My "haha I'm in danger moment" was when my family went Finland , I was sledding and I was going down a hill with a bend . I got the the bottom of the hill, looked around the bend and saw a bus driving towards me. Almost got killed but seconds before I got hit some lady saved me. I rode that bus to the store-

I was in Las Vegas to watch my then boyfriend run in the marathon. I was going to cheer him on at mile 17 and I got lost walking there. I ended up walking along the street and no one else was around except for a car driving alongside me with a guy hanging out of it telling me that it was cold and to get in his car. I am a petite girl and was creeped out. I was talking my my grandpa on my phone so someone would know if anything happened to me and where I was. After a few blocks, the guy gave up and drove off. I once I got to mile 17 and waved at my boyfriend, I walked along the rest of the marathon to stay safe. I felt like a poser, but at least I was safe. You would think that my boyfriend would have been concerned after I told him my story, but no, he was mad at me because he couldn’t find me at the finish line. My phone was dead by the time I got to the end and was looking for him. I didn’t know how to get to the hotel and was wandering around Vegas again. By some miracle, I bumped into him on a monorail type thing. I was so relieved and happy that my wandering was over, but he just chewed me out for making him walk around more after running a marathon and how could a possibly get lost? I was basically blamed and shamed for the whole thing. He was gaslighting me, but I didn’t see it at the time. I was so ashamed of myself and believed him that everything had been my fault. He didn’t care that I had been in danger. I hate to think of what could have happened if that man had grabbed me and thrown me in his car.

The first story reminded me of something similar. I was talking my dog to my grandmas. It was only one of the first few times I had taken him to her house. We parked across the street. He was off leash cuz he never wander far from me. But he really liked my grandma so he was excited and decided ded to cross without me. Just as he started to cross a fast and furious car came speeding around the corner. (Still a problem on this street despite the fact that multiple kids live on this street) So I scream his name. Thankfully he still has his hearing. He stopped and looked at me. The car passed mere inches from him. I had 10 wonderful years with him. He and my grandma were best buds. He passed two months after her.

I had something like the first two happen. I was walking down a street in my neighborhood, headed home after high school. I went to cross the street as usual-looked both ways even though the street is usually quiet-listening to music. Suddenly my gut told me to look up and milliseconds after I looked up and to the left, some jerk came speeding down the street at probably 35 in a 25 zone and I leaped backwards about two feet just as he passed. Didn’t honk, didn’t stop, just sped to the intersection and turned onto the intersecting street. I stood in the middle of the street for a second, just breathing and thanking every deity in existence for my intuition.

@@JamesDavy2009 I think my problem was that I got too comfortable in my space. My neighborhood is very quiet, but that doesn’t mean people don’t treat it like a racetrack. Since it’s right next to the high school campus, some students park on that street and go through one of the yards that backs against the campus. So at the end of the day they go back to their cars and some drive down the hill at ten or fifteen above the speed limit like the dumb teens they are.

I went to six flags and went to a roller coaster called the Cyclone. As soon as we started moving, I regretted it. At the beginning you go really high. I was closing my eyes because I was scared. As soon as I opened my eyes, I could see the the entire park and life flashed before my eyes. We went upside-down, sideways, all directions, just like being in a cyclone. I was born in Puerto Rico and I was alive during hurricane Maria. When the ride ended, my first thought was, "Huh, I'm not dead!" and, "So that's what it feels like to be in a cyclone/hurricane." .

I occasionally would go on long walks through the city, a narrow train “bridge” of sorts is near my house, and I’d walk under it on my route. I’m calling it a bridge, but it’s more like an elevated track with a tunnel under it. The tunnel is on the road, and is one lane wide. To make it more dangerous, engineers thought it would be a good idea for the one lane tunnel to also curve to the right. On a casual walk I decided to walk through the narrow curving tunnel, when I heard a car zooming down. I instinctively pressed my body against the wall of the tunnel, desperately trying to be as flat and flush with it as possible, so I wouldn’t get hit. Long story short, the car missed me by a few inches. If I would have gotten hit, I would have been killed.

