I think Golb is one of those “deader than dead” things that isn’t just about death, but complete obliteration from all time and space. People who are eaten by Golb are forever gone, whereas the Lich, being only a scholar of him, is an imperfect imitator who destroys but cannot obliterate entirely.

Having Golb as literally the most mysterious entity in the adventure time characters IMO really makes me more and more curious about him

When Golb eats someone and makes them unexisted, that means ChannelFredarator complete erased that character from the show...

Honestly I don't see Golb as a bad guy, but more a force in the natural order of things that's bigger than a single world in the multiverse. And its role is to simply consume multiverses when it's their time to end. Like the Pillow World for example. That could have been a reality conceived by Finn's own subconsciousness, and when he "died", that reality also died. And instead of just letting it linger, Golb consumed it and... almost consumes Finn in the process. But I don't know. I could be wrong and pleasantly surprised with what they do... but I'm not expecting a serious fight.

I thought The Lich was the MAIN VILLAIN...But Golb is alright...

Unlike popular belief, I personally don't think GOLB is Prismo's Boss, and there's a very simple reason for that: GOLB is a DESTROYER in NUMEROUS levels, not just the PHYSICAL one! 1. GOLB took Margles away just because he felt like it or she just got in his path, so he just got rid of the problem, the easiest solution, I assume. 2. The Lich calls himself the Last Scholar of GOLB, and we all knew from the moment he arrived to earth as a corrupted Catalyst Comet that his intentions are not for the faint of heart, even before there was time, before there was anything, before there was nothing, The Lich, Orgalorg, and all of the Ancient Monsters, all of GOLB's scholars had a clear mission, obliteration and annihilation. 3. Something, or someone, definitely destroyed the outside of Prismo's Time Room, the AT crew wouldn't have wanted us to be aware that something happened back in "Wake Up" (when Finn pointed it out but Jake completely dismissed it) if it wasn't related to something bigger. 4. GOLB tried to take Finn, and if it wasn't for Finn's Catalyst nature, he would've succeeded. 5. Abraham Lincoln and Glob were more than aware GOLB is a threat, which is why they needed defense mechanisms and weaponry (which was never used as Star Man pointed out back in "Astral Plane," not being aware of GOLB's existence), and they're two of the wisest cosmic entities in all Adventure Time, if GOLB was truly their Boss, they wouldn't go against his will, just like Prismo would've known right away his Boss took Margles, but he didn't, he was just as surprised as Magic Man that his powers and authority couldn't bring Margles back, Prismo wasn't even aware that an entity like GOLB existed, someone other than his Boss who's beyond his powers. 6. The ancient Matthew, who was supposed to restore the world after the Second Coming of GOLB, refers to said second coming as the Second Age of Terror, which does NOT sound like something an all powerful creator of the multiverse would be related towards, more like the very personification of TERROR itself. 7. And finally, the biggest piece of evidence I can provide to prove that GOLB is not a benevolent creature, not even a neutral one, but instead a malevolent one just like The Lich, far worse in fact, is in "Crossover," the same episode where Prismo's Boss is mentioned for the first time ever in the show, Prismo could not stop Ice Finn and Farmworld Lich from using the Enchiridion to enter the rest of the multiverse, even though it was a multiversal level threat, because something, or someone, was not allowing him to use his powers to stop them, and since we know for a fact Prismo's Boss would've punished Prismo for not maintaining the balance in the multiverse like he and the Cosmic Owl were supposed to, there's only one candidate left who could've protected The Lich from Prismo, the only other entity who we know for a fact is beyond Prismo's powers, and also the only entity who would be willing to serve as protection for The Lich, after all, The Lich is his Last Scholar, the Last Scholar... of GOLB.

Actually my theory is that golb is a living universe that exist beside the land of ooh. It explains why prismo can't do anything cause golb follows his own laws of the universe but because he is a physical enitity as he can effect others as long as they are not inside him/ his universe. The lich King calls himself a scholar of golb because he has seen the universe in golb and want to go there so he thinks that by reducing all life in his universes existence he can create enough space for golb to come and replace the current universe with the golbverse. It also explains why fin met golb since he was a universe in-between the pillow world and oooh

It's amazing. I watched this video not long before the finale. I had forgotten all about Golb. As I watched the finale, I waited to see if he would pop up, and when he did I kind of knew it was going to be him because of your video haha. The thing I'm not confused about is his transformation after the events of the finale. It was interesting but cool though!

Adventure time has never been about ending arcs, they just aren’t about finishing or explaining things, they leave a lot to the audience to figure out for themselves, and I love this kind of writing, that leaves a lot up to interpretation, sure it can be dissatisfying, but I love that it makes you think and then you’re taken to another world by your thoughts(I know ooo is on earth but it might as well be another world)

Most speculation points towards that GOLB is #1 on the Most-Powerful List, since he's known to be the only character to ever thwart Prismo, the undebatable most powerful character is the show. Prismo also states that he does have a 'boss,' and that suggests that he may be working for GOLB (although he may not know it). What's still murky are GOLB's motives. He was probably responsible for Finn's journey in Puhoy, and may have once hung out with the Lich in a mentor-student capacity, and both Finn and the Lich were once incarnated as a Catalyst Comet, so maybe he likes Comet-People. #IsMarglesACatalystComet? I think what people missed was that golb resides in the space between realities as shown when Finn died in pillow world but was transported back to his world and in between was good just sitting in blackness

Prismo couldn't bring Margles back because Golb is too powerful of a being, just like how at the end it showed Simon trying to get Betty back. Prismo only has so much power in granting his wishes just like how Jake couldn't just wish for the Lich to never exist, because the Lich is too powerful. Its also seen Golb is extremely powerful since near the end of come along with me Betty and Simon return their normal state, and not one thing was able to do that to Simon in 1,000 years.

The floating objects around him resemble the same cracked and broken pieces around the time room, and the time room itself also has cracks in it (like Golb). Also, he is the only being in the universe we know that could have power over Prismo. Other similarities to Prismo include existing between dimensions. He has to be it.
