So, today’s question is from ROBERT. He asks, What should I take for my neuropathy?
In our 19 years of treating peripheral neuropathy cases, we’ve found the basic foundation for nerve repair begins with the essential nutrients that nerves need for their health and normal function and these nutrients are even more vital when the nerve is damaged. So, clinical studies have shown that when trying to facilitate nerve repair and regeneration the Vital Nutrients to lay this foundation consist of: Benfotiamine, Pyridoxal 5 Phosphate, Methylcobalamin, R-Alpha Lipoic Acid, Folate, Acetyl L Carnitine and L Citrulline. So, basically that’s where you need to start for your neuropathy recover. Now, I have to tell you, when we first began treating peripheral neuropathy, about 19 years ago, each of our patients had to purchase all 7 of these nutrients separately, so I’m talking 7 different bottles, which got a bit pricey. I've had peripheral neuropathy to my left hand, it was due to substances in my case, not diabetes, i want to make that clear. But the biggest improvement that I've noticed by far was after I started infrared therapy. I was already taking those nutrients by then, but with infrared light I felt the nerves literally sparking to life again, and it happened really soon as I begun. I bought a medium size FDA approved light, I really just needed it for my hand, and it was the best investment regarding my neuropathy. The hand is almost entirely back to normal sensation wise. Just 15 minutes a day, the first weeks the nerves would fire up like crazy, all types of electric shock sensations, pins and needles, and compression like feeling, but it slowly goes away. It helped me incredibly.

@@roncurtis4988 Thanks for asking. Early stage is Small Fiber Neuropathy. I have no large fiber issues. Normal NCV. Continues to improve. It’s a long slow process. May be 75% better. Will take three to five years. I have all sensation back. Still major issue is burning and numbness. Pain and temperature first to return numbness and burning improves after that. I’ll never take a drink again. This was all from white wine.

Could you elaborate on your symptoms. Since how long have you been suffering with peripheral Neuropathy of non diabetic. I too have peripheral Neuropathy since after taking COWAXIN from July-2022. I have shocks like experience on all toes of both the legs and on palms. Have pain on lower body. I have been taking Alpha Lipoic acid R type since five months and finds improvement with walking, standing getting rid of balancing issues.

I have peripheral neuropathy. I tried a lot to calm down the pain. I watched a lot of video about it. But to no avail . I tried warm compress and just a little bit of massage. In my first try it works. Now I can do more things. I just wondered why no one not even in KZfaq videos recommended warm compress. Not even my doctor.

Thank you for the supplement I am so excited to try it. I already take ALA and p5p, but was going to look for a separate bottle of benfotiamine. Having it in one bottle is going to save me money. My friend's husband had alcoholic neuropathy in his feet. He's not one to take supplements, so the three of us went to a physical therapy clinic, all for different reasons, and they used the Neubie by Neufit. It's an E stim Machine, but operates on a different current from a TENS unit, for example. One of the therapists thought for sure he was going to lose his foot or feet, but after many uses of this device, a good 95% of the neuropathy was gone. For people who won't take supplements, it's an alternative that probably will work. This device healed my sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, so I have been anxiety-free for a year-and-a-half. Yes I get anxious when the need arises, but I go back into a normal state of rest like most people, when the event is over. I no longer exist in a state of fight-or-flight. I suffered from this probably most of my life, but in 2000 it increased to the point I was having panic attacks. All of us had three different types of insurance and none of us paid anything. I think this clinic just billed it in a way that didn't itemize the device. It is fda-cleared, but I'm not sure insurance will pay for that specific item if listed separately. I've seen it work a miracle on another person who went as a result of my recommendation. There's a doctor, an MD, who has MS. By eating a paleo diet and using this device, she was able to get out of the wheelchair.

How long should one take high doses of Benfotiamine? Should it be stopped after symptoms subside? My husband has peripheral neuropathy and Gastroparesis. Benfotiamine has helped my husband’s Gastroparesis but now he seems to be having more flare ups and I am wondering if it may be because he has been on the Benfotiamine too long. I’d say he is going on to almost a year now on it.

About 10 years ago I found knee pain relief with D3. I took from 5,000 to 20,000 IU per day. What I didn’t know was that metabolizing D3 requires magnesium (and probably other vital things) and will deplete magnesium. I started getting odd cramps in the evening that Theraworx would relieve (or prevent if I thought to put it on). Sooo… I spent years in a magnesium depleted state and I blame my neuropathy on that. I can’t smell anything and can only taste a few things, sweet, salt, etc. I’ve been taking P5P, Benfotiamine, DLPA and others for a couple of months. There have been a few times when I could actually smell coffee brewing and taste root beer. It only lasted less than a minute. What kind of testing or supplements do I need to try?

