Whats the fastest possible speedrun in the current versions of minecraft? Today we will try to predict how speedruns and their speed may evolve in the future by using parts of real minecraft worlds, combined with a real world player with great RNG luck.

wow, it's clear you put a lot of effort into this! i never thought an in-depth analysis of minecraft speedrun mechanics would be interesting (or that there are so many factors to consider, lol), but you made it fun to watch. very well organized and thoroughly researched... great job!

crazy to see how speedrun has evolved, at the time of your video, speedruns were hard to even get close to 14 minutes and now were at almost sub 9 minutes, thats insane

Ok. What if we have the same seed, and we just run to the temple? (10 seconds) Enter the temple and drop down without tools (10 seconds) Fall and break the sandstone and sandstone and all but one TNT, then activate that TNT with the pressure plate (10 seconds with perfect execution). And now we have plenty of stone for making our tools and climbing out of the temple. Once we get out, we blow up an acacia village house for wood (maybe 30 seconds) At this point we craft our tools and a bucket (5 seconds?) And we use our shovel to get flint and steel, immediately using 2 TNT to get hay bales. (15 seconds?) And run over to the lava pool (10 seconds?) And build a portal (10 seconds?) While the water is draining we craft our bread and eat as much as we can (5 seconds?) Then we go through the portal (5 seconds?) We find a fortress and are at spawners within 50 seconds (good but people have definitely done better, that gives us like a 300+ block take sprint jumping I think). I don't know how much we wanna assume about blaze luck, but if we're there by 2:40 that's a pretty solid time. Especially if we already have gold, piglins and some decent bartering luck as we could have obsidian for blind or educated nether travel by the time we've killed blazes. Although keep in mind if we really did go 300 blocks in the Nether, we're already at stronghold distance. So I think it's not impossible that a heavily optimized and very lucky run might get within 200 of the stronghold blind, get there in 30 seconds, and find a cave, ravine, or ocean for an exposed stronghold. We'd be in the end by about 7 minutes and with a lucky immediate dragon perch, beds made from string we got trading or from the temple or from the village, and an extra pearl or two, we might be able to beat the game in under 8.

Wow, that's quite an optimised run right there :). The thing is that when I made this video there simply werent any runs close to this time that I predicted, but as the time goes on they become more and more advanced. Maybe one day we will see something like this :)

At this point I think sub-3 minutes is possible, I don't think it will ever happen but I do think it's theoretically achievable

TNT strats, lucky piglin trades and lots of gold, and lucky blind travel from the fortress could *annihilate* this time. Sub-10 is within the realm of possibility and hyper-optimized hyper-lucky runs might be sub-8. TAS-like RSG runs could be even more heavily optimized. But at some point the luck is too good.
