My first pay check was R234, it went to towards transport. I got another job and for about 7years I spent most of my money on black tax and getting myself back to school. As my salary grew I started saving 50% of my salary, but I was still living at home. When I moved out last year I used my savings to buy a cellphone, a bed, tv, wardrobe, microwave and fridge. I've been busy decorating and furnishing my place since, I suffer from impatience so I buy on the spot without comparing prices. I want to get back to saving again, but I also want to get a car and the thought of that deduction makes me very nervous. I don't know if I'm discliplined enough or earning enough to carry that much of a debit order and have life insurances, RAs etc.

This is great and informative. I've realised I'm an enabler, there's black tax and student debt. The 'glow up' part of having a job has not happened yet, but I'm learning and willing to do better where my finances are concerned.

I love you with bobbed hair.. Not sure I've seen you with it before. Beautiful! Great advice! The part when you said "preparing mentally", changing one's mind for finances is the hardest part.

Looking gorgeous😍❤️ love love the hair, I budget on an excel spreadsheet & when I go grocery shopping I dont have visibility of my spreadsheet although I have a cap amount in mind, I end up overspending

I am 26yrs old and just clocking 2yrs at my job. I also hit my goal of saving for my Emergency fund. My plan is to start investing in government bonds as of May (it will be a consistent thing monthly and I will just automate those payments so that (out of sight is out of mind) comes into play. My question is what now? What do I save for next? 😅since investing and emergency fund are now both covered.

You are right in most instances we are enablers of financial or any kind of abuse

That is exactly mistake a lot of people making. But if you live like before and save that extra income will take you a step ahead in time. I just made a video on how to look good on a budget, check it out.
