The world of mobsters has been so romanticized in movies, even though we see there is catastrophic price to pay for it, we always root for them anyway. There is just something about how that world is portrayed that seems to cut through the inability to make a decision on how to proceed. The rules are very simple and everyone follows them, lest they wanna..."sleep wit da fishes"

Dude what are you talking about most guys were breaking rules all the time. Selling drugs, not kicking up what they should, sleeping with other guys wifes, ripping off Other made guys, putting bad wires on guys

I have heard Michael say in several interviews, that the guys in that lifestyle were not evil, only the lifestyle is evil. When you take the oath to join, you know it is organized crime, and murder, extortion, violence and robbery is the norm, and if given the order to kill someone, you do it. You have to be evil to want to get into that lifestyle, knowing what it entails. Normal people don’t do the things they did.

Not neccesary, it's romanticized and sold as kind of a secret society of knights in a way with its own traditions and values , it's not sold as ghetto gangsterism. They all agree on how and when someone is to be killed and know it applies to them. That said it def attracts psychos.

Michael always says he joined the life to help his father. But I've never heard anything about him joining the mafia, actually helped his father .....🤷

It’s started bothering me how well respected this guy is, especially in the podcasting sphere. Sure, he has some interesting things to tell, but he used to be one of the worst kinds of criminals. Please don’t treat him as some voice of authority.
