Modern fighting game characters aren’t built in such a way that they don’t “function”, and they all have a “Powerful Thing” they like to do. As such, what makes a top tier character in all modern fighters isn’t having a powerful thing, or even how powerful it is exactly, but instead how often, and easily they can force the opponent to navigate their powerful thing.

I've been playing this game for less than a week, so as far as I'm concerned the only tier list that matters is ranking the cast by their hats.

I've always thought each character is very well balanced in the sense they ALL have something fucked up about them. Axl's zoning, Lewis's heat, Ky just being himself, Millia's mix up and so much more. They're all broken af, it's just how you play them. And how some may be easier to play than the other, and there may be some matchup advantages, at the core of it, they're all A tier in their own right.

Ky is Xrd was balanced - so much so he had no "bad" matchups (yes, even johny somehow was considered 5-5) Which propelled him into top-5 and a regular tournament top-8 by the best Ky players.

Whoever you play is an overtuned top tier, meanwhile whoever I play is an honest low tier who needs massive amounts of skill to perform well with. If we play the same character then I'll just say the matchup is 6-4 and refuse to elaborate. If you try to argue with me, I *will* cry.

When will Gekko realize how bad Zato-1 is?? Man I try to play this game but half of the roster hard counters me, other half is simply annoying. I have absolutely no defense and alright it is a downside but my so-called busted offense gets countered by one unbaited burst, YRC or even DP and I'm fucked cuz my precious Eddie is dead and winning neutral against char with neutral-skipping moves is fucking disgusting (I'm looking at you, Sol Badguy). Zato needs SOMETHING. Like sure strenghening his defense goes against his char design but for fucks sake let me play neutral, let me have normals that don't lose ALL the clashes, LET EDDIE LIVE

A reminder to Strive players that GG Strive has not been a competitive game for 3 years. The whole meta in this game is cheap brainrot gorillas or broken characters with autopilot mode for 3 seasons in a row. Balance simply doesn't exist. Gorilla STRIVE- shame of gg series.