Mine was when I was about 10 and still living in America. I was riding my bike down a steep hill, and I was so panicked that I would die that I couldn’t find the brakes. When I walked faster, he walked faster. My mind was going crazy about what I was going to do when he stopped stared at me then went out of sight. My instinct kicked in and I ran to that toilet locked my self in it and stayed in there for a long time till I thought it was safe to come out (I was 13 when this happened)

The bank one, while plausible, seems odd to me. Mostly because I'm trying to figure out why they didn't have an opening all clear signal. We did when I worked at a bank. The first person went in and did a sweep of the bank to make sure that no one was there, then put up the signal saying it was all clear. If you arrived and there was a car there, but no signal, you called the bank and there was a code we used to ask if everything was fine (sometimes people forgot to put the signal up). It wasn't just my branch either, the whole company did that. It's so something like this story doesn't happen. Take overs like this are pretty rare, they definitely do happen, I was lucky when I got robbed that it wasn't one, but I worked with someone who'd been in a take over situation. Banks are usually set up to try to protect their employees as much as possible, though, through various safety measures. I'm also surprised someone ran off. That is absolutely not what you do in that situation. Those people got super lucky that day.

I was at the salon doing my hair, then just at the corner street not more than ten meters away, a car came speeding from a car crash straight to the salon. The people doing my hair ran away and my body froze. I couldn't stand up, nothing. As the car neared, I thought, "Yeah, I'm dead." Just the car was stopped by a small metal pole not more than three meters from the building glass. When it stopped everything in my body was numb. the woman finally started worrying about me and gave me water. Man I was almost sure I was gone.

Story 1: I'm assuming it was a zebra crossing where drivers must yield to pedestrians. People will start as soon as the pedestrian leaves their lane unless multiple people are crossing both ways. That is common and legal. What isn't legal is the second driver swerving around the first driver. Love your Roger Rabbit impression after Story 3. When it comes to Story 5, the advice you gave will save you from the hospital; especially in the drinking capital of the world: Australia.

My “haha Im in danger moment” was about a few months at a casino in downtown Vegas. I worked at the pool. One day a storm was coming. The winds were absurd the pool had to close. I was trapped inside the main bathroom. To go to the main area where everyone goes when the weather is bad, I have to go outside. The wind storms in Vegas are no joke. Traffic lights get brought to the ground sometimes. The pools turn into a mini tsunami and there’s lawn chairs that can fly and hit you as well as these big brown cabinets and day beds. I decided to go to the main area because we’ve had power outages and it’s like a scene in a horror flick in the bathrooms. I held on to those rails for dear life. My uniform was soaking wet and I felt like I was going to fly out. If I didn’t hold on to those rails, I either would’ve flew or been thrown to the ground.

I have a I'm I danger moment and it goes like this. I was 12 at the time when it happened and my mom was helping to fix a pothole in the street I was out there watching because I was a curious kid. My mom asked me to go and get a shovel since someone else had come and wanted to help so as I was heading back to my house someone had left their gate open when they obviously knew that the dog they had was aggressive so as I reach in front of the gate the dog rushed out at me and as soon as I saw him he was jumping up at me my reflexes kicked in and my knee hit him right in the neck he backed off and came at me again, as soon as I was preparing to run the owner came outside and kicked the dog to me it seemed like the dog flew away as fast as he came and that is my "Ha Ha I am in danger" moment wasn't funny to me at the time though. Edit: I have another story to tell I was spending the summer with my grandma and aunt from my father's side, It was about noon and we had a big breadfruit tree I was picking up the breadfruits that had fallen out off the tree to feed the pigs that we had around back, I picked up about five, then I went to feed the pigs. When I reached their pens I fed the piglets and the rest of the pigs except one, he was a really old pig that we had for along time now and he was very aggressive keep in mine I was 9 at the time so I was very mischievous I had the last breadfruit and before I threw in the pen I was spiteful to the pig, I acted like I was throwing the breadfruit into the pen then stopped at the last minute, So about the third time I did this the pig was fed up with me and I heard my aunt calling me for breakfast luckily I had backed away from the pen as soon as he charged at it, it was a wooden pen and it seemed the wood had rot over time he charged straight out of the pen and right at me I threw the breadfruit at him and started running as fast as I could. I have never ran so fast in my life as soon as I turned the corner to go back around front the first thing I saw was my brother and my two cousins were spiting me because I had to feed the pigs that morning but, I didn't pay much attention to them and just sped past them. While they stood there confused not even a second later the pig came around the corner his huge size for all to see, I sped I the house and went upstairs and hid somewhere then I heard my brothers and cousin run in the room where I was a little while later. They told me that our Uncle and Grandpa caught the pig and let's just say we had pork for dinner that Christmas. PS I have too many of these stories.

