Can you give an example on an anatomy/physiology concept and how deep you went?

The kidney. Everything. Literally everything.

For example, vasopressors. As an ICU nurse, the mindset is pressors = increased BP = increased systemic perfusion. But in anesthesia school we go DEEP. Vasopressors -> increase PVR/SVR -> to increase mean systemic filling pressure to overcome right atrial pressure (venous return) , which in turn increases your CO. Venous return = CO. Then there are other factors that can affect this (e.g., sympathetic/parasympathetic stimulation, auto-regulation, renin-angiotensin -aldosterone system) On our last A&P exam, about 75% of it was short answer or essay response. Like Jason was saying, its alot of information at a very accelerated rate and you have to master the content. But that's why most program don''t want you to work. It's supposed to be hard, you're going to be taking care of people with their lives in your hands, and that's why CRNAs get compensated well. Anesthesia school is my job for my future career, it's difficult but well worth the effort.

Definitely not. Never received any study guides or test banks during school and never heard of others having this.

how is that even fair? new information given to u in 1 day and then expecting an exam next week? isnt that a GAMBLE way of teaching a profession that is gng to be dealing with human lives?

I can understand where you’re coming from but the whole thought process behind what they’re doing is that they expect people who are in these types of programs to have the level of intellect where they can retain all this knowledge in such a short period of time
