Who's theory did you like the most?

I want one that actually takes place in the Wild West. Not when it’s ending

I honestly think that the Mac Callender theory fits the well loved Red Dead Redemption theory the best. Starting with the formation of the gang and ending with the selfless sacrifice of himself to save the next protagonist. This case being Auther Morgan. It just fits so perfectly. Another option I've been thinking about would be a game where you play as the traitor Author metions to Tilly, although it shouldn't be obvious at first. You would play through the earlier days of the gang and the main plot would be that you end up finding out that Dutch never really cared for the gang but was just using them. HIs redemption would be trying to expose Dutch to the gang, but end up being framed and killed by him along with Micah perhaps. Then the epilouge would be you playing as Arthur Morgan in the weeks leading up to Blackwater.

I would love a Landon Ricketts story line about his time as a wild gunslinger roaming New Austin, Mexico or further west.

I guarantee you that intro alone took about 3 weeks to make

Having a game during the end of the civil war and beginning of reconstruction would be amazing. Imagine hearing in game about Lincoln’s assassination, the politics of the time, and a more free Wild West.

I love the idea of the second theory. A story playing as Arthur’s Dad and then playing as young Arthur seeing Dutch and Hosea would be awesome.

I think Mac Calendar would actually work. In the first game, John sacrifices himself to save his family. And in the second game, Arthur sacrifices himself to save John. With a lot of these ideas, I don’t think continuing John, Arthur’s, or Jacks story makes sense. It’s perfect how it is, and a sequel or another prequel makes no sense. It would be nice to just have a new story.

Awesome video! Loved all the theories! The Red Dead Reconstruction concept mentioning multiple playable characters immediately gave me a sonic adventure type impression where each character has a story of their own and meet each other throughout their individual stories.

John and Red Harlow could fight the mysterious stranger because he layed that curse on armadillo. Also setting John and Author’s deaths into stone.

I like the Callender idea. I’d include some sort of sympathy for the devil stuff for Dutch so we wind up having a full story of his degeneration from idealist to big bad. You could include SO much in this time frame: Indian wars, Reconstruction, and unresolved elements like the Blackwater massacre, Ricketts, and Red Dead Revolver.

Very nice of yall to leave this video behind for your great great grandchildren to look back on whenever a new read dead game comes out.

I love the callendar theory we see the vdlg in their prime, young Arthur, Hosea the whole lot. There is so much potential here because of the unknown of who they could’ve been with and away from the vdlg. Arthur had a family once maybe one of the brothers do too. Themes and narratives repeat themselves in this universe and a finished story of the vdg would tie it up nicely. Mac saves Arthur and he saves John, arthur and Jack meet Ross by a river, Jack kills Ross by a river. (Maybe high honor Mac could survive and Milton just taunts Arthur)Callendars could resemble the brothers from hell or high water- one can be dealt with the other cannot

I am completely on board with SeanEazy's story with a Red Dead title that takes place after the civil war. The redemption circle has already been completed, with Arthur and John's redemption having been completed, and the wild west ending with Jack Marston. Having a story that takes place after the civil war would leave many opportunities, with possibilities for indigenous characters, outlaws, soldiers, being endless. It would also help bring history to Red Dead Redemption that would help build the world and it's story. Reconstruction allows more titles to come out from the time period between 1865 to 1898.

HUGE props to the intro. It felt like i was watching a vice documentary, or even a western series. That was really cool and awesome effort. A professional video.

I’d been thinking that Mac’s story is probably the best idea so it’s cool to see this theory. It would be able to follow the same themes and arcs as John and Arthur’s stories. Maybe some people would think that’s boring but I kinda like the idea of history repeating itself in this series. Plus it gives us another opportunity to play someone we haven’t met before. And now knowing that Arthur’s jacket was Mac’s I mean c’mon lol and I’d love if it ended with the Blackwater massacre so we could see what all went down

Also, during a random camp encounter, Bill says that Mac “Was heartless, but he had a heart.” That sounds like a very protagonist-like description imo, similar to John saying in the epilogue that Arthur was both good and bad

I would love to see maybe you start the game as Dutch and then find young Arthur and "recruit" him, love to see Uncle, Dutch, Hosea and Arthur on their first robberies. Also, I think the biggest mystery in the entire series of Red Dead is the Blackwater ferry job. So... I would love to see it actually happening (maybe as a prologue mission), or it would be a real nice plot twist if the game would and with them going off to the mission but it ends before they would start the robbery.

