was "let go" a week into my two weeks notice I had given them.

I was 17 , one of my first construction jobs. Guy wanted me to hang my torso off the edge of the top floor of a deck on an apartment and use a Sawzall to cut this piece that made the saw rebound off the deck every time you tried to cut it. Asked for a harness , he basically said what are you scared and tried it and kept bouncing the Sawzall off the deck like I was . We had a conversation where I said I'm not superman and he said I need you to be superman. My coffee break came in 5 minutes. I grabbed my shit and went home . Sent him a text saying I quit.

I worked for a place for five years. Had never done anything to get myself in trouble (never late. Worked hard) I ended up getting put on new meds that messed with my sleep. (I didn't hear my alarm one morning) and they immediately wrote me up, and chewed me out for being late. They didnt care it had to do with the new meds. I realized that day that they could care less about me and my well-being. Put in my notice the next day

I worked at a chicken plant for two months - don't worry, I wasn't in the Live Hang area, I was further down the line - and I felt like it was literally killing me slowly. I was getting sicker by the day, I couldn't speak loudly for weeks, and my head had a constant ache that I couldn't shake. I finally gave up halfway through my final shift, and walked out during my lunch break, telling no one and nobody stopped me when I left.

Watched my manager refuse to apologize to a woman after making her feel profiled and targeted in our store. She had alerted us coming in the store that she was bringing in merchandise she paid for without a bag. I remembered her and the item she wanted to return, but my boss made me page a security check anyway. She’s waiting in line and stops him, and instead of apologizing like a man he says the bullshit “I’m sorry you feel that way”. Got promoted to manager at another facility. General manager of my facility wanted me to host a meeting for all the employees where I would explain some changes the week before I was to move to this new location and take over. We met beforehand discussed the meeting he said I needed to lead it and he was just there for the q/a after. He then literally interrupted everyone of my sentences. No I am not exaggerating every single one. Not even like hold on and then interjecting he would just start talking over me. A few times I literally kept talking trying to talk over him and we were both talking at the same time for like 3 sentences. I walked out after 25 mins of this and literally never went back or picked up my last paycheck they mailed it to me. The gm and I had worked together for two years he was the one who hired me. I have no idea why he did that but it was probably the most humiliating 25 mins of my life. I was a 22 yr old put in charge of 50-60 yr old men and he undermined me to that degree in hindsight maybe I should’ve said something as he followed me to the parking lot but I just got in my car and drove off. I am sure I am a story that the people who work there tell.

Factory job. I can't sit even though I am literally surrounded by other employees who are allowed to sit.

It took me a little less than a year to be able to stand 6 hours without pain. 11 hour shifts are pretty sucky, though. They used to be 12 before covid hit. But I guess I adjust to it, so it's not really a concern anymore. :/ I can now confidently challenge someone to a literal stand-off and probably win, so that's one thing I have going I guess.

District Manager came in and wanted to make his numbers to impress his superiors and get promoted, so told us to charge customers for things at checkout without telling them. I refused.

The new teacher did the right thing. Once an administrator has it out for you, it never, ever gets better. Been there, fought for nearly six years, and retired really early. I miss teaching, but the harrassment sent my anxiety into the stratosphere. As in officially disabled, it was so vicious. Now I'm looking forward to a new career and my old school doesn't even think about me. Walking out was the best thing I could have done, even if it terrified me.

I worked at a place that made auto parts and they had 3-8 hour shifts,but you had to "volunteer" to either come in 4 hours early or stay 4 hours after your shift was over...if you didn't want to do that...they would mandate you stay 4 hours over...if you didn't stay over after a few times,you would be terminated. They took all of my help,either terminated,moved to a different job,or that person quit...I was walking around with a list on a piece of cardboard that was taller than I was...I was beyond swamped....they had the shift change and the people from first shift that had done their 12 hours went home,and now the third shift people who are coming in 4 hours early are here....and they wouldn't let me have any help...even as I was going to tell them I was leaving,I had several people asking for parts and components.

