From the trailer, it would appear that Miguel switches instead of Hawk. Hawk seems more determined on improving himself as Miguel seems more interested in just simply fitting in. So Miguel is more vulnerable to corruption, especially since he believes that Robby "stole" Sam from him which in reality he just became friends with her. And bear in mind that Miguel does not know Robby is Johnny's son so that could potentially push him over to join Kreese.

Gotta admit, Johnny Lawrence has the best lines in all of entertainment!

Daniel Marquis Just met him yesterday at C2E2 with Ralph Macchio next to his table. Good lord is he an awesome guy. I was the one he initially was talking to and I was having him sign something of mine and my family was standing behind me waiting for me. He automatically included them in the conversation and even gave them all handshakes. He made a new fan yesterday, him and Macchio who I also Met 2 years ago are some of the kindest actors ever. Amazing men.

Second season is going to be better because they don’t have to establish the characters like in the first season they can just hit the ground running.

Season two is going to be fantastic I love the first season so much that I’ve watched like seven times

I saw in an interview that the three creators/writers had so much written for season 1 but only had enough time to use HALF of it in the actual season 1. And that was before they spent any time on season 2. So this should be great.

It's not about the teachings being corrupt, they just weren't ment for normal kids. Kreese learned martial arts in Vietnam where that type of teaching would most likely be needed for a soldier in the vietnam war.

Alexander Chan ... Something to think about. William Zabka played variations of the same character in the eighties. Look at his filmography and watch the movies such as Back to School and Just One of the Guys. Now that he's older, parts are probably very hard to get. Cobra Kai is a potential gold mine for him, Ralph, and the brilliant producers who have resurrected the Karate Kid and have audience demographic spanning generations. I lost interest in KK after the second installment. Mike Barnes was a clown, as was Terry Silver. Daniel has been hard to figure in this round. Obviously he has been financially successful in the car business, but he seems to be incomplete in the Karate business. Not much Miyagi residue in him. He's even turned the Bonsai tree into a gimmick. His daughter was innocent in the original damage caused by her friend wrecking Johnny's car. He sees her and puts her in the same category as Daniel. I think she will figure strongly in the upcoming season. As for the Kreese factor, he will be a common enemy for Johnny and Daniel to unite against. I want to see Johnny break Daniel free from Kreese, Kreese attack Johnny and end up with broken hands and a nose pinch and honk by Johnny and Daniel.

Johnny wants redemption from who he was as a student and the broken person he became from how he was emotionally and spiritually wrecked by he and his friends being assaulted and thrown aside by Kreese after his defeat, along with the shuttering of the Cobra Kai doors. I think the fact that Miyagi stood up for them resonated somewhere inside of him and it took Miguel and the reforming of Cobra Kai for that to really start to bear fruit. He's still Johnny and still kinda a douche. He only knows the ways he was taught. He's also trying to grow and I respect him a lot for it. He's trying to teach what he knows without turning his students into what he and his classmates were. So there's a struggle with philosophy there. Of course, with Daniel having put students of his own against Johnny(including Johnny's son) and has opened his own dojo and now that Kreese has returned, he is going to struggle with wanting to fall back on the old ways and wanting to truly be free of Kreese and his rivalry with Daniel and becoming his own man. I see a lot of potential in this series and am very excited to see where it goes.

@@chrisscott3071 the teachings are corrupted though. He taught them the quick, easy route. He didn't teach accountability, he didn't teach morality or purpose. What he taught them in season 1 was 'Victory at all costs', which is what Kreese taught. Johnny, unlike Kreese though, has a good heart and is a good person. He'll change, he'll bring Cobra Kai out from under its older, more corrupt teachings and reinstitute a better teaching.

In the trailer we do see Kreese with some of the students of cobra kai I am going to guess that some of the students will want to learn more aggressive moves and techniques and kreese will be the one to show them it will almost be like a cobra kai civil war with kreese on one side with the new girl who I think is related to mike barnes as his star student against Johnny with miguel

Karate itself was taught to the weaker to fend off against the stronger, it is an ambush technique, a jump kick was developed as a means from jumping off an elevated platform to kick an opponent off a horse. Because the bandits, soldiers and other oppressors were well armed compared to the farmers and fishermen who learned the martial arts. The only thing at the end of the day that matters is survival.

It is called self defense, however you should understand that you are defending yourself through violence and that may result in injury and death of the other person. So you should only be willing to raise your fist if you can live with the consequences. However the most dangerous person in the dojo is not the black belt, it is always the white belt, because they are the one who doesn't know control.

Indeed... No mercy... John Kreese was a soldier... War is hell... This means you do what you have to in order to win. He brought these principles back to teach as effective ways to win. Cobra Kai may have to change their motto or w/e it is. I hope John Kreese Takes control of Kobra kai and introduces the same fighting styles that Daniel faced in the other movies. The ones that he couldn't handle but plot had him becoming victorious. Perhaps there might be a split in Kobra Kai....

having a dojo together would be bad. i would prefer them to be separated and as a good rival dojos. it's that rivalry that made them better, by eliminating that, how can they both evolve. the point of competition is not to win awards but rather to learn and experience one's limits when competing, and discover flaws that needed improvements. and only rivalry can show that.