I suffer from injuries I received 54 years ago in SE Asia. I had tremendous pain on my left side and a baker’s cyst behind my left leg that really limited my mobility along with sciatica. I’m on a keto modified diet but the greatest help I got was from Protease, R- Alpha Lipoic Acid and L-Carnitine and Benfotamine. I'm taking 50 mg of P5P, among other supplements for other things,no other types of B1-B6,B12 that you listed but have not see any difference in 3 months. I was taking 100 mg of P5P but decided to reduce it . I've read that B6 (even P5P) can actually cause foot neuropathy to worsen but I'm not taking that advice just yet. Any thoughts?

After taking the recommended vitamins and dosages for a month my B6 blood serum result has jumped from 70 to 240. I am concerned with that level and if it keeps rising may cause worsening of my neuropathy. I am taking the P5P version. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

I bought 1 bottle of Nurphoria gold gm. It says take 4 a day. It seems a lot to take all at once as I’m on other meds. Simvastatin. Amlodipine, 1 aspirin & CoQ10. I take these at night. Can I spread the 4 tablets out throughout the day and get the same results? My neuropathy is from chemotherapy. How long does it take for this to work? I went UT Southwestern years ago and they told be my B-6 was to high. Found out that too much can cause nerve damage. Always thought it was one of the water soluble vitamins so you would excrete any of excess. It just keeps getting worse. My question is why does your formula contain so much B-6? Thanks

Hi, C Bone. That is an excellent question. The synthetic form of B6 called Pyridoxine HCL can cause nerve damage in high dosages. Since it is synthetic, the body has to convert the vitamin into a sustainable form, and some do not have the ability to do so. The Pyridoxine HCL builds up in the body and has a hard time leaving, resulting in the nerve damage. The natural form of B6, however, Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate does not cause any nerve damage, even at higher dosages. The body can take in up to 7000 mg daily without any risk. Now, no one needs to take that much, but I say this to make the point. In the natural form, B6 is perfectly safe. As someone who suffers with double foot drop and wears two AFOs I was thrilled when I found these videos. But, then when I discovered their solution to neuropathic pain was to purchase products from them my enthusiasm changed to skepticism. Cycling is going to help immensely for peripheral Neuropathy. I have symptoms of mild sensory loss in both the feet and both the palms. I don't have diabetes and I am taking R type Alpha Lipoic acid since five months. My pain has been reduced by at least thirty to forty percent. Difficulties were there to climb the stairs and losing balance while u-turning. Cramps were experienced during one to two minutes of standing. Awakening during night times because of muscle tightness in legs, arms and throats have all been reduced.

I am diagnosed with radiation-induced PN which is painfully affecting my feet, lower legs, balance & gait. A large portion of my cervical cancer treatment in 2019 was radiation - (2 permanent interstitial seeds, external direct beam to my pelvis 5 days a week for 5 weeks, then intracavitary radiation twice a week for 5 doses along with cisplatin chemo once a week). The physiatrist (doctor of physical medicine) who performed the EMG/nerve conduction test that confirmed the diagnosis was intrigued because he said radiation-induced PN is so very uncommon. One tidbit of the little information out there I've gathered so far is that it is a completely different ball game than chemo-induced PN. Is this true? Will it be more challenging for me to treat with your recommended regimen or is this one of the few PN conditions that is irreversible? Can you provide info or do a video specifically on radiation-induced peripheral neuropathy please? Thank you. - Anjeanette

First do no harm! My goal is a few chosen and proven safe supplements like vitamin D3. Then I want to work up to 15,000 steps or more on a white sandy beach probably in the Philippines where I can afford to live on the beach. And when I get tired of swimming and walking just lay on the wet sand. I have got my Top Five Beaches selected, but there are thousands so that's subject to change.

We do plan on doing some videos on central neuropathy. There is some overlap. @@Richardanjno It's Nature's Bounty and I take one 5000 mcg a day. So far I don't notice and change in my feet but there seems to be gradual improvement in my hands. My neuropathy was caused by chemotherapy (oxaliplatin). I don't know if you can purchase it outside of the U.S.

I have found that most of the B12 products on the shelf are the cyonide type. I did find methylcobalamin and it is the only one I feel good about.

Peripheral neuropathy affects the nerves that come off of the spinal cord. Those would be the ones that go to your limbs, internal organs and face. Central neuropathy affects your brain or your spinal cord.

CAVEAT EMPTOR. They have a lousy distribution system I have been waiting for months for my shipment and nothing so far. This could be a scam or Ponzi scheme but I certainly hope not. I went ahead and ordered all of the supplements separately through Amazon and received everything in two days. The doctors both have a very pleasant teaching style but they need to hire someone to get the distribution system up and running. I either want my meds or a refund I don't think I'm asking to much. This was actually a last ditch effort for me I was told by several Neurologists and Doctors that I was stuck with Peripheral Neuropathy because nerves don't heal and I'm so tired of living with this. I hope it's not a scam.