Two from when I worked public safety at a retirement community. We had two assisted living facilities (that's where you're always supervised by nursing staff) but most of our residents were in independent living, at different levels depending on how much money you had, from apartment blocks to duplexes to individual houses. We're talking hundreds of buildings and thousands of residents. We had our own dispatcher and ambulance service. I was an EMT. Most of my calls were medical or fire response, but my department was also the security force. We drove police crown vics, but we wore a "soft" uniform and didn't carry weapons. First moment was a fire alarm at one of the apartment buildings, in the middle of the night. My partner and I respond. I'm the senior officer, so I take the lead. The dispatcher traces the alarm to a specific electrical closet. I remember to feel the door first before I open it, like you're supposed to do. It's cold. I open the door and step inside. I'm looking/smelling for smoke, so I have tunnel vision on what the actual problem is. It's not a fire, it's a flood. A pipe had burst in the ceiling and water was cascading over a cabinet full of electrical equipment. My partner and I are standing inthe rising water. We immediately beat feet before we got fried. But if I had been electrocuted, I would have deserved it. The second moment was from a night I was working by myself because we were shorthanded. Another call in the middle of the night, this one was a resident was a report of someone walking around disoriented. We had a lot of people with dementia, even in independent living, so we always investigated these calls. I found the guy. He was a big guy in his sixties, and he was carrying a golf club. Rather than being confrontational, I was friendly and I said something about it being too dark to golf. He said "I'm not golfing, I have enemies". Ha, ha, I'm in danger. I retreated up the nearest stairwell. The dispatcher didn't want to call the real police, so I spent the next fifteen minutes trying to talk golf club man into going back to his apartment. He didn't want to, because he said a bunch of people had moved into his apartment without his permission and they refused to talk to him. The dispatcher notified his daughter and she wanted to talk to me. She expected us to move him into assisted living that night, which we couldn't do. I ended up in this ridiculous three way negotiation with the armed man on the floor below me and his dysfunctional daughter on the telephone. Then golf club man just wandered out of the building and I couldn't very well stop him. We ended up calling the real police anyway, which is *what we should have done from the beginning*. Except for the dispatcher I was by myself and I didn't even have a weapon. In general I was proud of my ability to handle things through negotiation and verbal judo but sometimes you have to call for backup. If I had to do it over again I would have just told my dispatcher if he refused to call the police, I would.

I've got a really good "I'm in danger moment". Rode to a hangout spot with 2 friends. The other friend that didn't drive was busy talking to a girl. I was sitting on a bench alone. The friend that drove was talking to a guy about speakers for his car. The guy he was talking to was a black guy known to be a trouble maker. He told my friend he had some speakers at his house to sell him. My friend tells me to come on and go with them. I did NOT want to, but the other guy was staring at me. Reluctantly, I get in the car. We leave, head over the tracks and pull up in a driveway. I wanted to stay in the car but both of them told me to come on. This guy walks up to a house but goes to the back. Red flag number 1. We then walk 6 houses down. Red flag . He tells us to wait there. I'm thinking "we're screwed". 10 minutes later and this guy isn't back yet. Finally my friend whispers "They're watching us." WHAT!!? "Shhh, they're hiding in the bushes watching us." WHAT!!? "When they leave we can go back to the car". My friend said he had a gun but I think he said that so they would hear him. He didn't have a gun. The guys hiding in the bushes left so we headed back to the car. We got back to our hang out spot and told the others what happened. One guy said he was distracting you. My friend looked in his back seat and his speakers were gone. We're extremely lucky that all we lost was speakers. I didn't stop hanging out with that guy but I did start driving myself everywhere we went after that.

