Effeniecy is key. I have multiple size forges, so I'm not heating a huge area for 1/2" stock. Had to learn the hard way as I built my first forge.

Over the years that I have been forging I have built a number of gas forges, and they all have worked well. Some were bigger and some were smaller. A couple of years back I picked up the Mr. volcano hero forge and absolutely love it. Just the right size for the majority of the work I do.

Nicely covered. One thing I would add is that if someone wants/needs a two-burner forge, don't buy one where the burners are so far apart that there's an area between the burners that doesn't get as hot as the rest of the stock. Ask me how I know!

Helpful video Roy, I’m currently looking at a gas forge for my business. Was informed by city zoning commission that I would not be able to use a coal forge due to the smell. Settled on a Mathewson single burner forge with integrated fire brick doors. Once taxes come back I’m gonna get things settled and start figuring things out.

The Mr. Volcano forges are no longer available. I am not sure if they went under or what is going on, but I haven't been able to find one available online for a while now.