I worked for a pizza joint for awhile, it was my first job and day one I was shown the bare basics then I had to work up front all by myself with little to no training, I did pretty bad and kept messing up, the only people who bothered training me were two guys that worked next to me, I began to be belittled by employees and when another girl came to register I was so excited that I would get help, but she was on her phone most of the time, just standing around or in the back doing a job she wasn’t supposed to do. I asked her to do a few miniscule tasks while I handle the lunch rush, she out right told me NO, I started sobbing, and got right out of there, I really screwed them over since I was one of the only ones who could work register. That was the main issue but there are plenty others that happened while I was at work

My boss is usually a good Karen but sometimes she loses it. I didn't walk out but the day after I had to euthanize my dog, I was lost and trying to sort my feelings. I forgot to sing happy birthday and then serve the cake but just served the cake as she has told me before why hadn't I served the snack, she came out furious, later I realized it's not the first time she'd messed a birthday and she knew how to easily fix it. I got a verbal lashing of why didn't I have common sense, how could I not understand and etc. In addition, there was a miscommunication between me and my coworker and she mentioned the boss said "in my spare time" to clean the cupboard so I didn't do it because I didn't have time. She furiously went inside to give it the lightest wipe ever and scolded me how whenever she asks for something she needs it done immediately. It was so bad I left crying. Then covid came, I caught covid and refused to go into work. She was cool with it for a day but then let me know it was my social responsibility to be healthy. Then she demanded I come in because we had no staff, I refused and questioned the legality of it. I went the next day after I received my negative results. I got a notice of possible termination for my insubordination and a verbal lashing for acting as the employer for questioning the legality of it. I was called ungrateful for accepting her gifts and not sending a thank you letter, and rude for not greeting staff by name instead of my loud hello and wave. She never had any intention of terminating me, she intimidated us daycare staff to attain the covid vaccine when it was just doctors getting it. When I think about it all I'm very bitter and pissed but there's not much out there. My mistakes are major but she sometimes forgets to file our pay. It's a little unfair

Did a weeks training at a call centre. 95% team building exercises, don't worry about actually showing us how to do the job. Took two calls, didn't have a clue what I was doing so walked after 10 minutes. They still paid me for the weeks training and full wages for my 10 minute effort.

I had a boss who was really out to get me, but the best was the time he yelled at me for not getting enough work done only to find out I didn’t get credit for most of the work I did due to a technical problems. Maybe he should have taken two minutes to check.

I drove truck for Deboer transportation in Blenker Wisconsin for a total of 17 weeks. In that 17 weeks I took home a grand total of $176.56. And then only because they forgot to withdraw taxes and child support from my final paycheck. They made surprised Pikachu face at me when they got an employment verification from a rival trucking company.

The one about the 16 year old and Safeway, I'm, pretty sure that's illegal due to federal laws (in the US at least, not sure about other countries). Also, for walking out on a job, well...it's about to happen at Amazon. I work nights with Amazon. The location I work at (an hour north of me), they're forcing all part time employee's into full time (myself included) and consolidating quite a few shifts into one shift starting at 1:20 am and going until 11:50 am. We're already running on a skeleton crew, found out one quit last minute a couple of days ago. Everyone is going to quit the week of the 25th of April or not long after that. I happen to work another job temporarily at a rec center for the military (20 minutes south of me) and was forced to cut my hours by half there. A coworker of mine also works part time at Fred Meyers and managed to get full time hours there when she leaves Amazon. I've even talked to HR at Amazon about it, told me that it was corporates decision and was final and nothing could be done. I was given the option of resigning and possibly working for them in the future if something were to come up. I talked with my temporary boss at the rec center, he is willing to work with me about getting a few extra hours after I go back to working my regular schedule.

Got called in on NYE (which I had taken off) for diner deliveries in a blizzard. After the third under the breath, I inhaled deep and told the owner's son to cash me out, left that hole in the wall in the dust, and went to one of the best NYE parties ever.

