I’ve had idiots do this shit to me too! I intentionally park away from ppl, especially away from CUV/SUVS that may have kids cuz I don’t need dents and dings and they’re totally avoidable. My cars always last a long time and i take care of them, my Escalade still has a hint of the original new leather smell and has no dents or dings even at over 200k miles. Plus the extra distance from the door has its own health benefits so it a good 2 for 1 deal.

I found out late in life that most of my friends thought I didn’t know how to park because of how far away I’d park anytime I drove.

When my dad came back from Vietnam in 1970 he bought very nice, slightly used 1966 Buick Riveira Grand Sport. When he took it to the supermarket for the first time he did exactly what you did and parked it as far away from the store as possible. When he came out, he saw that a guy had parked an old flatbed truck next to his car and then saw him KICK the door of the truck open into the side of the Riviera. Dad said he saw his car 'rock on its shocks' from the impact. So he did what any young soldier would do...he walked up and laid the guy out with one punch. No charges were filed. 😂😂
