Destiny Overton And it’s really only Noah lying throughout the movie. She tells Noah about the dance thing and everything that she’s doing. She never lied about her dance partner and who she was hanging out with. But Noah did. And the movie even suggest that she was gonna break up with Noah in the end until he came to the competition. That’s when everything changed. And I don’t blame her for kissing that one guy. I feel like a lot of girls in her situation would’ve done the same thing. Imagine you’re dating a guy and he’s giving you no attention he’s not calling you back you’re in a long-distance relationship and you believe he’s cheating on you and you have a lot of evidence for that. And then there’s this other guy who is really attractive and he’s giving you attention and he’s treating you a lot better than your actual boyfriend. And then in the heat of the moment you kiss him. I don’t blame her for that at all.

@don’t worry bout it Also if she was so paroniad about their relationship, theres something called a BREAK. Not break up but BREAK from each other. She accuse him of being a cheater because of evidence-understandable. But for her to turn around and cheat doesnt make it okay. If she wasnt getting the attention she wanted and didnt want to take a break. They could have just break up. But she still cheated and to say 'I don't blame her' is 🤔

Please watch Netflix's The Old Guard. It's probably the ONLY good, *actual* representation us gays had in CENTURIES. Not just two random gay people, who don't even kiss or have an actually developed story and characters. It's an actual centuries-old couple of immortal husbands saving the world. It's a great movie, starring Charlize Theron and Kiki Layne (finally a black women lead role in Netflix as well), directed by a black woman and the gay couple is played by Marwan Kenzari (hot Jafar from Aladdin) and Luca Marinelli. Matthias Schoenaerts has a great role in the group as well. Is overall one of the best movies I've seen in so long!

And why is it never mentioned where Rachel wants to go to college? Does she want to go to Berkeley, too? Does Lee want her to go there? Imma need these teen rom-coms to stop pretending that everyone can just get into Harvard or Yale, or whatever other school that they most certainly would not have gotten into in real life. Like, Elle spent her high school career banking on Berkeley (which is, of course, a good school, but it's not HARVARD) and then got into one of the most stringent Ivy Leagues. Ok, for sure. Let me just go apply to Yale real quick, I'm sure I'll get in with what Netflix has taught me.

I think its different because Elle wasn't aware and her friend didn't make it clear they felt this way unlike how Elle specifically told Noah and he still didn't back off from her. Also there is the fact of Lee's girlfriend knowing what she was getting into verses Elle just finding out Noah had a lady friend. Not only that but Elle and Lee have been friends their whole life and the relationship is completely plutonic. Verses Noah and Accent lady who just met each other and are already acting close and lovey dovey in Elle's face. like come on. Basically this whole movie could have been solved by a sit down where they all express their feelings to one another.

@@alwaysannoyedforever518 I haven't bothered to watch either movie, but from what I can tell, the original commenter is right. It doesn't take a genius to know couples don't want a third person around all the time. Whether the friend is of the opposite sex or not. And the fact of them being childhood friends and Lee's gf "knowing what she's getting into", shouldn't be a thing either. When Lee decided to make another girl his gf, Elle came second and is old enough to know better. When my best friend (a guy) got his first girlfriend, I took a major step back. We didn't talk on the phone every day, no more going to the movies together, hanging out in his room, or the expectation that he'd spend most of his free time with me, etc. No one had to tell me how I'd feel if the rolls were reversed.

Apphia Perkins well yes I do agree with the first commenter and you but the point I was trying to make was that Rachel knew lee had a best friend since birth therefore the relationship they have is bound to be a close one whereas Noah’s relationship with accent lady was very strange seeing as he just met her they both have inappropriate relationships given the circumstance but I was trying to say that Noah’s relationship with accent lady is on the worse end of the scale. Also knowing that Elle has been with Lee everyday from when she was first born is something to consider too. I stand by my point of this all could have been solved with a simple chat.