Back in my late teens I used to work at a Shell service station (gas/convenience). It was a fairly small station and only had one employee at work at a time apart from the 20 minute overlay between shifts. Due to being sole operators of the service station, a bunch of rules were in place. We could not leave the counter/cash register to do any work, when people were in the store section. But at the same time we had to constantly stock up, refill, and prep hot meals from the backroom freezing unit and the ovens, as hot meals like hot dogs and sweet bakery were hot sellers. And due to this rule, we also were prohibited from using the rest room when there were people in the store - or we expected people to be in the store, so basically it was impossible to use the restroom for anything except washing your hands, and we had to time our bodily processes to the typical 5 hour shifts, god forbid we had something bad to eat the day prior as something as simple as that would effectively lay us off work for the day, simply due to the strict rules. We also were not allowed to sit down at any time, and everything was being recorded on surveillance which the district manager would frequently oversee and even bring up at monthly meetings and question us about in front of all the other employees. He was a total slick douche, constantly on a high horse, pretending he had to go clean up our messes whenever we weren't able to follow every minute detail of his ruleset to a tee. Fast forward to xmas time, at the monthly meeting we were allocating the shift schedule for December. I had in my work application stated I was fresh out of high school and thus my schedule was flexible. The district manager looks at me and "asks" me; "you don't mind taking all of Xmas eve and half of New Year's eve, do you?". I was left dumbfounded as I wondered if he was being sarcastic, as a full day is 3 shifts of a combined 13.5 hours - and then those two specific days at that. I tell him I'm not sure, I have arranged plans (obviously) and it seems a little much for me. He then points out my work application and uses it to blackmail me in front of all the other employees, pointing out how I specify I am flexible with my time, and make it out to be that this was the sole reason he hired me so I could take the shit nobody else wanted - and basically forced me to work the entire xmas eve on my own, open at 6:00 in the morning and close at 21:00. It was so shit, I wanted to leave right then and there but I had no other income and xmas is not a good time to scout for a new entry level job. My family came over at 18:00 to pay me a visit while I was working, it absolutely sucked. I had no energy left for the evening once my shift had ended and pretty much lost that entire month (as I had already worked more than every other employee during December). I didn't quit then, but at that point I had already made up my mind. I knew there was some shit on the District manager too, and the whole place was just a shithole aside from the employees who were all just there to make a living. I saved up the last bit of money that would last me for a couple months, and I just walked off. Manager told me there was a 2 week leave notice and I had to manage my scheduled work shifts, but I never responded. I knew he would be the one in trouble, and he sure did get in trouble once the larger regional division of Shell looked into things, they found a major stash of expired goods had been cashed in for recycling, but never actually delivered, so there were millions worth of unfiled goods just sitting in the backrooms (most likely the money went straight to district manager's pockets). I don't have the full story, but I know for a fact he was fired from that station, and eventually the whole station had it's service part closed off in favor of automation of fuel pumps and no store. Makes me so happy that he didn't get away with his shit for more than 3 months after I left the place. He even hang posters in our staff offices saying "employees steal more from Shell than anybody else", and generally tried to guilt trip everyone into obeying orders like it's a spinoff of 1984. He acted like a complete Big Brother. Even thinking back makes me furious, I think if I had worked there today I might have knocked his teeth out on more than one occasion. Old me had more patience than I do now.

