In memory of Kirstie Alley who passed away from colon cancer in early December, 2022. We're going to review a very fundamental and necessary lesson from her fight with cancer that we need to internalize.
Colon cancer is the 3rd most common cancer, and is rising at 2% per year. Currently the standard of care is to check the cancer for polyps every 10 years. That means a person could have had a growing cancer for that amount of time, or even longer (if it's missed).
It's critically important to understand our personal risk of cancer through careful analysis and respond appropriately to our risk, rather than follow population guidelines.
In the meantime, one can improve their microbiome as the microbiome makes up 70-75% of our immunity and ability to fight off diseease.