Issy YourBoo I think the issue is that it's being "normalized", especially cheating. When the main character cheats, they're forced to be viewed as the victims as well because of whatever they're going through. I haven't seen the movie and don't plan to see the movie but it's becoming apparent that cheating is becoming the most main issue in movies today. It happens but "normalizing" it is wrong. It's become a "trend" and it's cool to do it and ruin someone

The fact that the movie tried to pass off Noah making a fist and walking away from Marco instead of punching him like he would've in the first movie (mostly because Chloe told him not to) as character growth is insane. It's like they're trying to say "hey guys, he's changed! He didn't hit anyone in this movie (even though he wanted to)! He's no longer toxic and there's no red flags about his violent outbursts anymore!"

And to this day, I still don't know what Marco said to make Noah want to punch him anyways. Marco said "congratulations" and suddenly, a punch is about to hit him in the face. Yet they still play this narrative of "oh Noah didn't punch Marco even though Marco did nothing wrong. See Noah is developed now and should receive a medal for not punching someone like any other sane person on the planet!"

You should watch degrassi, not a movie but a good enough teen show. It does get bit overly dramatic but I think it balances the crazy with the fun. You're in for a long and wild ride though. Its 3rd installment, Degrassi tng(its a whole franchise), is the best, longest and the most extra, it has 14 season and portrays actual teen storylines with real tween-teenagers and has characters with financial, ethnic, body and sexual diversity, though still struggles with telling full stories for minorities. It beautifully flawed and is the blueprint for skins, euphoria and those other "realistic" teen shows.

To be fair Elle and Lee are best friends who knew each other for years. Rachel just came into the picture. Plus I think it’s fair to acknowledge that half the time Lee wanted Elle around. He would often neglect Rachel for Elle. Half of the time Elle wouldn’t intentionally be in there faces. Chloe and Noah didn’t know each other like that for her sleeping in his dorm willing, ignoring elle’s calls to hang out with her, and certainly not lying about what’s he’s doing. Both Noah and Chloe’s friendship was inappropriate. Also Elle is wrong for cheating as well.

I can believe that Chloe was just that best friend that’s incredibly dense to other people’s levels of comfort because they assume everyone is just as touchy feely as they are (because I know I’ve been that person before) but Noah dodging calls to hang out with her is sketchy. If they wanted that storyline to play out _he_ should have put more effort into encouraging a friendship between them instead of waiting until the end for Chloe to tell Elle that Noah thought the two of them would be good friends. Lee stood Rachel up several times because of Elle and when they spent time together Elle was almost always with them so I get why she was mad. Also he made her sit in the backseat of his car and forgot to tell her about the Halloween costume. She was just pissed that she always comes second for him and that he's so obsessed with Elle and I really understand that. I don't think she expected him to stop seeing Elle completely.

It still bothers me that 1. Lee's gf got back with him like Lee's willingness to always put Elle first is so gross and wrong. I felt bad for her getting left out of the Halloween costumes. Movies like this are why younger kids have such low expectations for relationships. 2. Noah didn't have to "actually" cheat on her physically. How he made her feel and the way he lied to her about Chloe was emotional cheating and I love that Kennie said that. Why was it so hard for Noah to be upfront about Chloe "tutoring" him if he's supposed to trust Elle. 3. Elle finding it so easy to use and dispose of Marco makes me feel disgusted that I can tell he's still going to try to get her back in the next movie. 4. Let's pls allow secondary POC characters to be more than plot devices and seducers/temptresses

Yeah, and I totally agreed with and loved when Marco said on the beach "If I loved someone, I wouldn't make them feel uncomfortable and insecure about our relationship" which is exactly what Noah was doing. Marco was overall a much better man and character than Noah and it made no sense that Elle didn't choose him in the end...