Not walk out, but made it where my job is permanently on the back burner. TL;DR - The people were a bunch of assholes that led me to pursue the national guard. I had to work through COVID, and throughout this entire time, we were slammed with work day and night and weeks behind schedule when we were meant to have only hours to spare. You can imagine the stress that I was in when day and night I was expected to keep up with the most inundated trailers and help with employees, too. The work was tiring, I was finishing up an MBA requiring additional effort, and I was expected to work six days out of the week. I was getting hurt weekly, losing weight when I couldn't afford to do so, and starting to burn out with work, home, and school. To make all of this worse, I found little support in terms of hourly or salaried managers unless I was screaming at them - as they did to me constantly - and having to go to get them resolved one-by-one until each was settled by the hub manager. What did me in was that the management team was getting fed every day with an abhorrent amount of food: Pizza, Hot Dogs, Burgers... Ribs. Stacked to the brim with tables that were ten feet long with drinks, plates, and other meals And when I got the nerve to ask about it to one of the chiller managers did he just say, "Oh, yeah. Those are for the managers." "But... you consider me helpful and reliable, right? I mean, I don't ask for much. I show up for work and make sure that nobody gets hurt, and we do what we are supposed to while making sure that we go home at the end?" "Yeah. But, you're not a manager." So, I followed through with a transfer that I had been waiting on earlier that year. And when it was denied, I found someone to help with my termination that was also denied since I was deemed "Too Important to be let goes," which I felt was BS since they could let people go at the dime drop. But, they were at a rock and a hard place which caused them to follow through with my promotion and let me get out of the hub. All said and good, right? No. That caused me to get out of my original role and find another aspect of the job to get away from them. Now, management is out for blood since they are left with all the work left behind. When I got to my new role, they found everything wrong with my position, and they weren't helpful. They didn't train me; My trainer berated me for every mistake they could find; They lost my electronic paperwork and had to file for a new one. When I finally got out, they castrate me in front of my team, management team, and the employees to show dominance. Fine. Whatever. I'm outside, and they're not. But the nail in the coffin were mistakes that could cost peoples lives for the sake of getting back at me for making them work. When I did get out from this predicament and clear out half of the management team, they still weren't satisfied, and it led me to go into the Guard for a type of political protection and a final act of defiance. So, now I'm about to be shipped out, can basically choose my hours and days, and nobody can say anything since they can't really replace me for SEVERAL reasons listed above without being sued for millions.

I did everything for my boss anything he wanted I was up in the bathroom and I heard him tell my boss and everybody else this is the owner of the company by the way telling everybody I was on drugs I was doing drugs in the bathroom that's why I was up there I was taking a dump and that was the last straw I went down and told him I quit to shove the job up his ass you can call me a lot of things it took me years to get off drugs and I'm proud that I don't do drugs and he turns around and says I'm doing drugs that pissed me off

I was working at a place that builds trailers. It's known for being shit but I needed money. I worked building doors and while I was still training they left me alone while i had no clue what i was doing. I called my Manager over and asked him to show me how to use the brad nailer for this particularly large piece of molding. He told me to put it on the frame and I complied. He started nailing super fast and I couldn't see exactly where he was hitting or how. Before I could complain he got over to where i was holding and shot a three inch brad into my forefinger and instead of helping. The dude just started laughing. I eventually got pliers and got it out. He told me to finish what he'd started but I threw my shit on the ground and quit on the spot. I went to the hospital and got a few stitches and got told I got lucky because if the brad had been any further left it woulda hit my bone.

The standing policy is just so outdated.

I can agree that working at Safeway was a nightmare. I had a night stocking position where once I had a manager who had meatball looking eyeballs more crooked than a Chameleon take a box of Cherrios out of my hand like I was a 2 year old and say "put the box on the shelf like this." And stood there looking at 3ft. off to my left, I couldn't tell if he was looking at me cause his eyes are going all over the place. I laughed and walked over and pushed the locked doors open and went home never to come back

Um...I'm pretty sure that $25 fine and making you pay for someone else's food is very illegal

Decades ago I worked in a convenience store. 90 hours a week with no overtime. $5 an hour. My wife was pregnant. I told my boss once the baby came I couldn't possibly work so many hours. We had this conversation several times. He kept saying OK, no problem. The day after the baby was born I went in and saw my schedule: Six days of 16-hour shifts. I walked out.

