Can I genuinely ask , do you think it’s useless for me to become a marine as a female ? I’ve seen some people say it’s useless for females and I’ve seen a short video of a male marine and female marine fight where the male won in seconds . I’m thinking maybe it’s useless since females aren’t as strong as men physically .

I love watching her psych herself up for the next bunch of new recruits. She has a job to do, and she has to be tougher than nails to turn these new recruits into Marines. If she does her job correctly, these new recruits will be proud to refer to themselves as *A MARINE* for the rest of their lives. Just as I am proud to call myself *A SAILOR* of the *United States Navy.*

That applies to ANY recruit of ANY branch!! Just because the Marines have the longest initial (basic) training, does NOT mean that you shouldn't be proud that you graduated!! I don't care if you're a Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine, or Coast Guardsman!! NO ONE asked ANY of us how long we wanted basic training to be!!! ANOTHER THING...If Marine is capitalized, the Soldier, Sailor, Airman, and Coast Guardsman is also capitalized!!

@@bigdee8189 you are absolutely correct. I have made that correction, thank you. Of course it applies to every branch of the US military. This video was about the Marines and I was in the Navy so that's why I only mentioned those particular two. However you forgot the 6th branch of the US military, Space Force. Members of Space Force will refer to themselves as A Guardian per former VP Michael Pence. I'm glad to hear that, because a Space Cadet would be far worse than A Trekie or A Treker which would be ridiculous enough in my opinion.

I was never in the military. However, in my early 20’s, I was an FAA Certified Flight Instructor. I had many Marines and other Military come to me for their flight reviews. To say I felt inferior was an understatement! These folks could outfly me backwards, forwards, and upside down! We did a 5 mile run in OCS and about 1/2 mile of the run was on a beach in Pensacola, which is miserable if you are near the end of the formation. I started walking on the road when we were less than a mile from our barracks and the DI asked me if I wanted to quit. He kept on me and then asked if I wanted to become a sugar donut. I eventually did fall out and got into the van. For those that did, we had to go to the old sand volleyball court that was near the DI's offices in the back of Batallion. It was there where we became sugar donuts, in that we were cycled until we were soaked from sweat and then made to roll around in the sand. Just say, I never fell out of a run again. Granted, the next time we ran the beach we were the senior class so we had smooth packed sand to run on as opposed to what you would see if you were in the back of the formation consisting of 5-6 classes. What was even worse was after the 4th week we could go out on Friday nights and then have a short day of training on Saturday with PT being the first thing we did in the morning. The first weekend we had this liberty they had us running 100-yard sprints around a field early Saturday morning. We typically had about 30sec to a min break before it was our turn again. We learned the hard way that we should not overdo it on Friday nights since many of us started throwing up after the 3rd or 4th sprint. The DI's just laughed and told us to get back in line. For those that do not know, in OCS your training team consisted of an officer (LT) and 2 senior enlisted (E-7 and above - 1 Navy and 1 Marine). For our class, Honor Class 0497, it was LT Scheerer, Senior Chief Frangione, and Gunny Seargent Woolette. Here it is 25 years later and I still remember their names like it was yesterday. While Gunnys can be intimidating, they are the most professional soldiers I have ever had the privilege to serve with. Marines, in general, tend to be very professional and squared away. It was odd being yelled at for 13 weeks, and once that 1-inch stripe was on the sleeve of my uniform it was "sir" when he addressed you.

@Christian Lee on my way to the ship (the barracks in the Navy, not one of their literal ships), we had one girl that was singing cadence a few times. The military that you see here is not the army they are soldiers this is the Marine Corps they’re training Marines. And we are not the most leader anymore because they allow trainnies into the military Among the multitude of other things. The female recruits you see her are being told that they can do anything I’m able to do. As we both know that’s not true. Seemingly unbeknownst to the government ,the male has 37% moremuscle mass Than a female. We are the laughingstock of the world at this point. Semper Fi

@@mr.m.o.g.o.m. … I have the utmost respect for ANYONE who serves their country’s military… Man or woman 👍😄. As for being the laughing stock of the world right now… I’ll have to respectfully disagree with you. Our government leaders here in Australia, at state & federal levels are the ultimate laughing stocks of the world, mainly because of their piss-weak handling of the pandemic. Rules were different for each state & our “leaders” were changing the rules & restrictions DAILY & not only did they confuse people, they pissed them off as well. Have you heard of or are familiar with the saying “the inmates are running the asylum”??? THAT’S what life has been like for us but now, with all our borders open (domestic & international) & people returning to something resembling “normal” lives, our so-called leaders are merely an afterthought. Come to think of it… They always have been & always WILL be!!! ☝️😆. Peace & best wishes to you my friend… From Australia 🇦🇺✌️😎🇦🇺

@@mr.m.o.g.o.m. … We both know the government are supposed to work FOR the people, but in the last 2 years (especially), they’ve been doing anything BUT that. They turned each states’ police force into their own private militia squads (I kid you not) & gave them increased powers to detain & arrest people for the most ridiculous reasons, all while turning a blind eye to REAL criminals. All of the BS arrests have been thrown out when the cases have gone to court which has made all the “rules” they brought in & made up look pretty stupid 😆😆😆… POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!! 👍😁

it's nothing like male boot camp, but i'm willing to bet that women drill instructors would scare a lot of people like foreign POWs, foreign recruits, and guys who went through the previous (less intense) Navy and Air Force boot camps. a lot of these women DIs are probably pretty handy with a rifle and a fighting knife too. if you had to choose between a male private and a woman DI in a combat situation, you'd almost definitely pick the DI, woman or not.
