Charlie Munger warns about the biggest inflationary bubble in world history bursting and shares his thoughts on how it is going to unfold. He elaborates on the difficulty of building wealth for the young generation of today compared to his. Charlie says that we’re flirting with serious trouble and the consequences may be worse than what Paul Volcker was dealing with in the 1970s.
Being a vice chairman of Berkshire Hathaway and the closest partner (right hand man) of Warren Buffett, Charles T. Munger has a net worth of around $2 billion. He is a profoundly wise man who is absolutely worth listening to, especially when it comes to investing, the psychology of wealthy people, rationality, and life experience.

Concerns about a potential recession and the Fed's talk of interest rate hikes have left me uneasy. I'm unsure about my $440k portfolio strategy, considering the uncertainty of a recession and the possibility that interest rates may not rise significantly

This recession is most likely the result of an external factor. For the first time in decades, the United States is losing its clout as a federal reserve currency. They don't have any more economies to use to control inflation, and less money is being spent on stock and oil trading than in the past. They all lend support to the idea that a new multilateral world order is in the works.

People believe their currency has the worth it does because they have no other option. Even in a hyperinflationary environment, individuals must continue to use their hyperinflationary currency since they likely have minimal access to other currencies or gold/silver coins.

The value of money you retain in cash or in a low-interest account decreases annually as inflation becomes a permanent feature of our lives. The only way to grow your money is through investing, which is also the only way most individuals will ever have enough money for retirement unless they have a very high income.

Our economy is like a flailing fish, fighting for its life. The normal state of the U.S. economy is actually very bad. Because of this it goes into convulsive spasms fighting to grow any way it can out of desperation. Tricks, gimmicks, rule changes try to stimulate the economy and prevent it from falling but they only bring temporary relief to people since, when you factor in inflation we are declining.

Inflation is gradually going to become part of us and due to that fact any money you keep in cash or in a low-interest account declines in value each year. I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day investment decisions being guided by an advisor seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using my advisor for over 2years+ and I've netted over 2.8million.

In every crisis, there is an opportunity," as the saying goes. The 2024 recession, while challenging, presents unique avenues to amass wealth. First, it's essential to remember Warren Buffet's advice: "Be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful." During recessions, assets often undervalue. By investing wisely in stocks, real estate, or businesses during this downturn, you position yourself for significant returns during the economic recovery.
@alexyoung3126
@alexyoung3126 6 ай бұрын
An obvious way to invest for a recession is to buy shares in businesses that are likely to experience steady demand even in a downturn. Typically, those are consumers staple, utilities and healthcare companies. But of course, such decisions can’t be made by an average joe, a financial advisor is highly recommended in making this decisions..

Since the outbreak of 2020, which had a significant impact on the market, I've been running all of my investment decisions through an investment coach because their entire philosophy is centered around using a high-profit oriented blueprint while simultaneously going long and short, as well as reducing risk exposure as a hedge against inevitable downtrends. Underperforming is almost impossible when combined with their access to strange data and analysis.

I would like to add that the German reparations for World War I were so massive that they had to print money to pay those reparations, mostly to France. One joke was that the price of a cup of coffee went up between the time you ordered it and the time you got it. Also, the expression "money to burn" came from the Weimar Republic because it was cheaper to burn the currency for heat than it was to buy wood with that currency.

I think the stock and crypto market will go sideways or down just slightly over the next 6 months. I'm hopeful there won't be anymore interest rate increases. The restart of student loan payments should be more than enough to get inflation in check. Personally, I think student loan payments should have resumed a year and a half ago. We probably could have avoided a lot of the inflation that has occurred over that time. It may have even been "transient" inflation as many were calling it back then. Early/mid 2024, interest rates should start dropping and the stock market will head to the moon. when news gets bearish start buying. "Keep it simple" that bear/ correction was the best thing that happened me.

I believe there are essentially three issues that make our time harder than charlie's (1) - Investors are better educated. Value investing was a breakthrough by Ben Graham and Buffett. But now everybody knows how to do this. So cigar butts are extinct and everyone's got their eyes on the golden eggs. (2) - There's too many companies. And this makes it much more unpredictable how an industry will evolve. Back in the day you could expect consumers to just choose the best product. now there's so many businesses consumers may just go to whichever seems reasonably priced. The best company doesn't necessarily win anymore. (3) - Too many investors

The US was at it's peak when we manufactured alot of products and provided the world with raw materials like steel. Unfortunately, US politicians allowed most of the production to go overseas. The easy solution, heavily tarrif imports and give corporate companies real insensitive to keep work in the US. That'll never happen. To many politicians are bought and paid for. They're supposed to work for people, they don't. Politicians will sell their soul, and country for money. At some point, the debt will have to be paid. When that happens, the poor and middle class will suffer greatly.

If you ever compare yourself or what you have or don't have with others, you are undoubtedly a very miserable person deep down inside. America and Western civilization is very sick. The West is tearing at its own flesh, because our focus is on materialism and not the eternal, because no one is getting out of here alive.

So you think we all should go homeless for a year and a half? Housing is my biggest expense, good luck not paying for it.