One time I almost killed myself in a forklift trying to dump a bin of emptied catalytic converters into a dumpster. Since the forklift couldn't lift the container properly due to the weight difference I decided to tie a metal chain around the bin and use the forks to swing the bin over the dumpster knocking enough cats into it to dump the rest. Well it worked at first but the metal bin swung around and headed toward the forklift with me buckled in and waiting for my doom. If not for the metal frame along the forklift hat bin would of knocked me clean off the lift and most likely ended me right there. Instead it hit the forklift and and swung a little afterwards. As soon as I lowered the chained bin to the ground I unbuckled myself, got off the forklift and sat on the ground thinking about how dumb and lucky I was.

My story for this subject: I went out with my brother and his friends. We went to a grocery shop in our zone because they wanted to grab a beer and some chips. When we arrived there, a man was beating up a woman, having her hair in his fist he continuously banged her head against the ground. I was in shock, couldn't do anything but stare, and everyone else went in the shop to grab what they wanted. When they came back, we stood there for a bit to make sure that the lady was okay because she kept screaming "my baby". After like 2-3 minutes her child came back running. I thought that we were good to go, but then my brother decided that it was a good idea to show the middle finger to the man that was beating the lady. He stared running after us- with a knife. Then we all started to run away, everyone went to the left and I followed my brother up the stairs and ran towards our home since it was pretty close. When we looked back, no one was there. We went back towards our friends to see what happened and if they were okay, and then we see an ambulance and police car. Someone called 112, the man was arrested. When I saw the man got up, as soon as he made one step towards us I just ran as fast as I could. I'm not even fast but that day i ran like I have been my entire life.

I can remember once back when I used to have cattle I went out into the pasture to check on the herd as you do what this day I guess the bull just woke up pissed off and was wanting to kill something. I open the gate and rides I step foot into the pasture the bull comes around the corner of the barn very clearly mad and and is looking right at me. Well I try to slowly back away or keeping my eye on the bowl but it's looking more and more like he might end up hitting me against the fence posts or something and crushing me to death. But thankfully my dog at the time who has since died (RIP Sam) rushton jumped-up between me and the Bull to get the bulls attention and led the ball away from me which allowed me to get to somewhere safe.

My moment would be when I was I think 10 and had just won the MVP trophy award for my school cricket team, I went home celebrating and we had a shed with a roof that I could climb onto and would play up there, it was flat enough to walk on but still tilted so a bit dangerous but I was used to it, I went up there and played around but accidentally dropped the trophy I was holding and my body leaped for it, I caught the trophy but when I landed back on the roof I was sliding down about to go of the edge, there was concrete below and it was a big fall, I quickly utilised what felt like 100% of my muscle and adrenaline and stiffened my fingers enough to stop my entire body weight from falling off but pushing them against the 1 tiny nail that was at the end of the roof 1 inch from falling off, I was safe but I had let go of the trophy and off it went, I watched it fly down and smash into pieces right in front of me, I was sad, but it could have been me instead and not the trophy.

Ok so mine is when I was hunting I was in a hut but some how the deer I was hunting (a large young buck) started walking towards the hut its head lowered and I was like "oh shit this dude knows I'm here he's gonna charge" so of course I had two choices sense the hut was basically a tent either shoot run or pray this mf doesn't actually see me well I chose the first one and only after I realized the dangerous reality of what almost happened and than for the next few days I had lots of yummy deer sausage (sorry I can't spell properly I'm dyslexic)

Roger Rabbit is a lot of things, but he'll *never* find murder funny. So, no way he'll let the pump stop working on a bouncy castle with people inside, especially if they were real people. A toon can survive that kind of prank but not a person. I hope OP ditched that so called friend.

4:45, that dont make sense, if it was a single engine aircraft, ok, but if it is a dual engine aircraft, it wouldnt make sense, because the engine would be on the wing, not anywhere near the pilot feet.

I don't mind all the little extras you put in to the stories, but for whatever reason, the little vignettes are getting longer and longer and really taking away from the themes of the thread itself. Please, just say a few words and move on instead of writing while extra stories. I really really enjoy listening to you read out the reddit threads, but the extras are getting too long.
