I ride a 2011 Vespa 150cc LX. I live in Central California and ride it on the daily. I ride 20-30 miles a day. Twist and go. From a street light, I make my way to the front of the pack and when the light turns green.. I'm off to my next destination. I love my Vespa. VESPA EVERYWHERE. Much love from Central California, and ride safe.

Here I am looking through all the 2018 Vespa videos, and come across yours, then decide to check the year you uploaded this. Surprise, 2010, and the scooter looks just the same as the 2018 model, but without the current goodies like ABS etc. What it tells me though, is that it's no bad thing, as the Vespa scooter one bought in 2010, does not look dated beside the current models and that's got to be all good...

Two things that still scream Vespa are the monocoque chassis and the anti-dive(?) front suspension. Modern Vespa don't follow the two stroke, side engine, manual transmission, and affordable price recipe anymore.

I do agree with the previous comment. The new "vespa" you reviewed is but a false vespa, that's just a scooter with a vespa badge on it. To make a vespa you certainly need a monocoque metal body but swappable wheels (with separable rims for easier tire change) and manual gears are part of the original vespa project and cannot be trashed for profit. That's history and culture.

What make vespa special are 1. Link arm suspension 2. Spring mounted engine 3. Monocoque body 4. Paintjob Also worth mentioning 1. Monocoque body tends to rust faster 2. Engine performance is good but not as refined as Honda or Suzuki

vespas is about form...style...I love my vespas 1953 elite - 2017 gts...they all wobble and brakesnaking...just less and less...but style and form still there...so there all vespas...because they look like vespas...and handles like vespas...

you cant really compare a "modern contemporary scooter" with the newest vespas. the newer vespas are nothing like the old ones. you should have used a vespa 50 special. that is THE iconic scooter in italy. how do I know this? because i have lived in italy my whole life and no one talks about the new vespas like they are classic or iconic or anything like that.

"Vespa engines are the best in the world" Care to qualify that? It's also worth noting that Piaggios and Vespae share engines, so if Vespa engines are the best, so are Piaggios.

Link Arm Suspension also uses a Hydraulic Damper... Piaggio Own Vespa, Gillera and Aprillia, and those bikes/scooters will also last generations if looked after If you wanted to show a true classic Vespa, Who didn't you show a PX150/200 etc. Something that's a classic, not the modern twist and go rubbish
