What happens if i take a SIBOR based loan now? Will it be replaced by SORA? How different in rates is SIBOR from SORA?

Hey Jason! Thanks for asking your question. Here's what we know so far (from DBS): 12M SIBOR was discontinued last year, while 6M will be discontinued this year. The most common 1M and 3M packages, however, are slated to carry on till 2024 at least. When it changes to SORA, the loan will simply be pegged to Sora instead - but you'll need to ask your bank on how the transition is handled. Hope this helps 😀

Banks are very reluctant to give them out these days. Generally interest-free loans are more for businesses (like a working capital loan) than for property.

@@alexjones8113 Yea its been more or less banned in Singapore for housing since the late 2000's. Reasons being MAS knows investors tend to use it for speculative buys. Hope this helps mate.
