What you were calling the spider in the wineglass is what we call a Daddy Longlegs -- a good guy who controls other insects in the vicinity and they don't bite.

Oh Amy, I hate to tell you that I burst out laughing when you had a spider panic! I don't have a problem with spiders, except one nasty called a whitetail which gives a pretty nasty bite. I get my son to deal with any I see! I'm impressed with your plastering skills, I love the colour, especially the contrast with the wood. And Marc, that repurposed wardrobe front really works well to hide the cylinder and pipes etc. I do like the plastered wall effect, it just works, doesn't it? Well done both of you!! Big hugs xx

Turned out great. Very warm and cozy. The end bit with don't plaster with a cat, made me smile and remember one of my loved and now gone kitty cats ,who walked onto a wet painted floor, and amazingly only left 1 paw print as proof he had been there. I saved that. I still wonder how he managed that feat of getting all the way across the room with a paw full of paint but left only 1 telltale mark on a window sill. 🤔😆🐈🎨

I‘m not a fan of spiders either. So I started the tradition of naming any spiders around me, which makes me feel like we know each other on a first name basis and are cool with each other. Mostly they‘re either called Agatha or Arnold, depending on how I‘m feeling. The long legged ones typically end up being Agathas. Short legged hunky ones make good Arnolds. Every now and then there‘s one that just calls for a more unique name, like Elfriede or Marmeduke.

@Daytona2
@Daytona2 Жыл бұрын
Using the wardrobe faccia as an alcove cover was genius, Marc ♥ the warmer toned plaster, Amy - I love toned down warm colours like terracotta, brick reds and red pinks Prioritising the coach house sounds good - it could even provide an additional income stream for a month or 2 in the summer, which could be useful as it looks like the western world is heading for a nasty recession. If you do let it, perhaps erect some Yurts or similar for yourselves and treat it as a holiday. Have you ever considered allowing camping, somewhere far away from the Chateau, for privacy ? Just a basic, unpretentious amenity, to minimise the workload - a field with nothing more than a portaloo for people passing through.

Hi Amy and Marc, well done both of you on what you did in the bathroom. From the position of the camera when you were applying the masking tape Amy I first of all thought you had overstretched and slipped off the stepladder. Fortunately, you didn't, and it was only a crane fly, alias daddy longlegs. Lovely job on the walls. Marc, that was very innovative using the front of the old wardrobe as the doors to the electric cupboard, c'est magnifique mon ami. Best wishes.

Very good idea for the doors, the rest of the cabinet with its shelves could be used for the pantry.Thank you for being considerate to the spider .Excellent reflex to protect your lungs with mask and your whole body with muscle stretch after working.
