That could be the argument for any performance modification on any car... could it be a question of consistency of components? The R53 is an easy car to ‘modify’ which helps the owner to personalise their individual car, could that have been in mind as the car was manufactured? I have no idea, but I enjoy it! 👍🏻

The ‘Not So Hobo’ diverter or the ‘Dam Air’ diverters? I bought the ‘Dam Air’ quite a while ago, but keep forgetting to fit them! 🤦🏻‍♂️ Your plans sound ace mate! I’m sure either choice will look epic! I thought I had a large list, but I think yours is larger man! 😂

@@SULKNATIONtv The Not So Hobo ones, on Whatageek. That was my plan before the cracking price on an Airtec fell in to my lap lol. It's always a big list, but i just want something a bit different for how it looks. Everyone goes for the Aero kit which i'm personally not a fan of on a black car. Main issue is that the Orranje R56 bumper and bits needed or the Garbino kit is mighty expensive. I find it hard to justify spending on bits that won't make it faster 😅

@@TB.JCE10 Body kits are at least an extra 8bhp. 😂 I feel guilty when I don’t make a purchase for the car at least once a month. Due to this, I have worse debt than when I was 21 (...and that was a lot). Cars. 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

Just stick everything on paypal finance and pretend it's not, life pro tip for ya there. I keep getting emails from them reminding me how much money they can lend me, it's like they know i want some new shiny bits. Unfortunately tomorrow is the day my car officially goes in for all the work it was supposed to have recently so i wont have it for a while. Plenty of time to accumulate more parts i think lol

😂 very good point! Suspension is the next! I’ve got a video filmed, awaiting editing, about what lies a head! More bracing is on the list too! Just got to save some cash... I’m not good at saving.

Had mine just about a year. Completely replaced the suspension and brakes. A lot of the bushing were worn out. Haven't done any hp mods. Car came with a 15% pulley. By far the best thing I've done to increase all around performance is light weight 15s with a 205/50 nankang ar1. Dropped 15lbs a wheel and lowered the car a 1/2 inch. Acceleration, cornering and braking have all improved dramatically. The car is primarily used for rally and touge racing. I'm doing a hill climb so currently doing all the safety stuff. Race seats are in. Cage and fire suppression system are going in soon. Oh and I am going to add a header and exhaust. I hear it will pick up 10hp but it will for sure drop like 40lbs over the stock system. Other then that I don't see the point of adding more power.

I’m not 100% sure but I think Orranje ship internationally. Worth contacting them to see if they can. Oli from Orranje is a good guy and may be able to sort something out...

And power difference

So I didn’t dyno it, but the spool up of the supercharger was definitely quicker! The car felt like it picked up some more torque and a few more horses… based on my ‘fast car’ experience, I would estimate the power of my R53 at around the 200bhp. I did also run an Ultragauge in it, which confirmed 200 ft lbs of torque… 👍🏻

@@SULKNATIONtv I know that very well sir! I used to own an R52 convertible S, with 15% pulley, ramair intake, and 62mm IC, and it pulled on 300 hp cars. And it is way heavier than the R53.. incredible power band, felt like a V8 haha

I would! It’s debatable but I’m of the opinion that you should ‘upgrade’ your intercooler from stock if you’re running a 17% reduced pulley. 👍🏻

a larger intercooler is essential when running a -17% pulley. Intake temps rise instantly. Dont get sucked into buying an expensive Airtec though. The core is a generic Chinese item with modified end tanks and their own diverter. Just buy a 60mm chinese jobby mate. The MTC one is a chinese one, but you pay another £50.