Why that guy didnt report the dude who threw him off a roof is beyond me, that's straight up attempted murder

I have severe anxiety,depression and PTSD. My diagnosises got worse once I contracted Covid,my ex dumped me,the store I worked in was shutdown and my dog died. One day I was waiting on these two old ladies and they started talking about me,Being really rude,right in front of me.,and insulted everything. (Including my hair,which is purple.) My former supervisor walked up behind me and told me to come back with her. I asked her what I had done and she said,"C'mon!" and I didn't want to go with her because every single time I went to the office with her she would yell at me. I reluctantly followed her to the back,we sat in the office and she asked me what happened. I told her they were rude and I stayed quiet. She lectured me. She told me that everyone had lost pets and I needed to pick myself up and deal with it. I pointed out that my dog was an ESA and I had lost the one thing in my life that gave me any comfort. She kept lecturing and I finally started to have an anxiety attack. I sobbed and told her that she had no idea what I was going through and I hadn't told anyone everything that had happened. I had been sexually assaulted when I was 14 and my dog was able to key into my panic attacks and help me. She was there when my ex,the guy who dumped me on the anniversary of my grandmother's death,was yelling and verbally abusing me. She kept me company when I had Covid! I loved that dog more then any other creature I ever was lucky enough to have in my life. After I snapped at her she asked if I wanted a bottle of water. I told her,"No! I want to get the f*ck out of here." and she said,"Fine. Go!" I got out in the main office and she continued. I told her to leave me alone and I went out to the front. Three of my co-workers stopped me to see how I was. I told her ,"I can tolerate a lot of things but I cannot abide by someone who would trigger an anxiety attack in the hopes they get me canned." A few weeks later my store manager asked me why I walked out and I told him,"She triggered my anxiety attacks and I told her that I needed to go home because I was emotionally,physically and mentally drained." He wasn't happy that she did that and eventually she left.

Didnt walk out, but my boss was surprised i didnt. I was on a custom harvesting team that harvested fresh green peas to be used in veggie mixes or canned. I was on one crew all summer that alternated between days and nights. Harvest was slated to end during one of my crew’s long breaks, and a different crew needed an extra operator for their night shift so i joined that crew for 2 days until the end of harvest. The first night was uneventful, the machine i had was problematic, but it always has been. The second night however was a lot more eventful. I knew i was going to be late and warned my boss and he said no problem. I gave them a rough time thst i’d be there and i was pretty much bang on the mark. However, the person they used to fill my place until then was not very good. I personally trained him on that type of machine and he was in for about 45 minutes and did not get off his phone ONCE. Made a huge mess of the field that me and my ocd had to clean up. I get to the field and over to the machine which has stopped with what appears to be the engine off. I go to the back and talk to him and he said it was plugged. I go to the front to look at the front of it, and yeah, all the way. 40 feet of machine is full of peas. It took me the remaining 9.5 hours to get it unplugged and even then i wasnt quite finished. My actual boss showed up (he doesnt work nights) and said “i’m surprised you didnt go home.” Me too, Doug. Me too.

I am so glad i live in Europe, where most of this stuff does not exist or is illegal. Making people stand all day is seen as torture and our waiters get paid a decent wages so they don't have to beg their customers for a fee.

My story to add on: My first job was as a regional specific commercial grocery store cashier. One of the managers, nobody liked. Naturally, I am an optimistic person because there is always a method to a madness. Long story short. My first write up was for the managers ignoring public safety from the meat department improperly wrapping their raw goods. Like hell that I am allowing toys that toddlers teeth on exactly where there's bluntly obvious raw meat liquids. I quit the day after I got my second write up for holding in the urge to vomit. during giving a polite elderly lady $100 in $20 bills. Instead of throwing up right at/in front of a customer at the check out line, or at that trash can to not be disturbing. I booked it to the break room that was 30ft away for being out of sight to puke in the better sized trash can there. The write up? I gave her too much. The kicker is. I already asked that same manager to leave for not feeling well. It was highly noticeable that my skin was flushed. My father nearly had to carry me out of the store in his arms; as my mom was at work. It pained me to be anything more than a curled up ball. Turns out my body was in the early stages of suffering from multiple deficiencies (anemia for one example) that became addressed months later thanks to good medical professionals.

That roofer kicking the kid of the roof would've received his hammer back via instant-air-mail, and then some.

