Things like this always remind me that we, life on Earth, are the tiniest blip in the Universe of time.

"If our civilisation is wise enough to not destroy ourselves with nuclear weapons....", nah, we're not.

We're growing up together, the human race. And we've discovered a lot of things that we didn't know. We're finding our way. Instead of thinking about *Doomsday* all the time, think about how beautiful the world is. We're all together, and together we're getting wiser. Together we can make this world better for our future generations 😊

This video kind of made me emotional for our beautiful sun. Just goes to show that we all are on borrowed time!

That was the first time I'd seen either one of them stop what they were doing to watch a science related topic. At the end of the video my wife said that was the first science related video I've watched that she fully understood and captivated her attention to watch. My daughter started asking questions. We live in a time where we know what will happen with the sun in 3 billion years. We live in exceptional times...

5:22 sadly we are not so. We fight against our own species just for something futile. We sould put our military budget in science and technology. Our space budgets barely get a part of the milltary budget.

The sun would not shine at all if not for quantum tunneling. It's gravity alone simply isn't strong enough to fuse hydrogen.

We will probably roast within a billion years. The sun will be hot enough by then to raise temperatures above the ability of life to cope - at least on Earth. This will happen long before the sun expands to the red giant phase.

I’m sure by then if humans still exist our descendants would find other earth like planets to inhabit and the human race will survive and thrive. The only sad thing is that earth will be completely gone and will be a distant part of human history.

Thinking about the scales of space - the sizes, distances, time frames - make me realize how tiny and really unimportant to anything we humans and our planet really are. The sun might die in billions of years and take earth with it, but we as a species won't witness that... a few thousand years and humanity killed itself off in a manmade, worldwide holocaust. And it makes me wonder: were, are or will be some aliens out there, thinking the same?

I wish I could be a witness to the sun’s evolution to a white dwarf, and hopefully the human race’s ability to colonize other worlds in order to survive the solar system’s changes. It would be amazing to have my consciousness uploaded to a computer so I could see what happens far in the future when our planet is no longer habitable or even in existence.

Also the sun is also tiny in comparison is other distant stars

If we manage to survive for that long our technology would be so advanced that even landing on the core of the sun or exploring what's inside of a black hole would be just like having a cup of tea so the sun becoming a red giant would be hardly any threat to us....

I had a nightmare where I saw the sun dying and the sky was waving and then we all die didn't k ow what happen but was very realistic

When i was young and felt our stars warmth on my skin... I did not think of how pleasant it was... I thought... If it can produce that much heat and energy from that distance and we this far away from it.... Its like the "gods" equation for cold fusion for humanity. And maybe that is the evolutionary tract of this dimension... To have species develop to create life, until the evolutionary tract makes them to be pure beings of energy. How many millions of years it might take. Chapters of the cosmos. What if and when we venture out into the cosmos... Will we find what we hope or what we want. Humanity does not crave other worlds.
