They wanted to block her for a opportunity they didn't want to give her she's did the right thing by leaving that dump and for her co-worker he has nothing to worry about he's going to get a bigger opportunity .

I wish Lynette Romero & Mark Mester the best. KTLA handled Lynette leaving so wrong, all the others who left were given the opportunity to reveal their news & say good bye. KTLA lost me as a viewer.

What Mark did only shows what are friends for. Very touching tribute for a friend no matter that it cost him his job. Wherever you go Mark I wish you success in all your undertakings. Surely we will miss on air but in our hearts you are still there. Had stopped watching Ktla 5 since.

KTLA lost me as a viewer. I used to watch Mark and Lynette on the weekends, and I really liked their chemistry together. Now I refuse to tune into ktla after how they handled the situation. Just a couple weeks earlier, they let a white lady anchor say goodbye. Ktla was just being petty and vindictive because Lynette is going to a rival news station. If they had just done the right thing and let Lynette give an on-air farewell, Mark might still be there, and I and many other viewers, would continue to watch. I hope their ratings tank!

Clearly KTLA doesn’t respect the loyalty and dedication from Romero. Mark did the right thing in calling out the pettiness and unprofessionalism of the entire KTLA network. Good luck finding more viewers and great staff. People deserve respect especially long term staff that have dedicated a quarter century of their life in loyal service to the station.

Lynette has been at KTLA for 2 decades and not even allowed to depart gracefully. Shame on KTLA. Also, Lynette, Mark and Dayna were what made weekend mornings fun to watch that early. The station should know that their on-air talents are what drive viewership to the channel.

I remember watching them on the weekends last year when we would go to LA all those time in October / November !! I remember seeing Mark and Lynette on tv an saying wow I like them a lot ! But wow I never thought she would leave and he would get fired wow !! The last time we went to LA was in July and hopefully we go again this year but this is sad , poor Mark hopefully he finds better place

Yeah, too much change to fast.... I didn't know Mark got fired. His news reporting is thorough. He is well known throughout beach cities cause he surfs. Not to mention, easy on the eyes. The weekend show is stewing in a crap soup complete with a run of the mill news anchor desk, nothing to write home about. I miss Dana, Lynette and Mark. It was awesome when Liberty made a special cameo appearance this past weekend and graced us with a small portion of the weather report. Ah, good times.

They were both so great to watch. I turned it on albeit briefly this last weekend and the lady Megan Telles they’ve been shoving down our throats recently was right there. Cheerful as ever to take Lynette’s place. The guy wasn’t good at all. They both acted like they won the lottery. So fake. I love Frank Buckley, Jessica Holmes, Eric Spillman, Mark Kriski and Wendy Burch and Sam Rubin during the week but will no longer watch the weekend crew. They all seem like cutthroats. What in the world is going on at KTLA?

Mark was insubordinate. Whether you agree with him or not (I agree with him). But either way, that insubordination makes him unemployable in that field. You cannot have an on-camera talent that is capable of going rogue. Period. A complete breach of trust.

Regardless as to whether the station handled his co-workers departure appropriately, you can't trash your employer on live tv and not expect to get fired. He can explore all the legal opportunities he wants he will lose.

This is an unbelievable storyline, unacceptable that they would treat them like that unprofessional by the ones that decided that they didn’t want them working together anymore, that’s a true friendship away from work, for a lifetime , anybody with a heart would stand up for a good friend despite what might happen to there on career on the air, if it was myself i would do a similar thing, and then I would defend myself as needed

Someone will give him an anchor and/or correspondent job. He wasn't doing anything bad, but supporting a friend who deserved a proper retirement. Why are people getting fired or replaced because he spoke up. Neither were treated with respect! Nor given an opportunity to explained what really happened. It's all about RATINGS! They don't care about these two individuals who have given years of their lives to this station. She might of retired and/or fired. We don't really know why she left. Lynette, don't be afraid! Let the world know why you really decided to quit. We will back you up. As for Mark, he didn't deserve this treatment either. I pray to God that he gives you both a better job opportunity, and takes care of those who have caused you harm. God doesn't forget people's Sins. I am sure they declined her farewell to her audience. She didn't decline to give a farewell message. On the contrary, they were upset that she was moving on and didn't give her a chance. What a bunch of sore losers!

It wasn’t that Sam announced her departure. It was what He said. Sam practically called her an ingrate and a traitor. Sam and KTLA are all fakes under those laughs and smiles. Glad she got a better job.

What hypocrites these media outlets are. They say they report the truth but when an anchor says his truth, you would have thought KTFAKELA would have been shut down by the FCC. I burned my KTFAKELA hat that i received years ago at a community function. You guys gave great anchors to competition.

I feel like this has a lot do with over the weekend they were working and Sam (boss) was on vacation and all the anchors were joking like your on vacation in Vancouver there AGAIN! And Sam must of got mad 😮

I really like all the anchors on KTLA if not I wouldn't watch it. My favorite Lynette, Mark, Megan T , etc...& more.... What I have been noticing since Nexstar announced that they were the new owners, is that they started making changes right away. Maybe they want to start with all new anchors eventually. They said a new format was coming. Why mess with what is working? I am blaming them for the drama! Good employees should be treated with respect. Period! Some comments talk about the remaining anchors having fake smiles. What are they suppose to do? I'm sure they need their jobs. 25+ yrs ago I had an issue with mgmt at a job I had been at for 16yrs. I was respected & looked up to by my co-workers & mgmt too. They terminated me & I took them to court. My point is that I expected my co-workers to back me up like I had them during the years. They called me Norma Rae affectionately. Well, no one spoke up. It did hurt my feelings a bit. But they needed their jobs. I knew that. But just a few months later the office was remodeled totally ergonomic. I guess they were tired of good ole Norma Rae. She had to go. I am pissed at them for the people they let go. Really enjoyed Lynette, Mark, Christina Pascucci.... I'm going to watch for 1 more week to see what happens & then I will go to NBC. Sorry I was so long winded, I usually am when I'm pissed off 😠😎

I find it to be laughable that there are a few people who doesn't trust news anchors for doing their job on reporting for the news; yet, they hold attach to their favourite news personalities. I'm not giving the fault for our news anchors in its entirety; I'm just stating on the climate of reporting the news and presented to the viewers. Nowadays, it's this: - The "fans" are scorned - Morale is low at KTLA - One is moving to KNBC, where I don't believe it is going to help bump the ratings in the long-term - The other is thinking of suing [lovely] - A Hispanic Group is not happy that there's no Hispanic news anchors @ KTLA. What a time to be alive in my home town.

Mark, though seemingly supportive, perhaps did not know the entire story of his colleague’s exit. Bad timing. I don’t think he will win the case for bashing KTLA live on TV. He should have done his research first before opening his mouth. Lesson: don’t bite the hand that feeds you !
