Great Tutorial! I was looking for exactly this for couple of weeks now, thank you! I'm wondering if it's possible to also implement a sort of Collision-Detection, like with a reaction diffusion? Maybe only with one point which extrudes all over the surface.

Great! Will you also talk about a way to turn the particle-paths into real curves? There’s is a kind of fake way by instancing a lot curves on to the point of each frame, but this doesn’t work as soon as you wanna do non uniform things a long the curve

I had to rewatch the video :) Looks like all you need to do is set the "offset scale" on the "extrude mesh" node

Thanks for your tutorials. On this one, though I understand all the math involved I have a problem at 06:39. Correct me if I am wrong. If we plug the normal input straight into the offset socket, we’ll get the normal of the “noodle”. However, in 3.6 when I cross product the random vector with the normal I get from Suzanne, everything disappears and never comes back. I can send you either the file or a screen caption. Any ideas,on the subject? After some checking (I offset suzanne by the cross product and nothing moved, I positionned suzanne by the cross product and everything went to 0) it seems the result of the cross product is 0. Means the random vectors and the normals from suzanne are co-linear. Did I miss a turn somewhere?

Awesome Tutorial. the Simulation which is playing in timeline is smooth and complete. but the same is not reflecting in Final Render. Please explain how to render.

I also had issues with rendering - it is all still alpha and under development...

I don't think this work in any blender version after 3.5.0 Alpha. I have tried. Blender 3.5.0 Alpha also seams to no longer be available.

I think it's a bit early to create tutorials for simulation nodes already. They might just confuse people when it's actually released.

There are millions of videos of people reviewing things like cars, and smart phones and everything in between that are not released yet. It is very important to know whats coming in the future and curious people can get a head start by simply watching a few tutorials and get a feel for new features.

@erik.... Very weird comment - Blender comes out with a new feature, and you're saying people shouldn't make videos talking about how the feature works because it might change in the future? I find videos like this IMMENSELY helpful

@@TheCGEssentials sure, I just think there are too many outdated tutorials out there, and this feature is not even in the main branch yet. I would call it a preview, not a tutorial.

@@erik.... I am here 7 months later. Though the version is a little bit different on 3.6 LTS the tutorial works fine.
