Here in this video I give you all the things you need to know before Marine Boot Camp. If you study all the things in this video, you will definitely be more than prepared for Marine Boot Camp. Marine Corps Bootcamp is already hard enough as it is, so why not make it easier on yourself. Make sure to study these things before Marine Boot Camp, I promise it will help. I’m not sure if you really notice, but you’re a blessing to future recruits should they choose to listen. These are great simple & effective tips that can save future recruits a headache or two while going through boot camp. I’m not a Marine, but I’m pretty confident that everyone catches hell at some point in time...no matter how on top of their game they are; so why not try to minimize or shorten the severity of it as much as possible?

Correct. The instructors will literally make shit up to get on a Marine for. It’s not personal. It’s to see how the recruit performs under stress and their ability to follow simple instructions while under that stress. It’s also to break them down as an individual and build them up into a Marine that cares more for their brothers on their left and right than themselves. Personal example, instructor hung an Irish penant several inches long off the brim of my cover during inspection. Then proceeded to berate me and fail me based on how nasty I was and it was so long he could rappel off the damn thing. Best tip is to never take anything personal.

It took me about two weeks to remember the 11 general orders and rank structure. I used a white board/notebook and just wrote them out exactly how they were written on the marine corps site. I wrote them down at least twice and on the first try I did it without looking at the General orders and then on the second I would correct them and rewrite them when I had it memorized. I did this every night before bed and I remember them by heart.

"Sir, this recruit's first general order is [....], sir!" -Rank Structure "Sir, e4 in the marine corp....." -Practice your verbage (speaking in 3rd person, different ways of speaking for different things). -Chain of Command (and 2 people who you should definitely know who they are). -Basic Marine Corp knowledge

Thanks this helps a lot especially since poolee function have been cancelled due to covid-19. I was only able to attend one poolee function before they cancelled them. This helps, I will definitely try to study these before I ship out on May 4th to Parris Island.

Im going thro screening right now, for the marines, I was looking at reserves but do you think going enlisted would be best instead knock out the 4 years and get the full benefits instead of some. If you stay reserves after so many years would you eventually get full benefits as an enlisted?

NEW marine here, this does help by learning before hand but everything you need and requirements will be meet and taught to you in boot camp, so if you have the will power you will do better than just good.

May 5th 1976 I showed up to Parris Island on the bus and the only thing i had known about the USMC was what I had seen on gomer pyle USMC. Our drill instructors were right out of viet nam. They kicked our asses. Remember one thing when you get test where they ask you questions like; do you like walking through the mountains, or sitting under a tree. always say you dont want to move, you might get a desk job

It’s not exactly this anymore but: it’s basically if you live on the East side of the mississippi river you go to Parris Island. If you live on the west you go to San Diego. they changed the exact barrier recently but it’s generally still the same.
