Jah jah. People need to start giving her her flowers from now. She has really pushed hard to be the very best she can be. Sometimes it seems like she is punching the air with these outcomes and everything. We may need to take a step back and not put pressure on the future but really highlight her past (and even recent) accomplishments. At the end of the day, she is the only woman alive who has come close to erasing Flo-jo's record. Do you know what that means... she was the closest one to actually "cleaning" the record books... because as is widely known... that record has several clouds and thunderstorms of doubts hovering over it. Let's give Herah her Hoorah. Thank you Elaine. You have served well. Salute. Run well.

Elaine I am praying that God will grant you strength during this time. In a lot of interview done with Shelly ann she is always thanking God for being healthy. I don't think a lot us track and field lovers realized how important that is. I once heard Usain said that one bad injury can end any ATHELE career and its so sad. Because it takes away your chance to truly pursue your potential. I want to encourage you to thank God for the opportunity that he has given you and what you have achieved. I will continue to pray for you and wishing you all the best, remember if this is not the end God has for you then surrender everything in his Hand and he will bring it to pass. I think the reality is Elaine needed a year off in 2018 or 2019. If she had that year off she could have been back and ready to go. It’s like Yohan…they’re working out too hard when they need to be resting and recovering. Also, think Elaine is much faster right now than folks realize…she’s not done. But, when she is done, I would love if she decides to coach.

@@albertmaraj right. Elaine is the absolute best female sprinter, period. She was on fire in 2017 before her injury. Yeah, she got injured…okay, let her heal. I’m upset they rushed her to run again. Although Elaine had an excellent 2021, I don’t like seeing her injured and I’m disappointed she isn’t getting the opportunity to show what’s she’s really made up…she should have won every single championship title since then.

I think this is what’s happening. People crucifying Elaine for leaving MVP as if they are sure she would not have these issues right now if she was still with Frano. She struggled with injuries under Frano and missed lots of time from the track. I think she is just getting older. Only if Jamaicans could actually offer support and encouragement instead of tearing down the woman. I hope God raise her up one more time to silence the doubters, as if they would have done much better if they were in her shoes.

@@kimbie718oh, come on, people…you all need to stop making these things up. The coach tells the athlete when they will or will not run…period. Not Elaine nor any other signed athlete makes those decisions…it is entirely the coach and staff, or the sponsors that require certain events be run. Let’s not make this so complicated or be unfair…Elaine does what her coach says. Even Franno said his FAVORITE kind of athlete is Elaine, because SHE DOES WHAT HER COACH TELLS HER. Franno very specifically said this about her and her being her favorite there. I think what is up and what is fishy is I believe Elaine is faking again. First of all, she usually opens around 11.2 anyhow, and that 11.3 in cold weather seemed faster than 11.2 in performance. She got out good, and slowed down before the drive. This time, she got out good, drove good, and didn’t transition into the third phase. At one point, I thought she was gonna propel forward and win the race. She turned off her jets, and she even closed her fists at one point (Elaine runs with open hands), which tells me she let go. This 11.4 into a massive headwind was damn near 11 flat in reality anyhow, if not even better than that. Elaine now looks fine to me…the only thing she didn’t do here is hit her final gear….she’s still got the gear.

Its diffiicult to blame Walcott because he never sends out a athlete that isn't sound. I think last year Kerricka Hill performed at stadium and was carried off didn't see her for the rest of the season. Sandrey Davidson was also resting when he had niggles. Shelly does not compete if there is a injury worry either. So he has a proven record of resting his athletes until they are fit enough to compete. Also, we see people in his camp improving. So its not fair to say its his fault. The question is if Elaine yet again isn’t listening and is running for the appearance fees. Sports Max, I hate the idea that you people tend to be very unprofessional about Elaine. As real professionals, why didn’t you people set the record straight so that people could take their filthy opinion off the Herah’s family. You all know how self-centred Mr. Steven Francis is and do not wish to call him out. Imagine, Elaine’s contract was up and as a result she was getting a bigger deal with Puma, therefore Steven Francis knows that due to contractual agreement that he had with Nike, he would not be eligible to coach her. This man has gone unto the media to say that she was ungrateful and no matter what he would not take her back. As for Shericka Jackson, people tend to be having the wrong idea when she speaks of her coach. Many seem to think that it is him Steven and not realizing that Jackson coach is actually Mr. Paul Francis. As far as I see things,Steven Francis wanted her to stay at Nike because he had sign as a Nike coach. He knows that he could not train her otherwise he maybe subjected to a lawsuit. All that man needed to do was to talk the truth. There are so many athletes who left MVP and it’s was not a problem. Many of them are hypocrites too as they fail to speak up and allow the rest of the world to know the truth.

And many people are not gonna comment on this because they don't like this narrative but the one where Stephen is lifted to Godly/kingly status and Elaine is seen as the little ungrateful idiot who is all about money. I don't know if this narrative is true but it makes sense. If it is true Elaine herself could have possibly spoken on the matter.
@cammie83
@cammie83 16 күн бұрын
But it's gone past Stephen Francis now. Every decision that she has made since she left has been poor and centred around how much money she can make or save. Other athletes have left his camp and can still compete. It is illogical to have the level of injuries that you do and then move to a unprofessional coaching set up. You then get a coach who had you at the best that we've seen in years and you left for money again. You're now with a coach who has a solid reputation of building athletes and allowing them to rest when they have injuries. Why are you the odd one out? Based on what has been seen before, it's money. She wants the appearance fee and at that cost she's hurt herself again. What's happened is that the years she spent not managing her injuries are coming back to bite her. Also, you can be upset with Francis but he seems to be the only person capable of managing her injuries so you can't take that away. He might be self centred but so is she and her team.

Elaine is probably running because she has to. She signed a couple new brand deals and with her struggles with injury over the last few years, she's probably just trying to get her appearance fees and maintain her contracts. It's hard to watch her struggle like this but at the end of the day she also has to think about life outside of track.

She needs back either Shanikie Osbourne or Franno. Bottom line. Whoever do not like this keep on burying your heads in the sand. Franno told us that she will break down easily. It started when she left MVP but for me the bigger blunder was getting rid of Shanikie. I still want the best for her and I still want her to do well. But at this stage it looks very 'iffy'.

Sad though it is, she will not make the cut for Paris Olympics and is unlikely to hit the top of her supreme glory days again.
