Love Russell and his bikes. Great to see him. I randomly called Exile last year with a product question. I could tell it was him. I didn’t acknowledge it though. He was super patient and spent lots of time answering questions. That’s how to run a business.

I've always liked Russell's style. A lot of the bikes built 10-20 years ago don't look good anymore, with the 360 tires and tribal flame paint jobs, but Exile's minimalistic style still looks great.

Exile was/is my favourite custom bike builder and Russell comes across as a very humble bloke in true Brit/West Country style. Good on him and long may he continue.

I don't usually like custom bikes but Russels bikes were always appealing clean looking works of art. No fancy paint jobs, just honest engineering. Simple looking bikes are never simple to execute. the expand done good. Wish him all the best for the future 👍

I admire Russell’s total honesty. Very good interview that tells the truth. It’s not all glitz and glory. And even when it is, it eventually comes to an end. I’m glad he survived it and seems to be humbled by the experience and more importantly, he learned from it.

I saw several Exile bikes inside the Winter National drag races lot in Pomona Ca in 2008 and fell in love with them. I ended up buying The Exile chopper a couple years later from a guy in Florida.after regularly searching the net for Exile bikes. I took it to Russell's shop to have it looked over just as this downturn in domestic bike business was starting to happen. He downsized his crew to just this wizard Blake and him. It's been to his shop several times until he told me one day to find someone else to work on it. I'm still looking for that someone. Russell always comes through with a short reply on email or phone. And I still have this bike almost 14 years later...and still love to ride it and its the styling, and the power.

The Discovery era made a huge impact on the motorcycle industry. Russell's bikes still look just as good today. I bought a brand new '18 Indian and it's all matte black and devoid of chrome....a style Russell pioneered 15 years ago.

Watching Russ on Biker Build Off changed how I look at motorcycles. His perspective of pure clean and sexy directly influenced how I own/ride my bikes. If it doesn't serve a purpose towards performance, then it is excess waste. I am forever a fan of this man and his craft.
