If you're equipped with the knowledge, experience and proper tools you can build a perfectly strong structure to live. But you gotta buy material today that is expensive.

The light weight with wire mesh reinforcing can provide all the wall strength required with aircrete. Provide tubing for electric boxes and circuits within the walls designed before pour, During assembly, installed connectors such as continuous threaded tensioning rods located inside a preinstalled tube can pull the panels tight. .Decoration happens later.

Great to see you back! If you have access to logs id build a small pole building to live in or stay in when on the prperty for now. Or if you can afford an RV. Live in that build a shed next to it for more room. I built a log home living in an old RV with a 12x12 insulated shed next to it. Lots of videos for digging your own well. Well diggers get paid by the foot so wells now days are often hundreds of feet deep when they don't need to be. The average well in the US is still around 50 feet because most of them were dug more then 50 years ago. A book I'd reccomrnd is "Wells and Septic Systems" by Max and Charlotte Alth. By the way still interested in your your heater plans.

Looks like you're in for a lot of work The question was what would you do well I can tell you what I did. I bought a piece of land built a house pretty much by myself it took 18 years to completely finish it and then I sold it for a million dollars and walked away My wife made me promise no more projects!

What would I do? Probably something similar and try to do it all myself. What should I do? Ask for some help and learn to delegate. Let us know if you could use some help. Maybe a few of us could step up and gain some of your knowledge at the same time if you pace yourselves. Don't be a stranger and we'll try and not be any stranger, too! Welcome back!

Aircrete. Request for information. There's only 2 builders I've found that I would trust their judgement. What is your OPINION about hurricane straps or some sort of safety fastener. Do you think you could attach a roof to the walls and it hold? I'm getting close to starting a 750 sqft L shaped house w/attached 266 sqft greenhouse in the L. I'm thinking about going with the panels formed in the studs like you did instead of a monolith pour. I don't know, maybe monolith would be the better option. I just don't want to have to berm my house. I'm thinking of experimenting with 6" studs; drilling holes on the 2 long ends and placing pvc in the form before pouring. While installing I want to see if I can run seismic aircraft cable (I'm a fire sprinkler designer and can get my hands on some leftover rolls) from the foundation through all panels and through the roof structure. If I do a wood deck, I was thinking about using the old type mobile home anchors that look like big auger bits and screws into the ground. I'm living and building in middle Tennessee (tornadoes), but moved here a month before Katrina from New Orleans. The storms keep following me and I keep moving about a month before they catch me. I know something is going to catch up with me 1 day.