I don't get Netflix makes great kdrama and other Asian drama hat are realistic and mature, but they make movies the kissing booth and it's some 12 year old girls daydream romance and has fucked up morals they need to learn from the Asians , like the male chachters in the Asian romance are very nice and caring most of the time

Noah and Elle are so toxic for each other. They both cheated, yet they’re still persistent on being together. Noah was straight up abusive in the first movie, and I don’t like how they made Elle seem like the bad guy with the whole Chloe thing. Lee is self absorbed, and his girlfriend isn’t any better. The new guy is the only decent person in this movie, plus he’s hot hehe

How is Rachel self-absorbed? Her issues were valid. Marco knows Elle has a boyfriend but was still flirting with her. Rachel was the only one being reasonable here.

@@MT-zu2uq I agree. Rachel actually asked to spend time with *her boyfriend* without Elle being there, which is completely valid. She has a right to be upset with Lee wouldn't talk to Elle about her always being with them. Rachel ended up snapping at Elle about it, and Elle STILL didn't realize what she was doing. When she found out that Lee didn't even tell Elle the issue, she looked hurt. Her only mistake was getting back together with Lee.

i have to say, Ive been that friend of a guy friend and his girlfriend got uncomfortable. He wasn't hot like this guy, but still. He was made to choose between her and me, and i became vilified even though I'm just a girl who wants friends, and only recently really understand that I'm on the Ace Spectrum. We were never that touchy tho. Also, whenever we hung out, usually his sister was also hanging out with us. If I slept over, it was in his sister's room, and we would hang. I was like the cousin who visited. I lost one of my best friends over this and I'm still sad. so, not all of us girls with guy friends are just trying to make the girlfriend uncomfortable. Trying to start an "affair." He shouldn't have had to choose.

Even about that touchy part (I haven't seen the movie, I don't know how touchy they were), I have a bi friend that I love to hug and cuddle, I'm that kind of person. Do I have to stop doing that if she has a girlfriend? Would anyone say Noah was cheating on Elle with one of his guy friends? I don't know, doesn't sit right with me. It appears that way to some people, but I don't do it if the friend or the significant other tells me they're uncomfortable. So yeah

“Under Noah’s bed” is now a running gag in my friend group. We were going for food a few weeks ago and I asked where we were going to which my friend replied “under Noah’s bed”. We had a sleepover afterwards and one of them asked where their shoes were to which I replied “under Noah’s bed”. I think we got a little over excited though when we were in the car with my friend’s dad and he asked where I wanted to be dropped off to which I instantly replied “under Noah’s bed”. I’m waiting for my mother to receive a concerned phone call... 😐😐😐

I actually didn’t have problem with Chloe, I don’t mind when friends of the opposite sex are comfortable around each other and even a bit touchy as long as you know it’s friendship and you trust your partner but the lying made it so bad 😅 Also everyone is so annoying and toxic, except for Marco, he deserved better 🤷‍♀️ Btw new to your channel and it’s so relaxing to watch you do your makeup while hilariously picking these movies apart 😄 Keep up the good work ♥️

I'm so glad you reviewed this train wreck! I actually cracked up when we got the "reveal" that Chloe had been sleeping over at Noah's place while he was gone, and that was how she lost the earring. Like, sure Jan, whatever you say... I also love the point you made about what constitutes cheating, because people sometimes forget that cheating isn't just sexual: it can be emotional, which is often more devastating in a lot of ways. Also surprised you skipped over how toxic Lee is, because yikes! He couldn't talk to his best friend about maybe giving him and his girlfriend some space because...why, exactly? So instead, it was better to make his girlfriend think that Elle was this clingy b and also lie to his girlfriend about being too chicken to talk to her? The Flynn brothers are both a big basket of yikes, and I don't know why Elle hangs out with either of them. As for bad movies: I'd like to recommend Psycho Party Planner, which is an absolute gem from Lifetime with some of the worst acting I've ever seen (in a Lifetime movie, no less, so that's pretty low standards already). The plot is also just hilariously random and confusing.
