For all the sensationalism surrounding the events of Oct. 7, when Hamas broke through the Gaza fence and seized territory in the Gaza Envelope as part of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, there is still much that we do not know. The official Israeli death toll from the attack is estimated at 1,200 civilians, revised from an initial estimate of 1,400. Among this figure are several hundred civilians, which Israel says were killed by Hamas militants. Other testimony from survivors of Oct. 7 suggests an alternative explanation-that in its fervor to defeat Hamas, Israeli commanders may have willingly targeted and sacrificed Israeli soldiers and civilians in the crossfire. Max Blumenthal of The Grayzone joins The Chris Hedges Report for an in-depth look.

The Hannibal doctrine used in the Israeli army is horrible enough, but to apply that to civilians of your own country and just massacre them just to dealing with them as hostages is so appalling, so inhumane. It basically means that the lives of your own fellow countrymen loose their value once they fall into enemy hands. It considers civilians to be disposable items.

Unfortunately, there is no audience for the truth. When the massacre at Amritsar occurred in India and the British soldiers fired into the crowd, the British were outraged because it was carried by the news of the time. There were journalists and photographers present to record what happened. Furthermore, the British population was intelligent enough to digest the news and react to it. If Fascists control the flow of world media and protesters are arrested or fired from their jobs or otherwise persecuted, it will be a slim chance that affords us any justice in the future. I feel that these crimes will be like most of those by Stalin and Mao, largely unrecorded and unremembered and ripe for repetition.

Let's be honest, the idea and Netanyahu do not care about their own hostages. Of course on TV they're going to say they care about the hostages but just think if Israel is blocking clean water, feel, electricity and medical supplies, that affects the hostages also. If they're blocking food and water what are the hostages going to eat and that's not even taking into account the bombings. Those hostages have to be somewhere in Gaza in one of those buildings or scattered around in different buildings so if they're bombing every other building they're most likely going to kill the hostages too and if the bombings don't kill him like I said no water no food no medical supply and no electricity is going to kill them then. But Netanyahu doesn't carry he'll just blame her mom's for it he'll say Hamas killed all their hostages but you got to use common sense. Why would Hamas kill all these hostages out of the blue, you have to ask yourself. The whole point of having a hostages is to have some leverage and some type of deal. But like I said Netanyahu does not care about not only Palestinian civilians he doesn't even care about his own civilians

I've listened to some testimonies from kibbutz residents stating Hamas treated them well and that the IDF went in firing their tanks and guns indiscriminately, no attempt at negotiations or finding out what people were where. I have a simple theory that is behind the genocide . I see Bibi as pissed at his people who did not agree with his new regulations to control them ; changing their democracy to a new level of "autocracy" with him in charge. He organized the slaughter at the concert , making sure no security was triggered...allowing it, to occur. He then had the freedom card to proclaim, he was at war with Hamas .The smirk on his felon mug said it all. He wanted to be at war with Hamas and get rid of the Palestinians, for decades. He now, had carte blanche. His government should have exposed him as a fraud when they had a chance. They blew it, and now, there is this unleashed monster, who feels vindicated , with the help of the US behind him. That is my "view" of the genocide happening in Gaza. Bibi should have been locked up but he got loose.....How ironic is that ? A person who should know about genocides is now, the trigger of another genocide, using different excuses, to validate his psychotic behavior. How was that missed ? HOW ???????...

Almost the first words out of Netanyahu's mouth to the press on Oct. 7 was, "This is Israel's 9-11." To my mind that alone predicted the genocidal game he was planning to play and that he may have had a part in letting it happen.

Is that number really reliable? Even if it was 100 children dead that is too much, but I don't trust either Hamas or the IDF to be reporting numbers accurately right now.

Nobody is talking about Shariah law. If you had to flee your land because of paramilitaries like Irgun, Lehi, Haganah and others, then live under an occupation for 75 years you're going to have a lot of angry people. Especially when you accepted them as refugees after the holocaust, only to have people organising illegal immigration and setting up violent paramilitaries that targeted women and children (Dier Yassin, Safsaf just to name two of hundreds of attacks on civilians). I'm honestly shocked at the lack of knowledge of what started this mess. Does anyone ever ask why many inhabitants of the region have no resemblance to Arabs? Occupation leads to resistance. It was true in Algeria, Iraq, Afghanistan etc etc. You can't take land and homes then complain when there's blowback. That's just stupid. There's this issue in the West Bank where there is no Hamas.....so what's the excuse there? Have you seen homes being confiscated? I've seen it with my own eyes it's heartbreaking.

Second - on Religious freedom, in this specific context: Have the minimum decency to read the history of the region, and how under Muslim rule of over a thousand years, the Jews of the region thrived, lived and participated as a productive minority for 1000+ years! We are talking about Palestinian Jews. When Europe was patently anti-Semite, in the middle ages, and Jews were being shooed off in the streets of Europe, they had full happy productive lives in Muslim Palestine. This was the case since the conquest of Jerusalem by the Caliph Umar. So please. Rest your case. Unlearn the programming. And at least attempt a journey into truthful appreciation.