Boss just recently tried to make me work with covid fully symptomatic, in the restaurant industry nonetheless. After they let everyone take their time off for covid. Came in for a shift just because my manager made me feel my job was at risk if I didn't. Walked out during the busiest part the next day once I realized it just wasn't worth it

I was working at Chic Fil A for about 3 months. Wasn’t bad at first but I was working 2pm to 11pm and summer was just around the corner so I wanted out. Not to mention I was only getting paid $9 an hour I planned on quitting respectfully but when I went on my break my coworker fucked up my order, mind you this wasn’t the first time and the first time it happened they made it wrong 3 times. This time was different tho because while I’m eating dude looks at me through the window and starts laughing. That was all I needed. I grabbed my jacket, keys and walked out the front door.

Dog, if someone shoved me off a fucking roof I’d be pressing charges and making a lawsuit against the company immediately. That settlement would be sick and the justice swift.

I was a cart attendant at target before I switch positions. But there was one night in December in florida. I was closing, the two midshifts called out, it was 34 degrees with consistent torrential rain. We were so busy that people were taking carts faster than I can bring them in which meant I was constantly outside. I got no help at all. By the end of the night I was soaked head to toe, hands numb, and one minor inconvenience away from quitting. I told my manager that this was BS and and is hell. She responded with I know and I'm sorry I couldn't spare someone to send out with you. They bought me hot chocolate everyday for the next 2 weeks. I was the only person who did the job well so at least they saw they legit needed me

I had a manager who was one of those "shop can't run without her" places, so she got away with everything. Well beyond my training period, she was still correcting me on things like stapeling documents in the "wrong" place (there was no "right" place), etc. All day, every day. Embarrassing AF because there was someone else in the office hearing all this. The owner even said "hang in there, just don't quit." I started experiencing horrific abdominal pain, went to the ER twice and an MRI revealed a blocked gall bladder. I scheduled surgery to remove it (the gall bladder). After a particularly grueling Friday, I just didn't show up on Monday. The abdominal pain stopped IMMEDIATELY! Turns out the blockage COULD have been a shadow. It was. What a cun+! 😡

Its sad seeing so many just walk oit of jobs and not report things to the labor dept. Thats why things like this keep happening.

I was a server at a local burger place- I was suppose to be a server but instead got whatever job they put me as (think cleaner, dishwasher, phone register). But one day I had to clean up a kids vomit with a coworker we both wanted to walk but couldn’t as we needed the money.

I was working in a ac company. Sometimes we were sent to other sections if they needed help. I was sent to insulation. I wasn't given any protection suit so my neck, face and eyes were red from all the insulation. I came back the next day and was being sent there again to which I told the supervisor "either you give me a suit or i'm not going to insulation" to which he replied "either you go to insulation or you can go home". I just went home. Never went back.

Why should you have to pay it. Employee minimum mag plus tips. Employer makes hundreds to thousands of dollars. Employee shit they walked out Employer well it comes out of your check. Employee no you pay see you later.

I worked at a rundown bar in Seattle. The manager at the time would get drunk right after he clocked out and would "jokingly" berate and belittle staff and the time he tried it with me, I snapped, called him out, threw my apron at him, took my payout for the day, a bottle of bacardi and walked out.

No one wearing masks when we dealt with people from all over the state on a daily basis, many of whom also were not wearing masks. They are now a covid hot spot and some of our clients have died. Glad I got out of there.

Not a walk out, but I gave up my career as a merchant Mariner because I was away so much, I was starting to miss those gold ticket memory things in my kids' lives. And my wife was raising the 4 on her own. I liked my career a whole lot, but I loved my family. I gave 30 day notice, trained my replacement, got drunk at my going away party, was given 2 grand as a gift from Company, I still miss it but not that much. I made the absolute right choice.

One day and out of the blue, I realized I was miserable and hated literally everything about it. So I just left. Didn't even clock out. Just casually walked out and went to my friend's house to play video games. The manager called me and asked me where I went? I just said I quit, I hate it. Never going back. Ever. You can keep my check or mail it because I hate it that much. Lol. She said Are you sure? What was it? What happened? I said Everything, even you. Sorry. Goodbye. Lol

I quit both my jobs because my coworkers were so stupid I was close to attacking them.