A prequel of one of the old gunslingers that Arthur takes pics of would be perfect

Here’s my concept: you play as Lyle Morgan, the father of Arthur. It begins during the Reconstruction Era and is about Lyle and his various conflicts as an outlaw with the game ending with him being hung. While that is happening, the camera pans to a young Arthur in the crowd. Similar to Red Dead 2, there’s a 2-part epilogue. The first part you play as Arthur when he first meets Dutch, and it shows him joining the gang and doing his first few missions with the gang. And the second part, shows what happened in Blackwater, connecting it back to Red Dead 2.

The callender theory is my favorite and what I feel to be most like but I have a theory myself, so post rdr2 you see the lot of the gang that surrounded John in the epilogue leave Sadie becoming a bounty hunter and Charles leaving to Canada, I think this would be a great placement for story as either Sadie or Charles given that this point in time was only a few years from johns death this gives opportunity to maybe see a happy ending for once Charles makes it to Canada just fine but in that trouble maybe he runs in to old rivals in one way or another or maybe even showing Sadie Adler hunting down the remainder of the odriscols and attempting to hunt the pickertons that wronged them and towards the end of either story or both they see that a boy out west is writing and publishing story’s of the gang they once were in themselves under the writers name of Arthur Morgan or “Insert important gang members name here” and Sadie goes to check it out wanting to hunt down the old gang or see an old friend and Charles comes down from either curiosity or revenge and once both them make it out west they find a older jack writing books and tales of the gangs adventure and they all rejoice in seeing each other again but jack confesses that he’s being hunted by the law for killing his fathers killer and you know rockstar takes it from there to flush it out cause I’m not a story writer

Love that True Detective style Intro!

I want to see Arther’s father, Arther talks about how he was a no good drunk but we play as him, and he tries to stay with his son and be a good dad but the outlaw life keeps dragging him away and making the players feel bad for him until he gets the chance to be with his son, he’s captured,maybe law, rival gang, or something else then hung

I would love to see more of the Native American tribes taking part in the series. We could explore the lives of Rains Fall and his people with new characters such as outlaws, bounty hunters and government officials taking part in a whole new story line and maybe seeing a young Hosea cameo.

Landon Rickets is an infamous gunslinger who witness the fall of the west first hand being in its prime and downfall in 1911 he was a lawman and as with being such a good gunslinger you expand on the gameplay mechanics and explain it by saying Landon is more experienced than Arthur and John which he is. As well Landon was at the Blackwater massacre, with the use of perspective you could have a little irony that maybe Landon was the one who shot John without knowing it was him. As well he could’ve seen Mac callender death as possible he was the one who rounded him up. And finally Landon story isn’t fully known so there’s lots of space to come up with compelling ideas. Landon could have his own cast of characters in his story which would be a fresh take on rdr. He could even have his own redemption of being a cocky gunslinger who hardly cared for the meek but becomes a noble revolutionary

On the theory about playing as a lawman, that whole idea is amazing, and an ending to that could be a twist tie to the other stories, maybe our main character being killed by John or Arthur, or even a story from the pov of agent Ross or miltion

Love the idea of it going back in time... I'd also love to see John's year away from the gang - what he got up to! Huge potential there.

I think w/the reconstruction theory you could play as younf dutch right after his fathers death in the war This would allow us to truly understand dutch and his actions/ideologies in thr later games This would allow us to meet a young arthur and john It would also allow us to see Dutch's charisma/coercion on the young impressionable arthur and John

I would like RDR3 to continue backwards in time following Dutch and how he builds the gang. We could get backstories for all of the characters we've come to know and love along with all of the great action RDR is known for.

Since Red’s story is kinda folklore in RDR I think it would be pretty cool to do a retelling of his story with a little bit of new story and dynamics and make it somehow canon to the RDR universe

The bounty hunter protagonist idea seems like a pretty good one. It could be one who was a big part in taking down gangs, as the first thing shown in rdr2 is a message saying that the gangs are being hunted down and destroyed, so it would take place before rdr2

to add onto the Red Dead Rebellion idea, i would love a full django style Red Dead chronicling slave rebellions across the south. the dark tones, emotion, and revenge/retribution aspects of the story could be amazing.

I feel like rdr3 would be a prequel to rdr2 with the player living as one of the characters who died in the black water massacre and getting to finally see what went so wrong in that heist.

