Hi Mark. So sorry for your loss. In regards to update issues: 2 years ago I took my 18R coupe in for a leaky front diff. Got an F pace loaner. No questions even as I live 100km away. That was going to take a couple days and get an infotainment update as well. The update wouldn’t “take” as they say, and they ended up having to order a new control unit (IMC) for infotainment. Took a total of 2 weeks. Then tried to do another software update a couple weeks later, which took 4-5 hrs of waiting in dealer lounge. I see there is another update now available ( for over the air updates??). Not in a hurry for that. Have you noticed any differences with new software update Mark? Also took the 68 E type out for a drive yesterday. Glorious day. Made a ton of people smile with many thumbs up!

I bought a 9 year old (way older than they would normally sell, but it was immaculate) 28,000 mile XJ from a UK main dealer. It had to go back for a minor problem and for the two or three days it was with them I was given a brand new XF. Excellent service.

Yes! I have a Range Rover Sport that experienced a SIM card problem. I was on a trip from MD to NYC. For 2.5 hours I had no radio of mobile phone connection. Park the car over night, cam back the next morning and everything was working fine. Know that it’s important to keep your software updated, but do it at your home as the car is looking for your WiFi connection. Congratulations!!!!

Actually did have a similar problem with my 2018 F-Pace. My infotainment “live” services stopped working around 25k miles. Fortunately, all was covered under warranty but the sim and infotainment computer were replaced. It took about a week for the dealer to sort it all out, including JLR in England linking directly to my car to mess with the hardware. I was given a loaner no problem and of course their service department bent over backwards to keep me informed and happy. Fortunately this didn’t affect drivability while I experienced issues before taking it in, mostly it was a minor annoyance that the online features like weather and internet radio weren’t working. Thanks for sharing your story and glad we aren’t alone with infotainment issues!

Yes these cars can be expensive when they go wrong but the positives outway the negatives. A good honest review again Mark thank you.

Congratulations on your award, well deserved. Agree with all you say about the fabulous F type. Did they look at the cross brace corrosion? What was their comment?

Gotta say, as someone who was interested in the f-type, seeing so many thumbnails in your videos having to do with problems with the f-type, it's probably cured me of my curiosity. I know you say it's worth it for the thrills, but for me I'm thinking the headaches aren't worth it.

Good morning Mark, I'm glad the dealer is taking such good care of you, I absolutely am impressed with that part of the story, I do though have an issue with the time frame to fix/update the car 😥🙄, I certainly have an issue with the cost of the repairs, I believe you said there's 33,000 km on the car why do the brakes need flushing (or such type work),or is this a money grab 🤔🙄, I had a Porche 944 turbo when they first came out, the first " service" cost me $1500, oil change and whatever putting around crap they claim needed to be done, I wasn't impressed and couldn't justify the cost for an oil change, yes I was very disappointed (I'm saying it politely), glad you got the car back, a week (5 days) long time to wait n install a sin card, very disappointing, its a tiny item put it on a plane or something, ok I'm done my rant, enjoy your car as the weather is warming up, Hi to your family and stay safe my friend 😎🇨🇦🏁

Congrats on your KZfaq achievement and your R beauty; is the color Eiger Grey? I'm sure Jaguar have sorted out the tweaks on the new refresh look; all cars give us headaches and we deal with them when an issue occurs. V8 coupes is what I like to drive and my present beast is changing next year to 4 cylinder hybrid electric and so far this equation is not computing with me lol and I'm considering the F-Type R for 2022 along with couple other choices. I bought a 2012 xf 5.o supercharged a couple of years ago. It's better and faster than a 1987 Buick t type and a 2016 charger 6.4 which I've owned . It's the best car I've had. I've had more than 30 cars in my life. Only problem has been a pothole which cracked a rim. The rim cost $ 1100. It's got 80,000 miles and runs incredible.

I had a SIM cards fail in my phone! Not being able to write to the SIM card is not the fault of the car. I haven't driven an F-Type, but I can only imagine how good it is to drive based on my own XF-S.

Just about to pick up a V6S ..hopefully Jaguar U.K. will give the same standard of service here 👍

Hi Mark First off our condolences to you and your family with regards to your Dad I was interested in this invoice for your maintenance on your F Type. I can understand the brake flush every three years as well as the oil and filter change The one I was surprised with is the transfer case fluid change. The maintenance does not list fluid changes for transfer case differentials and transmission. I agree it is very important and on my 2016 R I will do these this spring with only 38K kms. How did the dealer decide to do only the transfer case and not the front and rear diffs ? Thank you for your very good videos of the Jaguar we both own.

In my opinion, F-type is the best looking car! Wish I could afford one.

Don't necessarily count on wearing it out. I have a 2010 XKR with the same engine, pulleyed and tuned to about 600hp, and I will pass 190,000 miles next week. The car still looks and drives like new and remains my daily driver. Excellent reliability, in fact, the most reliable, enjoyable car I've ever owned in 52 years of owning many cars.

Maybe this post is 3 months old but when I had my 2 litre f type now have a 5 litre f type I took my 2 litre in for a update.During the update the screen went black and would not power back.The dealer had the car for 2 weeks before they could get it to work again.I was told otherwise it would need a new screen scary price.

i have 2015 rear wheel drive the only problem i had twisting the drive shaft the first year i had it 2 weeks to get a drive shaft

Thanks for the vids on the F type. Definitely got my attention. New the past history with Jags so wasn't really this way until recently. Couple of things. So was you total 980 CAD or 2000. Sorry but I got a bit confused when you said you budgeted 1100 but it was lower than the dealer did all the added work. So just for clarification purposes can you let me know what the total amount was. Also do you still feel as strong since I plan on checking a 2022. Thanks

Jaguar take Mark's F type in for servicing and they keep it for a week - Time to check the mileage ! Jaguar should have given you an SVR and a free service for all the credit you give them on their product on your platform.