I would actually really like to see Jack fighting in WW1. RDR1's story ended in 1914, the same year the war began so is will fit in the time period so well and there is just so few good games about WW1 (Sorry for dogshit english btw)

I think the Micah idea would be much better as a dlc. His origin then events leading up to his run in with the gang. From there we could see his side of the story through his twisted perspective and understand his motives. Thus completely altering the narrative by explaining his side and why he believes his actions are justifiable. I personally love this idea because Micah bell is heavily inspired by Charlie Prince from 3:10 To Yuma.

I personally like the idea of continuing Jack Marston’s story, because even the late 1910s-20s had elements of the Wild West still present. You could have him basically operating in the same capacity as criminals like John Dillinger or Baby-Face Nelson, along with the early bootleggers, out on the plains and in the backcountry as the true transition into the 20th century begins. Basically it’s a “dead” west and the applicable weapons/technology and tone are generally the same as with the other two games, but just more apparent that the Wild West is dead and that Jack and others are aimlessly fighting in an impossible era.

We finish Red Dead Redemption with a character that doesn't have anything left. We could see Jack's descent into depression and then he meets Red.

The stories rockstar can tell are endless. For me it definitely has to be how the gang was formed. And maybe a jack marston story. It makes me excited about the future game and that’s all that matters

If they did a game following Mac, then it should open with the Blackwater Heist, and revealing that Mac survived but never reunited with the gang, whether that be being chased to the other side of America allowing to explore new areas, or he was imprisoned and escaped. It allows them to tell a new story with a character we never got to meet, and have him go on a journey during the events of RDR2 of between the two games.

The true detective opening was awesome

A game dedicated to Sadie's travels post RDR2 as she heads to South America would be fun. Could even interlace the start of RDR3 with the ending of RDR2 where you play through Sadie's perspective as she hides away following the final mission of the main story of RDR2 and does her bounty hunting work until she meets up with John and then goes off on her adventure to South America.

Damn I didn't even search for this video and I'm a huge RDR fan and then I see that's is only 1 hour old. Really cool

I hope another prequel with young Arthur, Dutch and Hosea in the center. Seeing how the gang grows and becomes more notorious will be great. But this time more on the west with New Austin or Blackwater being the furthest east.

They should make it about the dang slowly forming getting all its gang memebers starting from when Hosea Dutch and Arthur all met to when they do the black water job

The Ricketts game presented by Waxy is actually a good, original idea. In the end of it, you could either have a big, dishonest reputation as a famous gunslinger or a small, true reputation as a humble one. These could each have different upsides, similar to the high and low honour system. With a big reputation, more people would know you and there would be more low-honour money based missions. The smaller reputation would have more people trust you, and have more high-honour helping based missions. It could also lead to you being more trusted by officials like the police and government, meaning less trouble from them and possibly support to fill the less-money gap (at least by a little bit).

This guy should make a movie. Damn the editing is amazing

A game with Hosea and his life adventures before everything would be really cool to see, and running around with young Dutch and Arthur

The Calendar theory is my personal favorite I think it makes the most sense to see more of the early days of the gang leading up to and ultimately ending at the blackwater hiest there’s just so much left unknown about the black water hiest and about the early days of the gang that I feel perfectly set us up for another prequel and we could use both Mac and Davey and alternate between the 2 similar to GTA 5

i'd love to see a game set in the early days of the gang. Maybe playing as Mac Callander, a young Arthur, or even Dutch himself. Living in the true west in the glory days of the gang, all the way up until Blackwater, that would truly wrap up the entire story in a neat little bow.

When it comes to Swayer's idea of playing as Micah, I think it would be better to play from the perspective of his brother, Amos Bell. That letter received from him in RDR2 holds so much weight and implies so much history between the two. And he's basically a blank slate that we know next to nothing about, other than the fact that he had history as an outlaw alongside his father and brother. We now know that he disavows that life and is a father of 2 girls, which allows for so much room for complex character development. But we still don't know his ultimate fate. I also think it would be a pretty cool epilogue section to play as Micah meeting Dutch, ending on the Blackwater ferry job.

The reconstruction and prohibition era are both solid ideas that would freshen up the series. But there is a part of me that would love to see it take place in the northern Midwest. Yellowstone, BlackHills, Badlands, Devils tower. Could take place during Deadwood’s gold rush.

I haven’t watched the whole video yet but I think having Mac Callander as the protagonist (yes I am suggesting another prequel setting) would be great since we know Milton killed him and it is implied by Javier I think? that him and Sean were quite a rowdy pair
